The Etiquette of Companionship with the Creator and the Creation

Your Companion is the one who:

 Never leaves you

 Is with you at home or while travelling
 Is with you whether you are asleep or awake
 Is with you in life and at the time of death

Your Companion is none other than your Lord, Protector, Master and Creator.
Whenever you remember Him, He is with you and He remembers you. Allah says:

I AM THE COMPANION OF THE ONE WHO ENGAGES IN REMEMBERANCE OF ME (SHU’AB AL-

IMAN).

When your heart breaks with sorrow because you are unable to fulfil your obligations to
your Lord, He remains your Friend and Constant Companion. Allah says:

I AM WITH THOSE WHOSE HEARTS ARE BROKEN FOR MY SAKE (HILYAT AL-AWLIYA)

If you knew Allah as He should be known, you would leave people alone and instead choose
companionship with Him. If you are unable to do this all the time, then take care not to
spend an entire day and night without some time spent alone with your Master. It is during
this time that you will taste the sweetness of intimate dialogue with Allah. And therefore
you must learn the manners of companionship with Allah, Mighty and Majestic.
