COURSE REQUIREMENTS:

a. Rules on Criminal Procedure

b. Rule on Summary Procedure
c. Guidelines for Continuous Trial in Criminal Cases
d. Rules of procedure for special courts like Environmental
Courts (green benches), Family Courts, Cyber Courts etc.
e. Constitution, Laws
f. jurisprudence

2. MAY READ: any textbook/s of your choice

Unnecessary explanation why we do not require a textbook:

Requiring you to use a certain textbook puts you in an epistemic
bubble, more particularly that of the author and persons of similar
views. It is better for you to explore the boundless world of law than
to be kept in that bubble.

3. BETTER IF NOT READ: reviewers and outlines of other students

(ONLY BECAUSE WE WANT YOU TO MAKE YOUR OWN MATERIALS
WHICH YOU CAN CONFIDENTLY USE FOR THE BAR)

II. PROPER ATTITUDE:

1. TAKE THIS COURSE AS THOUGH YOU ARE ALREADY REVIEWING

FOR THE BAR (BECAUSE YOU REALLY ARE).

2. HAVE A GOOD OVERVIEW OF THE SUBJECT. WE RECOMMEND

THE ‘ONE-PAPER CHALLENGE’ – CONDENSE EVERYTHING ABOUT
CRIM PRO ON JUST ONE PAGE OF YELLOW( or blue or pink or white
) PAPER. IT WILL GIVE YOU A SENSE OF CONTROL OVER THE
SUBJECT.
3. WE STRONGLY ADHERE TO THE “DOCTRINE OF SELF-HELP”
(not to be taken in the context of property law ). WE (meaning “I”)
REGRET TO INFORM YOU THAT ANSWERS TO THE GUIDE
QUESTIONS WILL NOT BE GIVEN, SIMPLY BECAUSE DOING SO
WILL BE INSULTING YOUR INTELLIGENCE; JUST MAKE SURE TO
BASE YOUR ANSWERS ON LAWS, RULES, OR JURISPRUDENCE
(PLEASE AVOID CITING AUTHORS UNLESS HE OR SHE WAS
QUOTED BY THE SUPREME COURT IN A DECISION). DO NOT
FORGET TO INDICATE IN YOUR NOTES YOUR LEGAL BASIS.

PACE, BUT WITHIN THE SCHEDULE GIVEN ABOVE. PREPARE OR

6. BE PROPERLY EQUIPPED (with a laptop and a good conscience).

a. You are strongly advised to have your own laptop now so you
can get used to using it in answering exams in preparation for your
forthcoming bar. For this subject, answers to essay tests will be
typed on designated text boxes ( to avoid snapshots sent in various
orientations that caused a lot of neck injuries and headaches).
