Change management is difficult for most people because there is no clear guideline or list of

factors that influence transformation within individuals or organizations. Every person has their
own view of a working transformative initiative based on their past experiences. Since one
initiative worked for someone, they deem their view as the most successful and may struggle to
accept a new transformative initiative. Even experts in the change management field differ
because most people use their personal experience to focus and predict their success factors.
Furthermore, the issues research and experts have established as change management agents
are difficult to manage. For instance, research has established that motivation, culture, and
leadership are key issues in important elements of success in change management. However,
such factors do not directly influence successful outcomes on people regarding change
programs. For instance, communication and visionary leadership are significant for
transformation, but not in all cases. It is also very difficult to measure or get reliable data on
such soft factors as motivation and leadership.

Decision-making on the other hand is difficult because of the psychological factors associated
with the process. Decision-making primarily depends on the way we think depending on the
experiences we have had or heard. Sometimes, people think something is normally done in
some way and their thinking is affected due to cognitive bias. Normally, people prefer to stick
with what they know, and having an option to choose something new makes the decision-
making process complex. Stress due to choice overload is also another factor that makes
decision-making difficult. When options are too many, it can be overwhelming to make a
correct decision. Also, when the options to choose from or to pick a decision are too many,
decision fatigue can come in. decision fatigue corrupts a person's thinking process, hence
making it more difficult to think about decisions. Lastly, weighing your options calls for the
measure of uncertainties. One just wonders what may happen if they make one choice over the
other or what they could be missing if they forgo the other option.
