The 1995 edition of AS/NZS 2053.1 is amended as follows; the amendments should be inserted in the
appropriate places.
SUMMARY : This Amendment applies to Appendix B, Paragraphs B2 and B3.

1997 After the word ‘fittings’ insert the following:
‘assembled with all the components, as for normal use, including conduits. Parts which
are not accessible when mounted, as in normal use, and any small conduit fitting whose
maximum dimension is less than 20 mm, are not subjected to this test.
NOTE: Fittings are not required when testing conduits.’

1997 In Item (e), add the following new sentence:
‘For fittings, the test is made on the weakest part of the conduit fitting except that it is
not applied within 5 mm of any socket mouth.’
