Maleficent is a Role Model.

Maleficent was born in a enchanted forest kingdom. In that place humans

killed her parents and for that reason she is an orphan. She is a famous villain

because she was the person who cursed the Sleeping Beauty (Princess Aurora), but

it is important to understand what was the reason behind of that spell. At the

beginning, she was in love with Stefan, an ambitious man who only thought about his

power and money. Stefan betrayed Maleficent with the intention of being the

successor of the king and take the power, the task was cutting her wings to make

sure that she have not power. The wrong thing is that Stefan did not care for the

feelings of Maleficent, so her reaction was feel angry and a desire to take revenge.

Consequently, she decided to curse Stefan’s daughter, know as Sleeping Beauty,

but then she realized that it was not a good decision and decided to take care of the

princess Aurora. In spite of all the things that occurred, I think that Maleficent is a

role model because of her self-confidence and her willingness to admit mistakes.

First, Maleficent is a role model because she is a self-confidence person, she

did all she could to get her goals done. That behaviour show the determination of

that character and the passion she has with the things she does. Odyssey (2016)

said that “Maleficent, the saltiest of all villains, was able to win over the whole

kingdom with a simple spell. Now that's what I call a strong female character.” Some

people think that Maleficent is not a self-confidence person because she did not

agree of being without her wings, so that makes she feel weak. But I think that wings

are part of her essence, is a normal reaction to feel bad if you lose a part of you

body. Despite of being with with her body incomplete she continue showing her

strong personality and fighting to realized all the things she want.
Second, I think that Maleficent is an example that inspire children because of

her willingness to admit mistakes. We can appreciate it in the movie when she felt

that was a wrong decision to spell Aurora and then began to take care of she like a

mom. I heard that some people are agree thinking that Maleficent is impulsive and

that she makes decisions depending of her feelings. For example, Margareth Perry

(2014) said that “she gets a little too wound up over not being invited to a party.”

Contrary, I believe that she show us how to act before a bad decision, she passed of

feel angry to show true love and security to the same person. Additionality, she

teaches that did not mind your past, you could be the person you want, no matter the

circumstance you could be a good person.

To conclude, I believe that villains are an excellent example of role model

because we always watch them but we don’t know the things they passed to be the

person they are. In the case of Maleficent she show the strong character of a

woman, the love we must have with ourselves and she teaches that we must do all

we can to make our dreams came true. Maleficent is an example for girls, to make

her personality strong and have their dreams in mind and do all they can to be

happy. On the other hand, she is an example of how is the love of a step-mother,

how this love could be show and that it really exist. Sometimes you takes some

decision based on your feelings of the moment but feeling are trick and drive you to

do things that you don’t want, Maleficent show that mistakes are not wrong if you do

things to repair that mistake. So, is important to be sure of you value and that you

are in the capacity of do all the things you want, the unique requirement is have

attitude to get it.
