believe because of global warming and inconsiderate human activity.

1. SAICHEN GLACIER, INDIA

It is the largest glacier in India and 2 nd largest glacier outside the polar region of the world. Saichen refers
to ‘the place of wild roses’. It is also known as the highest battlefield for India and Pakistan.

2. RHONE GLACIER, SWITZERLAND


Rhone glacier is the source of water supply to Lake Geneva. The most magical aspects of Rhone glacier
are the tunnels and chambers within. Everything becomes blue with every step you’ll take into the

It is one of the most rapidly changing glaciers in the world. Astonishing scenery and profound feeling of

It is the largest glacier in continental Europe. This massive glacier stores enough freshwater, which could
supply Norway with water for over a century.

5. GREY GLACIER, CHILE

Grey Glacier is one of the most eye-catching sites in the world-renowned Torres del Paine National Park
in Chile. Every visitor is mesmerized by the dazzling blue-grey colour.

6. PASTERZE GLACIER, AUSTRIA


It is located in Eastern Alps in Austria, Europe. It is spread over 8.4 kilometres and is Austria’s largest
glacier.

7. FRANZ JOSEF GLACIER, NEW ZEALAND

It is the steepest glacier among all the glaciers in New Zealand. Franz Josef is home to a plethora of
breath-taking ice caves, tunnels and other icy phenomena as a consequence of its fast movement of
nearly 20 inches per day.

8. PERITO MORENO GLACIER, ARGENTINA


If you plan to visit only one glacier in a lifetime, then Perito Moreno would be a good one to pick. It is
still growing, unlike others which are reducing due to global warming.

9. VATNAJOKULL GLACIER, ICELAND

Vatnajokull Glacier covered 8% of Iceland’s landmass. It is located in Southern periphery of Vatnajokull.

10. TASMAN GLACIER, NEW ZEALAND


Follow the route from the car-park for a nice view of the glacier as it meanders past the Blue Lakes to
the moraine wall. You can see the glacier, terminal lake and surrounding hills across the hills.

11. ATHABASCA GLACIER, CANADA

It is the most-visited glacier in North America. It is one of those places which you should visit before it
disappears.
