Read the information about two popular English cities. (25 points)

Bath
Getting there: There are trains from London
every hour. The city doesn’t have an airport.
You can go everywhere on foot. Parking is
difficult.
Places to see: Visit the famous 1,700-year-
old Roman Baths and drink the spa water (it
doesn’t taste good!). Go on a bus tour and see
the city. Bath has 5,000 beautiful old houses!
Things to do: Go to the Thermae Spa with a
swimming pool on the roof!
Bath is famous for shopping. There are lots
of small designer shops.
Newcastle
Getting there: The city has an international
airport and a modern metro system. Taxis
from the airport are about £15.
Places to see: The Baltic Museum, the
Millennium Bridge and the exciting Quayside
area by the river.
Visit Alnwick Castle which is in the Harry
Potter films.
Things to do: Go to the beach at Tynemouth,
6kms away. Newcastle has many clubs –
thousands of young people go dancing there
every weekend.
