Answer these.
A. Give the elements of culture.

Symbols

Every culture is filled with symbols, or things that stand for something else
and that often evoke various reactions and emotions.

Language

Perhaps our most important set of symbols is language. In English, the

word chair means something we sit on. In Spanish, the word silla means the same
thing. As long as we agree how to interpret these words, a shared language and
thus society are possible.

Norms

Cultures differ widely in their norms, or standards and expectations for

behaving. We already saw that the nature of drunken behavior depends on
society’s expectations of how people should behave when drunk.

Values

Values are another important element of culture and involve judgments of

what is good or bad and desirable or undesirable.

Artifacts

The last element of culture is the artifacts, or material objects, that constitute

a society’s material culture. In the simplest societies, artifacts are largely limited to
a few tools, the huts people live in, and the clothing they wear.
B. How does culture affect our society?
We know for sure that culture is a part of society, it is what makes
society what it is or what we know society is. It is a part of our lives and
culture defines one nation as it is. Also, the combination of one culture and
society that it belongs to is what makes one country and nation that resides in
that country.
Our culture shapes the way we work and play, and it makes a difference in
how we view ourselves and others. It affects our values, what we consider right
and wrong. This is how the society we live in influences our choices.
But our choices can also influence others and ultimately help shape our society.
