TOPIC: More and more people are competing for a place to study in

universities. Reasons? Do you think this is a positive or negative

development?
There has been a considerable number of people competing for a place to
study in universities. The essay aims to analyze the causes for this situation
and explain why I believe that this is a positive development.
Sample: Admittedly, we live in a world where everyone is subject to cut-throat
competition in order to success in career. In the case, higher education keeps one
ahead of other competitors. To put it another way, employers are likely to nominate the
employees who have university degree. People with university degree are paid more
handsome salary and are promoted regularly than those who do not belong to
university degree. Thereby, more and more students take part in the competition to be
admitted in a university. In addition to this, with the development of economy, more
people are able to afford higher education. So, they are combating for enrolling in
universities.
From my perspective, further education offers individuals deep knowledge of
different aspects of life. By that I mean, students who attend universities can
focus on their specialized fields in university such as Economics, Business,
Finance, Arts, Language. Hence, not only does it help enhance working skill
and but also provide a great opportunity for them to seek a decent job in the
future. Moreover, it motivates students to work harder to strive for being
admitted in prestigious schools. As the competition among students is tough,
they have to go to any lengths so as to get the better of other competitors at
the entrance exam. Therefore, being competitive does help them to achieve
goals and become successful people.
