SYMPTOMS

A Blackout job can not be stopped from 12c OEM Console.

When trying to end blackout, it returns status of "Partial Blackout - Stop Failed".

CAUSE

As per the log emoms_pbs.trc file from ../gc_inst/em/EMGC_OMS1/sysman/log/,

following are the error messages at the time of Stop Blackout:

java.lang.NullPointerException
at java.text.SimpleDateFormat.parse(SimpleDateFormat.java:1235)

oracle.sysman.emdrep.jobs.commands.StopBlackout.stopBlackout(StopBlackout.java:138)
at
oracle.sysman.emdrep.jobs.commands.StopBlackout.executeCommand(StopBlackout.java:268)
at
oracle.sysman.emdrep.jobs.CommandStepExecutor.execute(CommandStepExecutor.java :154)

This is due to an incorrect version of the Patch 16048324 applied to the OMS. This incorrect patch was initially released
in the month of February.

SOLUTION

To fix the issue:

1. Rollback the Patch 16048324 if you have on OMS_HOME.

2. Please download the Patch 16805137 and apply it to OMS_HOME as per the instructions.
