Project Name: Building a Restaurant

Project Type: Construction Project

Business Name: “The Eating House of Organics”

Start Date and End Date of Project: 1 October,2020 to 1 April,2021

The restaurant is going to be opened on Chandigarh highway road near Sunny enclave sector 125, Mohali, Punjab (140301).

India is a diverse country and people often visit restaurants with their families to spend quality time with each other. Constructing a restaurant in

expected budget of ($272,000) near major developing cities with modern in and outlook designs. Also, supplying organically produced food will

not only make customers healthy but force them to pay for good quality which in turn help the owner to generate maximum income after this

6month project.

As the restaurant is providing organic food which will impact consumers in terms of good health benefits and escalate their satisfaction levels.

Hence, purpose is to build this restaurant from a small scale to a positive brand in an estimated time of 5 years.

Brief Introduction of the Assignment:

Based on this selected project “Building the restaurant” we are going to continue this assignment further. This is a construction project therefore;

1. Activity lists (at least 20) will be created which will be performed to build the restaurant.

2. Estimate Durations in Days (unit) to complete these 20 defined activities

3. Define activity Dependencies: How the activities are co-related to each other.

4. Drawing Network diagram - Precedence Diagramming Method (PDM): To show the sequence between all the activities and

calculating the longest path.

Project Title: Building a restaurant named “The Eating House of Organics”

A Finalise Drawings. Building a restaurant will need some prior architectural drawing. Hence, this activity will

finalise all architectural and engineering requirements.


B Permission from authorities. Before starting the construction of restaurant providing organic food, an application

should be submitted to local environmental health department to get permit for production

of organic food. Also, building approved permit from city is must.


C Acquiring land Buying land to construct the restaurant and some extra land to produce in- grown organic

food. Some piece of land will be used for organic farming.

D Marking Footprint To construct the restaurant, various measurements will be taken which will tell how much

land will be acquired by actual building design as per architecture drawings.


E Site preparation and levelling Preparing the land such as clearing any unnecessary plants, trees on purchased property

and levelling it to start construction as per specific architectural/ engineering

requirements.

F Excavation at construction site As per architectural/ engineering specification this activity needs removal of extra soil to

perform construction without any barriers. Must ensure to hire an excavator.

G Purchasing building material. Placing order for raw material such as bricks, stones, cement with their accepted delivered

date and time.


H Hiring contractor To construct the restaurant according to architectural plan the capable and potential

contractor will be hired which will further provide us trained labour. Contractor will look

further all construction activities on his behalf in decided time for project.
I Giving Information to contractor The hired contractor will be informed about the architectural drawings that will help

him/her to assign responsibility to hired labour.


J Pouring Foundation Once land is fully prepared then pour foundation activity is performed. It is used to

construct lower part of restaurant’s building by spreading concrete mixture.


K Framing the building As per architectural requirements framing will be done to give shape and support to

restaurant’s building.
L Roof framing In this structure of roof will be framed as per engineering and architectural requirements.

M Plumbing It is the activity to install drainage system such as installing pipes in walls.

N Electrical installation Fitting of electrical wires to use any electronic appliances in restaurant.

O Making list of other supplies Preparing list of various materials such as infrastructure, tables and chairs that should be

procured.
P Finding the supplier Making sure to select the potential supplier in the market that can give quality of supplied

material.
Q Accepting/ Testing the procured materials. The supplied materials should be tested to reduce infrastructural defect.

R Developing the interiors It will not only to complete and finalise the interiors and exteriors as per architectural/

engineering requirements but also includes installation infrastructure, flooring and

painting
S Landscaping It is the activity to fascinate the building of restaurant by adding features such as adding

garden, plants and trees to the final architectural design, design public and private areas. It

will help to attract more customers to restaurant.


T Final clean-up The workers will clean up all the floors such as removing stains of paints on floor,

cleaning windows to give final touch to the restaurant’s building.


U Advertising Advertising about restaurant using banners, social media
