LEARNING EXERCISE 7.1

1. Why are principles of design important in an artwork? You can provide an
example to show the importance of using principles of design.

The design principles are made up of various mixes of design elements all
together in one image, which make the image look better. When more than one
principle is used together, an artist can create works of art that will amaze people
and get good publicity, hopefully for the benefit of the artist who made them.
When you as an artist create artwork the principles of design become very
important to it. They are the devices that you need to use and will unknowingly
use since they make your images look nicer and become more visually appealing
to people who are looking at your work.
Passionate people committed to positive commercial and social impact. Exciting
place that bring together culture and business. A design led philosophy delivering
excellent architecture.

2. In an artwork, can we only use several principles of design? Or is it necessary to

use all of them? Elaborate.

Contrast
Contrast refers to the way in which the different elements of a design meet,
especially the adjacent elements. These differences bring out several elements.
Contrast is also a very important aspect in creating accessible designs.

Balance
Some items are heavy and eye-catching, while others are lighter. The way these
elements are presented on a page should create a sense of balance.

Emphasis
The emphasis is on the parts of a design that should stand out. In most cases,
this means the most important information the project needs to convey.
Proportion
Proportion is one of the easiest design principles to understand. Simply put, it is
the size of the elements relative to each other. Proportion indicates what is
important in a design and what is not. Larger objects are more important, smaller
objects are less.

Rhythm

Gaps between repeated elements can cause a sense of rhythm to form, similar
to how the spacing between notes in a musical composition creates a rhythm.

Pattern
Templates are nothing more than a repetition of multiple design elements
working together. Wallpaper patterns are the most ubiquitous example of
patterns that virtually everyone is familiar with.

Movement

Movement refers to the way the eye travels over a drawing. The most important
element should lead to the next in importance, and so on.

Variety

Variety in design is used to create visual interest. Without variety, a design can
become monotonous very quickly, causing the user to lose interest.

Unity

Unity refers to how well the elements of a design work together. Visual elements
must have clear relationships to each other in a project.

pattern.

Artists concern themselves with engaging the emotions of the viewer without
the destruction found in paintings of objects.

Despite this, the painting is exciting to look at because of the manner in which
it captures the imagination of the viewer.

The unity of the painting is so great the combination of color to make other
