1. Objective:
The objective of this document is to achieve a safe normal operation, operation in various abnormal
conditions to safeguard the system and shutdown of system.

2. Precaution & Limitation:

A) Use of PPE is mandatory.

B) Avoid any chemical splash or vapors especially during level make up of hydrazine tank, so use of safety
goggles, hand gloves, safety shoes is necessary.

C) Safety shower and eye washer shall be ready and working well in turbine area.

D )Ensure no obstruction to safety/ fire fighting equipment, escape routes and access ladder, stair case.

E) Ensure communication system, such as PA, walkie talkie, Intercoms are working properly.

F) Ensure safety interlocks are in service and checked during start up.

3. Procedure for taking system into service:

1-Check level of LP dosing (hydrazine solution) tank is alright and is above the suction line of LP dosing
pump.

2-Check the agitator of LP dosing tank is running.

3- Check the piping system, their joints, inlet & outlet valves, NRVs, strainers are in healthy condition and
there is no leakage.

4- Check & ensure that the LP dosing inlet valve of boiler feed water supply header is in open condition.

5- Check & ensure that the inlet & outlet valves of the LP dosing pump are in open condition.

6 -Check the oil level of LP dosing pump is alright.

7- Start the LP dosing pump & check the discharge pressure in pressure gauge is alright.

8- Check the level of LP dosing tank at frequent interval and adjust the pump stroke

4. Procedure for stopping the LP dosing system:

1-Stop the LP dosing pump by switching off electrical push button from local panel
2- Stop the LP dosing agitator by switching off electrical push button from local panel
3- Close the inlet & outlet valve of LP dosing tank.
4- Close the LP dosing inlet valve of boiler feed water header.

5. Procedure for system handover for maintenance work:

1-Stop the LP dosing pump by switching off electrical push button from local panel.
2-Stop the LP dosing agitator by switching off electrical push button from local panel
3- Close the inlet & outlet valve of LP dosing tank.
4- Close the LP dosing inlet valve for boiler feed water header.
5-Clean & flush out LP dosing system by clean water.
