 I. INTRODUCTION

This case study is entitled "Factors Affecting the Tourist Rate in Burauen, Leyte"

aims to know and understand the circumstances and the reasons of current problems

related to the tourist rate of Burauen Leyte. Burauen is a well-known town because of

beautiful spots and beautiful travel destinations found in the certain areas around

Burauen, it was even recognized as the spring capital of Leyte because of blessed

waterfalls and springs. The tourist rate of Burauen is largely increasing in these past few

years, not until the coronavirus occurred last year, it changes things in tourism industry.

The board lines, travel agencies and transportation business are required to close

because of lockdowns all over the country, and it may be the reason of low tourist rate in

Burauen, but the thankfully everything is slowly getting back to normal. While in the

present day, not only the town of Burauen have been facing several problems, especially

when it comes to the situation on new normal, wherein people needs to contend different

issues, adjust with new implemented protocols and not to travel as much as possible

because of some health issues. In this industry of tourism, there are a lot of things to be

considered including the safety of everyone. It is quite significant to make this study

possible in order to know the different perception of people living in Burauen, it is also

important to get their ideas in order to facilitate the possible factors affecting the Tourist

rate of Burauen.

According to the study of unknown source about the economic impacts to tourism,

many argue that the tourism industry is the largest industry in the world. While its actual

value is difficult to accurately determine, the economic potential of the tourism industry is

indisputable. In fact, it is because of the positive economic impacts that most destinations

embark on their tourism journey. In comparison of the previous study to this present study,

the economy is the main aspect that people always look for, and if the economic growth

is slowly decreasing, then the other connected industries to it may be affected in some

specific ways. It is a hard situation for people that a lot of things are happening

everywhere, even worldwide. And the circumstances that are currently happening can

actually affect in various social industries, including tourism.

The reason why this issue was highly chosen is because this problem is significant

and a lot of people can highly express their ideas and thoughts about the factors affecting

to the tourist rate of Burauen, Leyte since this is a current issue that everyone must have

to contend. Another is to gather relevant data that will help the research accomplish the

study.

This study needs enough time in order to gather some relevant data from certain

respondents of Burauen. The instrument of this study are survey questionnaires from a

particular media platform and will be done virtually or online. The respondent's privacy

including names and addresses will be keep confidentially and the data that will be

gathered will undergo to a clear process and if lack of needs will be found in the findings,

the researcher will provide suggestions on what to do next.

 II. PROBLEM STATEMENT

The objective of this study is to know the factors affecting to the tourist rate in

Burauen, Leyte. The researcher aims to know the answers of the following questions.

1. What are the Factors Affecting the Tourist Rate in Burauen, Leyte?

2. How does economic growth relate to tourism industry ratings?

3. How does the decreasing tourist rate of Burauen affects its people?
