A SERVICE OF DEATH AND RESURRECTION

MR. MARVIN ALIMBA

Ask and it shall be given unto you
I. OPENING SONG Seek and ye shall find
Knock and the door shall be opened unto you
Because He Lives Allelu Alleluia
God sent His son, they called Him, Jesus
He came to love, heal and forgive Amazing Grace
He lived and died to buy my pardon Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound
An empty grave is there to prove my Savior lives! That saved a wretch like me
I once was lost but now am found
Because He lives, I can face tomorrow, Was blind but now I see
Because He lives, all fear is gone
Because I know He holds the future T’was Grace that taught my heart to fear
And life is worth the living And Grace my fears relieved
Just because He lives! How precious did that Grace appear
The hour I first believed
How sweet to hold a newborn baby
And feel the pride and joy he gives Through many dangers, toils and snares
But greater still the calm assurance I have already come
This child can face uncertain days because He lives! Tis Grace that brought me safe thus far
And Grace will lead me home
And the one day, I’ll cross the river
I’ll fight life’s final war with pain V. TESTIMONIALS OF THE LOVE ONES
And then, as death gives way to victory
I’ll see the lights of glory and I’ll know He lives! VI. WORD OF GOD
 PTR. BLANCA
II. OPENING PRAYER
Give Thanks
III. BIBLE READING Give thanks with a grateful heart
Give thanks unto the Holy One
IV. HYMNS Give thanks because He’s given Jesus Christ, His
Son (2x)
Seek Ye First
Seek ye first the kingdom of God And now let the weak say, “I am strong”
And His righteousness Let the poor say, “I am rich
And all these things, shall be added unto you Because of what the Lord has done for us”
Allelu Alleluia
And now let the weak say, “I am strong”
Man shall not live by bread alone Let the poor say, “I am rich
But by every word Because of what the Lord has done for us”
That proceeds from the mouth of God
Allelu Alleluia VII. CLOSING PRAYER

VIII. THANKSGIVING FOR THE LIFE OF THE

DEPARTED
 PTR. BLANCA
I want to live above the world,
IX. EXPRESSION OF GRATTITUDE Though Satan’s darts at me are hurled;
 FROM THE BEREAVED FAMILY For faith has caught the joyful sound,
The song of saints on higher ground.
X. THE COMMENDATION AND FAREWELL
 MEMBERS OF THE IMMEDIATE FAMILY AND I want to scale the utmost height
RELATIVES And catch a gleam of glory bright;
But still I’ll pray till rest I’ve found,
XI. HYMNS OF ASSURANCE “Lord, lead me on to higher ground.”

Blessed Assurance
Blessed assurance, Jesus is mine;
Oh, what a foretaste of glory divine!
Heir of salvation, purchase of God,
Born of His Spirit, washed in His blood.

This is my story, this is my song,

Praising my Savior all the day long.
This is my story, this is my song,
Praising my Savior all the day long.

Perfect submission, perfect delight,

Visions of rapture now burst on my sight;
Angels descending, bring from above
Echoes of mercy, whispers of love.

Perfect submission, all is at rest,

I in my Savior am happy and blest;
Watching and waiting, looking above,
Filled with His goodness, lost in His love.

XII. COMMITAL

Higher Ground
I’m pressing on the upward way,
New heights I’m gaining every day;
Still praying as I onward bound,
“Lord, plant my feet on higher ground.”

Lord, lift me up, and let me stand

By faith on Canaan’s tableland;
A higher plane than I have found,
Lord, plant my feet on higher ground.

My heart has no desire to stay

Where doubts arise and fears dismay;
Though some may dwell where these abound,
My prayer, my aim, is higher ground.
