Work Sequence (Job Steps)
1-Preparation for the job, fill up sub base and
lowering mast checklist and verify the points
by key persons and also verify that the Rig
mast raising sub cylinder is working properly.

Recommendations to Eliminate or Reduce Hazards VERIFIED BY
Raise PTW and get it signed and approved by Rig Manager and Rig Manager/
DSV before starting the work Ch.Mech./ Ch.
Hold PJSM and make sure all crew understand their Job Elect./Tool
responsibility Pusher
Select experienced crew to attend this operation
Minimum personnel to be exposed
Rig Manger is in charge of the operation
Chief Mechanic runs the controls of the winches
Chief Electrician watch the grass hopper folding
Driller check the substructure as it comes down, check the level of
the substructure
Three roustabouts pull electric hose/ cables out of way and then
return to a safe area
It is important to assess the condition of the Sub raising cylinder
and ensure it’s working properly before the task and test it
Derrick man must inspect the mast and make sure all equipment
on heights is properly secured.
Mechanic, Electrician and driller function test the equipment and
make sure that all equipment is working properly and free from
defect.

LOWER SUB BASE
2- Pick up the travelling block and tighten
bridge line, take out the pins which connect
sub base and sub structure
3-When substructure is landed on sub base,
lock it with the pins provided at the back, and
secure with safety pins.
LOWER MAST
4-Remove U-clamps from A frame to lower

Ensure good weather condition before lifting operation
Don’t lower the mast and sub base if wind speed is above of 8.3
M/S or 32 KMPH or 17.4 Knots
Lowering operation shall be done during day time only
