Responsibilities: Lead Civil / Structural Engineer & Coordinator

K-Electric has launched its TP-1000 Transmission Enhancement Plan of $400 Million in collaboration with
Siemens Germany/Pakistan and Shanghai Electric of China. The project will add 1000 Mega-watt electricity in the
transmission and distribution infrastructure and will ensure a smoother and more reliable supply of power for K-
Electric customers in Karachi and its adjoining areas.

I joined Siemens Pakistan (EPCC Contractor) as Civil / Structural Design Manager & Engineering Coordinator for
designing of 26 Grid-Stations and Sub-Stations, with following major responsibilities under my job description,

 Managing & Supporting Engineering and Design Team for 132kV & 220 kV Sub-Stations including AIS / GIS
Buildings with underground Cellars, Power & Auto Transformer Foundations with Fire Walls having raft & pile
foundations, Lattice Steel Structural Supports for Electrical Equipment like CT, VT, DS, CB, SA, LA, and
Transmission Towers etc.

This project was EPC based project for Gas Processing Unit with capacity of 50 MMSCFD. This project consisted
of more than 350 Civil / Structural Design Documents and Drawings for which I was Lead Project Engineer from
Civil / Structural Department with following some of major responsibilities,

 Leading & Managing team of Engineers and Drafting persons for preparation of Civil Construction Drawing and to
schedule internal working load for achieving targeted deliverable dates smoothly.

This project involves Main Raw Gas Processing Facility and several Well Heads which are to be developed and
constructed. My major responsibilities for this project were as follows,

 To Coordinate between Client and EPC Contractor, in order to resolve technical issues.
 Performing technical QA / QC for design calculations and engineering drawings, prepared by EPC contractor.
 Coordinating with client and site representative for site issues and construction issues related to projects.

Project: DETAILED ENGINEERING FOR LUBE OIL PLANT
Client: CHEVRON PAKISTAN LIMITED (CPL)
Responsibilities: WORKED AS LEAD CIVIL / STRUCTURAL ENGINEER

This project consisted of major revamping of existing Lube Oil Plant of Chevron Pakistan. I had been working for
this project as Lead Civil / Structural Engineer. This project mainly consisted of following facilities to be revamped:

 Large Pre Engineered Building Warehouse (40m x 55m) with mezzanine floor for storage of lube oil containers.
 Up-gradation of existing storm water drainage system.
 Construction of foundations for lube oil storage tanks.
 Pipe racks, sleepers and their foundations for interconnecting piping from tank area to process area.

Project: GAS PIPELINE (DIA 48” X 127 KM) PROJECT (LOT – A & B)
Client: NIGERIAN NATIONAL PETROLEUM CORPORATION (NNPC)
Responsibilities: WORKED AS SENIOR CIVIL / STRUCTURAL ENGINEER

This project involved complete Design Review of Civil / Structural Works as follows:
 Pipeline Topographic and Geotechnical Specification.
 Design of Miscellaneous Building such as control building, gate house, generator house and grading work.
 Design of Civil Works such as pig launcher / receiver, miscellaneous equipment foundation, valve pit, fire water
storage tank, elevated water tank and soak-septic tank.

Client: United Energy Pakistan (UEP) formerly known as British Petroleum (BP)
Responsibilities: Worked as Lead / Senior Civil Engineer

UEP has got many Gas Wellheads & Facilities in Pakistan from where natural GAS& crude OIL is being explored
and distributed after complete processing. For treating those raw fuels, UEP also owns several Treatment
Facilities for which modification and revamping works are a continuous process.

I worked as Senior Civil Engineer in Engineering Design House of United Energy Pakistan Limited (UEP) with
following major responsibilities under my job description,

 Leading a team of Engineers and Drafting persons to achieve targeted end dates for assigned project tasks.
 Coordination among Client and internal disciplines like Piping and Electrical Department for gathering required
inputs for civil workings.
 Performing field visits for gathering As-built data with respect to Civil working scope.
 Preparation of detailed design calculations &structural drawings for RCC Foundations including Pipe Supports &

Project: GPS CHEMOIL PHASE- 4, OIL STORAGE TERMINAL AT FUJAIRAH, U.A.E.


Client: GPS CHEMOIL
Responsibilities: WORKED AS CIVIL / STRUCTURAL ENGINEER ON THIS PROJECT.

A large EPC Project with the requirement of lot of coordination with internal engineering departments for
gathering Civil / Structural design inputs. I worked as Discipline Engineer with following major responsibilities:

 Performing interdisciplinary coordination and gathering of required design inputs.


 Preparation of detailed engineering design calculation reports and construction drawings for all infrastructures
in Oil Storage Terminal including;
 Large Pipe Manifold Steel Structure with 4 tiers supported on raft foundation (45m x 65m),
 Ring Wall Tank Foundations, Dyke walls and Retaining walls
 Pipe Racks for more than 1.5 km in length, Several Equipment Supporting Structures and their
foundations, Steel Pipe Supports and RCC Sleepers etc.

Project: FEED FOR ABU DHABI INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT (ADIA) AVIATION FUEL DEPOT
Client: TAKREER / ADNOC
Responsibilities: Worked as Civil / Structural Engineer on this project.

This was a FEED Project for TAKREER / ADNOC; end user for this job was ADIA. This project was part of
extension project of Abu Dhabi International Airport with the intention of take care of extended demand of fuel
supply to air craft. I was involved as Discipline Engineer with following major job responsibilities,

 Coordination with internal engineering disciplines for gathering Civil / Structural design inputs.
 Reviewing of Geotechnical Investigation report and setting out soil design parameter for the project.
 Preparation of structural design calculation reports and FEED drawings for Ring Wall foundations for large
diameter tank, Truck Loading and Unloading Gantry Shed, Underground Pump House Steel Shed, Dyke Wall,
Utility RCC Buildings, Substation Building, Pipe Supports, Pipe Racks, Sleepers etc.

Project: NEW SEA WATER BASIN AND INTAKE STRUCTURE


Client: ABU DHABI POLYMERS COMPANY LIMITED (BOROUGE-3 EXPANSION PROJECT)
Responsibilities: Worked as Civil / Structural Engineer on this project.

Coordination with internal engineering disciplines for placing the proposed foundation within the existing plant
facility, detailed engineering design, structural drawings, specifications, design calculation reports and bill of
materials were prepared for this project. Structural design for water retaining concrete basin with dimensions of
70m x 50m, along with the inlet structure, pump and sump chambers mounted with pumps, large manifold valve
chamber pit with dimension of 25m x 30m, Valve and pipe support foundations for 74 inch diameter water header.

Project: SHEET PILE DESIGN FOR REPORTING WHARF AT DUBAI CREEK ENTRANCE
Client: DUBAI MUNICIPALITY
Responsibilities: Worked as Lead Structural Engineer on this project.

Project involved designing of Sheet Pile Wall along the Dubai Creek for the construction of reporting wharf.
Detailed structural and stability calculation for sheet pile wall, tied with tie rods to the anchor wall along with 30
ton bollard, capping beams, waling beams, splice connection etc. were prepared and get approved by Dubai
Municipality.

Designing and preparation of detailed design calculation reports of various civil infrastructures for process and
non-process facilities included in Pipe Line Project including, steel pipe racks, support for skid mounted
equipment, pressure vessels, knockout drums, gas scrubbers, gas filters, vent stacks, foundations for gas
compressors, gas turbine generator, storage tanks, warehouse sheds, workshop sheds equipped with 20 ton
