This is where you introduce yourselves.

I would like to know the following about you

1. Basic introduction info such as: Name, nickname, years in DCS (or MIS, if taking an elective),
where you work, where you live, etc. This is the standard intro.
2. Your skills. Are you a proficient or beginner-level programmer? What are your favorite
languages/which language are your most confident in? Do you have experience in networking,
QA/Testing, System Administration etc. Just your general IT skills and experience
3. Your experience in planning and developing systems. If you've been involved in developing
systems before, tell me about your role in the team and your experience. Maybe you have
experience as a client, make sure to include that as well.

Hajimemashite!

From the ALA EH! Province of Batangas, I am Blancaflor P. Arada, 31 years of age. You can call me
Blanca for short. I am taking up Master of Information Systems (MIS) for two years now. I am a computer
scientist by training, but an educator by passion. In fact, I have been teaching at Batangas State
University Rosario Campus Extension for eight years. I have been teaching computer courses, and
sometimes non-computer courses if there’s not enough subject loading. I am also the Head of Institutional
Planning and Development (OIPD) of our campus for five years and Head of Information and
Communications Technology (ICT) Services Office of our campus only recently.

I am a Computer Science graduate at University of the Philippines Baguio. I have a 30-unit Master of
Science in Computer Engineering at Batangas State University, but I decided not to continue the
program. I have certificates of International Computer Driving Licence (ICDL), TESDA NC IV PC
Operations, which is unfortunately phased out. Last year, I have passed PhlNITS’ Level 1: Information
Technology Passport (IP) Certification Examination. I can’t say that I am a proficient computer
programmer but definitely I’m not a beginner–level programmer. Since college days in UP Baguio, I am
thoroughly exposed to C programming language. Last semester, courtesy of IS 238, I learned Client-
Server Computing using C in a Unix/Linux environment.

I have not been involved in any planning and developing systems since I am in the academics. For most, I
am an end-user of the information systems developed in-house by our university-wide ICT Services
Office. But, I can also provide system testing feedbacks for newly-developed systems.

Douzo yoroshiku onegaishimasu!
