Review:
The early definitions of communication regard it as a process by which message is moved or
transmitted from one point to another. These definitions fall under the so-called model of
communication which contains most of the following elements such as sender, message, channel,
receiver, encoding, decoding, noise, context, feedback, effects. According to RingCentral,

Applied social science can be able to help resolve a range of serious problems in people’s live. They engage in
counseling or professional guidance of the individual through psychological methods like collection of case history
data, personal interview and interests and aptitude test.
PERSUASION
In careers related to communication like mass media, advertising, and business, persuasion is very essential; To persuade
someone means being able to convince other people to change their attitudes or behavior regarding an issue through
the communication of messages in an atmosphere of free choice.
ART AND ENTERTAINMENT
Applied social science are also used in the arts and entertainment industry. Arts and entertainment are reflections of a
country’s culture and society. To be able to understand and analyze the development and new trends in the arts and
entertainment. It is important to be knowledgeable about the people’s social culture and conditions. The applied social
science looks into these important aspects as it studies the anthropological and sociological conditions of the society.
NEWS AND INFORMATION
Applied social science is also important in the field of journalism. The news and current affairs sector emphasizes the
need for a balanced, objective, and truthful rendering of the political and other important events as they actually
happened.
ORGANIZING, ADVOCACY AND MOBILIZATION
Advocacy groups are organized to inform and educate on public issues, and influence people on the development
policies. Advocacy groups also play important roles in the development of political and social system. Applied social
science in a good background for advocacy organizing and mobilization because this multidisciplinary field studies
politics, governance, social and political dynamics. These areas are very important background for advocacy work.
EDUCATION AND SOCIALIZATION
The applied social science educates the public about the realities of life and the problems that country faces. Through
mass media, the applied social science educates people about different events and phenomena that is happening.
People are updated with the recent developments in the sciences, technology, and other relevant fields of knowledge.
