The provided bar chart compares the weekly expense of the British on three fast food items in
1990 meanwhile the line graph indicates the weight of the annihilation of fast food by British in
the period 1970 to 1990. As is observed from the initial bar chart, the expenditure on hamburger
enhances with wealth and reaches at a significant figure. Otherwise, pizza was the most
consumed item in 70’s but in later years, consumption of fish & chips had remarkably increased.

According to the bar graph, high-income people spent more money on hamburger  than on fish &
chips and pizza per week, over than 40 pence individually. Their spending was also higher than
average and low-income class people on fast food. Consumption of hamburger was still the
largest one in the intermediate-income class-more than 30 pence weekly. The follow-up food
item was fish & chips which was noticeably cost 25 pence per week. It was also more than the
rest of the income groups. Finally, the low-income class British citizens spent comparatively less
on fast food items, which was the highest consumption was fish & chips, about 17 pence. They
spent the least amount on purchasing pizza (around 7 pence/person).

On the contrary, the line graph shows the consumption of these items by the British from 1970 to
1990. Initially, fish & chips consumption in Britain was highest (300 gm/ person) in 1970. In this
year, both pizza and hamburger were consumed at an extremely low amount. Except for fish &
chips, the rest of the annihilation of fast food items grew up rapidly, especially is the significant
increase of hamburger. Over the time, fish & chips consumption gradually diminished and
hamburger became the most consumed item in 1990 with 500 gm consumption per
person. Nevertheless, there was still a slight raise in consumption of fish & chips from 1985 to
1990 as a fluctuation. Except for fish & chips, the rest of the annihilation of fast food items grew
up rapidly, especially is the significant increase of hamburger.

It has often been said that "Good news is bad news" because it does not sell newspapers. A radio
station that once decided to present only good news soon found that it had gone out of business
for lack of listeners. Bad news, on the other hand, is so common that in order to cope with it, we
often simply ignore it. We have become immune to bad news and the newspapers and radio
stations are aware of this. In my perspective, we all have to deal with both of them and the
crucial thing is the honest news.

While newspapers and TV stations may aim to report world events accurately, be they natural or
human disasters, political events or the horrors of war, it is also true that their main objective is
to sell newspapers and attract listeners and viewers to their stations. For this reason, TV and
radio stations attempt√ to reflect√ the flavor√ of their station by providing news broadcasts
tailor-made to suit their listeners' preferences√. Program specializing√ in pop music or TV soap
operas focus more on local news, home issues and up-to-date traffic reports. The more serious
stations and newspapers like to provide "so-called" objective news reports with the editorial
comment aimed at analyzing the situation the more … the more. If it is true, then, that
newspapers and TV stations are tailoring their news to their readers' and viewers' requirements
how can they possibly be reporting real world events in an honest and objective light? Many
radio and TV stations do; in fact, report items of good news but they no longer call this news.
They refer to these as human interest stories and package them in the program specializing, for
instance, in consumer affairs or local issues. Good news now comes to us in the form of
documentaries the fight against children cancer or AIDS, or the latest developments in the fight
to save the planet from environmental pollution.

In conclusion, what today’s news and information on media we receive is influenced√ by some
main factors as hooking√ viewers, increasing profits, and obeying political regulations√.
Besides, the news media can have a double-edged impact√ on society by the good and bad
news. By doing so, we can ensure√ that choosing information carefully before reading and
watching are indispensable√ to us. Very good!
