Assignment-Analysis of Truss

Engineering Mechanics
ME-Auto
1. Compute the force in each member of the loaded cantilever truss by the method of joints

2. A snow load transfers the forces shown to the upper joints of a Pratt roof truss. Neglect any
horizontal reactions at the supports and solve for the forces in all members.

3. The loading of problem 2 is shown applied to a Howe roof truss. Neglect any horizontal
reactions at the supports and solve for the forces in all members. Compare with the results of
problem 2.

4. Determine the force in members DG, FG, and FH of the truss shown.
5. Determine the force in member AE of the loaded truss.

6. Calculate the forces in members AB, BG, and GF.

7. Determine the force in members HI, HB and BC and stat if the members are in Tension or
Compression
8. Calculate the force in member DJ of the truss shown in the figure below. Neglect any horizontal
components of force at the supports.

9. In the problem number 2, compute the forces in members BC, CD and CG using method of
section and compare the result from the method of joints.

10. Determine the forces developed in the member of the truss shown.
