also because they have visibility into the items offered, price and extremely simplified navigation for the

to the cart, make orders and can track their order details. On the other hand, it also allows a particular
restaurant or hotel to register themselves to make their food item available to their customers. They can
upload the images of their food items, its details, and prices. This provides a platform or connection between
various hotels/ restaurants and its customers. It also contains a module for delivery persons, in order to track

6.2 LIMITATIONS

• For placing any orders customers have to visit hotels or restaurants to know about food items and
then place order and pay. In this method time and manual work is required.

• While placing an order over the phone, customer lacks the physical copy of the menu item, lack of
visual confirmation that the order was placed correctly.

• Every restaurant needs certain employees to take the order over phone or in-person, to offer a rich
dining experience and process the payment. In today’s market, labour rates are increasing day by
day making it difficult to find employees when needed.[3]

7 PROPOSED SYSTEM

To overcome the disadvantages to traditional way of food ordering, the new online food ordering system
is proposed. It is an android app which allows it users to easily order the food.
For a customer there will be a home page where they can explore through various categories of
food items. To place an order, they need to login or if they are new users, they have to register
themselves. They can also add products to their cart, track their order details.
For a restaurant manager, first he needs to register their restaurant on the app, then they can upload
various details about their food items such as images, prices, availability, amount of discount etc.
The delivery person’s information is provided by the restaurant manager, his role is to update the
location of the order, deliver it and take reviews from the customer. Location of order can be tracked
according to the delivery person’s location.
