01 To explore and recognize the fundamental knowledge regarding Jupyter like cell structure, shortcut keys and the differentiation from other IDE.

02 To pick up the knowledge of how different sorts of function of pandas could be applied in analyzing data.

03 To discover how Python can perform data scraping to get and extract data from websites.

04 To learn how to read and write to CSV as well as create their own data-frame from existing data-frame.

05 To learn on how Matplotlib in Python visualises data and understand its plotting structures such as ax, axes, fig, axis etc.

Introduction on Concept of
Event
Mode of Registration
As we introduced Fintech to the students in the previous event, this workshop is going to
teach students how to use Python to derive basic analytic function. This includes how to
use pandas to process the data, and the basic Python functions. Besides, we will teach
students how to get the relevant data online, and turn it into a visualize information that
can be interpret and analyse.
Registration will be done through Google form.

Mr. Ng Tsu Yao as the chairperson of the Institution of Engineering & Technology (IET) club,
will act as the speaker for this workshop. He will teaches Jupyter Basic, and identifies the
differences between Jupyter Basic and other IDE (Spyder, VS Code). He will explains how to
do the cell structure, data grouping, and also shortcut keys. Thus, he will show how to use
pandas to handle data, and the basic function of Python. Third, he will shows how to do
data scarping by using Python, through how to get relevant information and extract the
data online. Lastly, he will teach Matplotib for data visualization, this is to visualite the data
analyze from the previous section. Then we will enter into the Q&A session. students can
ask questions and the speaker will answer them.

Yes, the event is related to Sustainable Development Goals, Goal 13 Climate Action. By
using fintech, people can work from home managing remote teams through technologies
without going to office as large office blocks consume huge energy. Besides that, Fintech is
also paperless, in banking only cards will need to send to their customers instead of giving
customers terms of use documents and endless paper statement. Fintech is green and
environmental sustainability.
This workshop could enable the students to use Python for data analysis. This skill will put
them to an advantageous position in their career, as the markets are developing into digital
era is advancing through the use of computers and other technologies devices as a medium
of communication.
