ABSTRACT:
• The point of the present work is to outline and create solar power fueled auto charging grinding machine is
utilized for granulating any state of objects like Circular, Rectangular, and Polygon. Grinding machine is
accustomed to grinding the distinctive sorts of material. The grinding machine is turned by the single stage
acceptance engine. Thus our task to be specific solar fueled auto charging grinding machine is a Special kind of
Machine. As indicated by the sort of material to be grind, the granulating instrument can be changed. This task
gives subtle elements of granulating different shapes and sizes of segments. This machine can be broadly
connected in all sorts of ventures. By differing the pulley sizes we can get a top of the line speed of more than
10,000 rpm if necessary. The main change we have to make is to have a completely encased engine to keep out
the coarseness. In the present work D.C powered grinding machine which control is drawn by the 12 volt D.C
battery. This battery is charged by the solar power based board and the alternator which is coupled to the
grinding machine shaft with the assistance of spurs gear drive.​

• Grinding is a metal removing operation performed by means of rotating abrasive wheel that acts as a tool.
This operation is used to get high surface finish and good dimensional accuracy. The Machine we designed and
fabricated is used for grinding any shape of object like Circular, Rectangular, and Polygon. In our project grinding
machine is used to grinding the different types of material. The grinding machine is rotated by the single phase
induction motor by using solar power hence our project namely solar powered auto charging grinding machine.
According to the type of material to be grind, the grinding tool can be changed and speeds are varied. This
machine can be widely applied in almost all type of industries.
INTRODUCTION:
Our project is the fabrication of a solar grinding machine. It is used to grind the machining surfaces to super
Finish and accuracy. The principal parts of this attachment are the main body, the motor with pulley, bearings,
rope pulley and alternator, etc. Manufacturing is derived from the Latin word manufactures means made by
hand. In modern involves making products from raw materials by using various processes, by making use of
hand tools, machinery or even computers. It is therefore a study of the processes required to make parts and to
assemble them in machines. The study of manufacturing reveals that parameter which can be most efficiently
being influenced to increase production and raise its accuracy.
Grinding is a metal removal process that employs an abrasive whose cutting elements are grains of abrasive
materials of high hardness and high refractoriness The sharp-edged and hard grains are held together by a
bonding material. Projecting grains (Figure 1) abrade layers of metal from the work in the form of very minute
chips as the wheel rotates at high speeds of up to 60 m/s.
OBJECTIVES OF THE PROJECT:
• Grinding being the operation for Surface preparation for Teeth Cutting,
which requires good surface finish & accuracy to control the quality of the
cut is produced.
• In the present Grinding machine the material removal rate cannot be
controlled in Microns, it is only designed for heavy material removal.
• Today we are using a Magnetite bonded grinding wheel which is going
obsolete day by day. To upgrade the present technology we need to switch
over to a vitrified bonded grinding wheel.
