It is advisable to observe fasting on this day & perform Ghusl

¯al¡t Salm¡n (On the first of Rajab, it is advisable to offer ten units of this prayer separating each couple with a
Tasl¢m. In each unit, one should recite S£rah al-F¡ti¦ah X1 time, S£rah al-Taw¦¢d x 3 times, and S£rah al-K¡fir£n X 3
times. After Tasl¢m, it is recommended to raise the hands up and say the following:

There is no god save Allah, l¡ il¡ha ill¡ all¡hu ‫ﻻ ﭐﻟ ﱠﻠ ُﻪ‬

‫ﻻ ِﺇﻟٰ َﻪ ِﺇ ﱠ‬
َ
the One and Only Who has no
partner. wa¦dah£ l¡ shar¢ka lah£ ُ‫ﻚ ﻟَﻪ‬
َ ‫ﻻ ﺷَﺮِﻳ‬
َ ‫ﺪ ُﻩ‬
َ‫ﺣ‬ْ ‫َﻭ‬
To him is the kingdom and to
Him is all praise. lah£ almulku wa lah£ al¦amdu ُ‫ﻚ ﻭَﻟَﻪُ ﭐﻟْﺤَﻤْﺪ‬
ُ ‫َﻟ ُﻪ ﭐْﻟ ُﻤ ْﻠ‬
He gives life and causes to die yu¦y¢ wa yum¢tu ُ‫ﺤﻴِﻲ ﻭَُﻳﻤِﻴﺖ‬
ْ ‫ُﻳ‬
while He is Ever-living and never
dies. wa huwa ¦ayyun l¡ yam£tu ُ‫ﻻ َﻳﻤُﻮﺕ‬
َ ‫ﻲ‬
‫ﺣ ﱞ‬
َ ‫َﻭ ُﻫ َﻮ‬
In His hand is the good biyadih¢ alkhayru ‫ﺨ ْﻴ ُﺮ‬
َ ‫ﺪ ِﻩ ﭐْﻟ‬
ِ ‫ِﺑ َﻴ‬
and He has power over all things. wa huwa `al¡ kulli shay'in qad¢run ٌ‫ﻲءٍ َﻗﺪِﻳﺮ‬
ْ ‫ﺷ‬
َ ‫ﻞ‬
‫َﻭ ُﻫ َﻮ َﻋ َﻠﻰٰ ُﻛ ﱢ‬
The following litany should be said thereafter:
O Allah, verily, none can ever
divest him whom You decide to all¡humma l¡ m¡ni`a lim¡ a`§ayta َ‫ﻻ ﻣَﺎﻧِﻊَ ِﻟﻤَﺎ ﺍ ﻋْﻄَﻴْﺖ‬
َ ‫ﻢ‬
‫ﺍَﻟ ﱠﻠ ُﻬ ﱠ‬
give,
none can ever give him whom You
decide to deprive, wa l¡ mu`§iya lim¡ mana`ta َ‫ﻻ ﻣُﻌْﻄِﻲَ ﻟِﻤَﺎ ﻣَﻨَﻌْﺖ‬
َ ‫َﻭ‬
and nothing can ever stop that wa l¡ yanfa`u dhaljaddi minka
which You decide. aljadda
‫ﻚ ﭐﻟْﺠَﺪﱠ‬
َ ‫ﺪ ِﻣ ْﻨ‬
‫ﺠﱢ‬َ ‫ﻊ ﺫَﺍ ﭐْﻟ‬
ُ ‫ﻻ َﻳ ْﻨ َﻔ‬
َ ‫َﻭ‬
Then, one should pass the hands over the face and submit his requests. 
It is Recommended to recite this supplication, for this day, that is mentioned in the book of ‘Iqbal al-A`mal’
O Allah: I verily beseech You, O Allah; O  all¡humma inny as-aluka
Allah; O Allah;  y¡ all¡hu y¡ all¡hu y¡ ،‫ﷲ‬
ُ ‫ﷲ ﻳﺎ ﺍ‬
ُ ‫ﷲ ﻳﺎ ﺍ‬
ُ ‫ﻚ ﻳﺎ ﺍ‬
َ ‫ﻢ ﺇﱢﻧﻲ ﺃﺳْﺄُﻟ‬
‫ﺍَﻟ ﱠﻠ ُﻬ ﱠ‬
all¡hu,
You are Allah; the Eternal, Whose Great 
anta all¡hu alqad¢mu al-
Kingdom is everlasting.  azaliyyu almaliki al`a¨¢mi,
،‫ﻢ‬
ِ ‫ﻚ ﺍﻟ َﻌﻈﻴ‬
ِ ‫ﻲ ﺍْﻟ َﻤ ِﻠ‬
‫ﻢ ﺍﻷ َﺯِﻟ ﱡ‬
ُ ‫ﷲ ﺍﻟ َﻘﺪﻳ‬
ُ ‫ﺖﺍ‬
َ ‫ﺃْﻧ‬
You are Allah; the Ever‐living, the Self‐
Subsisting, the Master, the All‐hearing, 
anta all¡hu al¦ayyu ‫ﻊ‬
ُ ‫ﻟﺴــ ﻤﻴ‬
‫ﻲ ﺍﻟ َﻘ ﱡﻴﻮ ُﻡ ﺍْﻟ َﻤ ْﻮ ﻟﻰ ﺍ ﱠ‬
‫ﺤ ﱡ‬
َ ‫ﷲ ﺍﻟ‬
ُ ‫ﺖﺍ‬
َ ْ‫ﺃﻧ‬
alqayy£mu almawl¡
and the All‐seeing.  alssam¢`u alba¥¢ru, ،‫ﺍﻟ َﺒﺼﻴ ُﺮ‬
O He to Whose Godhead, might and 
majesty  y¡ mani al`izzu wal-jal¡lu, ،‫ﻝ‬
ُ ‫ﺠﻼ‬
َ ‫ﻦ ﺍﻟ ِﻌ ﱡﺰ َﻭﺍﻟ‬
ِ ‫ﻳﺎ َﻣ‬
And grandeur and greatness   wal-kibriy¡‘u wal-
`a¨amatu,
،‫ﻈ َﻤ ُﺔ‬
َ ‫ﻜ ْﺒ ِﺮﻳﺎ ُء َﻭﺍﻟ َﻌ‬
ِ ‫َﻭﺍﻟ‬
And power and knowledge and potency  wal-quwwatu wal-`ilmu
wal-qudratu,
،‫ﺪ َﺭ ُﺓ‬
ْ ‫ﻢ َﻭﺍﻟ ُﻘ‬
ُ ‫َﻭﺍﻟ ُﻘ ﱠﻮ ُﺓ َﻭﺍﻟ ِﻌ ْﻠ‬
And light and spirit  wal-nn£ru wal-rr£¦u, ،‫ﺡ‬
ُ ‫َﻭﺍﻟ ﱡﻨﻮ ُﺭ َﻭﺍﻟ ﱡﺮﻭ‬
And volition and tenderness and mercy 
and lordship—all these belong to His 
wal-mash¢’atu wal-¦an¡nu ‫ﻚ‬
ُ ْ‫ﺣ َﻤ ُﺔ َﻭﺍ ﻟ ُﻤﻠ‬
ْ ‫ﻥ َﻭﺍ ﻟ ﱠﺮ‬
ُ ‫ﺤ ﻨﺎ‬
َ ‫َﻭﺍْﻟ َﻤﺸــ ﻴ َﺌ ُﺔ َﻭﺍ ﻟ‬
wal-rra¦matu wal-mulku
Godhead.  lirub£biyyatihi, ،‫ِﻟ ُﺮﺑﻮِﺑ ﱠﻴ ِﺘ ِﻪ‬

To Your light, all lights glowed;  n£ruka ashraqa lahu kullu
n£rin,
،‫ﻞ ﻧﻮ ٍﺭ‬
‫ﻕ َﻟ ُﻪ ُﻛ ﱡ‬
َ ‫ﺷ َﺮ‬
ْ ‫ﻙﺃ‬
َ ‫ﻧﻮ ُﺭ‬
And all fires abated;  wa khamada lahu kullu
n¡rin,
،‫ﻞ ﻧﺎ ٍﺭ‬
‫ﺪ َﻟ ُﻪ ُﻛ ﱡ‬
َ ‫ﺧ َﻤ‬
َ ‫َﻭ‬
And all darkness submitted.  w¡n¦a¥ara lahu kullu
al¨¨ulum¡ti.
.‫ﺕ‬
ِ ‫ﻈ ُﻠﻤﺎ‬
‫ﻞ ﺍﻟ ﱡ‬
‫ﺼ َﺮ َﻟ ُﻪ ُﻛ ﱡ‬
َ ‫ﺤ‬
َ ‫ﻭﺍْﻧ‬
I beseech You by Your Name that You 
derived from You eternity and  infinity 
as-aluka bismika alladhy ‫ﻚ‬
َ ِ‫ﺪﻣ‬
َ ‫ﻦ ِﻗ‬
ْ ‫ﻚ ﺍﻟﱠﺬﻱ ﺍ ْﺷ َﺘ َﻘ ْﻘ َﺘ ُﻪ ِﻣ‬
َ ‫ﻚ ﺑﺎ ْﺳ ِﻤ‬
َ ‫ﺃ ْﺳﺄُﻟ‬
ishtaqaqtahu min qidamika
and light;   wa azalika wa n£rika, ،‫ﻙ‬
َ ‫ﻚ َﻭﻧﻮ ِﺭ‬
َ ‫َﻭﺃ َﺯِﻟ‬
And by the Grandest Name that You  wa b¡lismi al-a`¨ami
derived from Your grandeur and  alladhy ishtaqaqtahu min
‫ﻦ‬
ْ ‫ﺍﺷــ َﺘ َﻘﻘْﺘَ ُﻪ ِﻣ‬
ْ ‫ﻢ ﺍﻟﱠﺬﻱ‬
ِ‫ﻈ‬
َ ‫ﻢ ﺍﻷ ْﻋ‬
ِ ‫ﺑﺎﻹﺳــ‬
ْ ‫َﻭ‬
kibriy¡’ika wa jabar£tika
omnipotence and greatness and might; 
wa `a¨amatika wa `izzika,
،‫ﻙ‬
َ ‫ﻚ َﻭ ِﻋ ﱢﺰ‬
َ ‫ﻈ َﻤ ِﺘ‬
َ ‫ﻚ َﻭ َﻋ‬
َ ‫ﺟ َﺒﺮﻭِﺗ‬
َ ‫ﻚ َﻭ‬
َ ‫ِﻛ ْﺒ ِﺮﻳﺎِﺋ‬
And by Your magnanimity that You  wa bijuwdika alladhy
derived from Your mercy;  ishtaqaqtahu min ،‫ﻚ‬
َ ‫ﺣ َﻤ ِﺘ‬
ْ ‫ﻦ َﺭ‬
ْ ‫ﺷ َﺘ َﻘ ْﻘ َﺘ ُﻪ ِﻣ‬
ْ ‫ﻙ ﺍﻟﱠﺬﻱ ﺍ‬
َ ‫ﺠﻮ ِﺩ‬
ُ ‫َﻭِﺑ‬
ra¦matika,
And by Your mercy that You derived 
wa bira¦matika allaty
from Your clemency;  ishtaqaqtah¡ min rafatika,
،‫ﻚ‬
َ ‫ﻦ َﺭﺃ َﻓ ِﺘ‬
ْ ‫ﺷ َﺘ َﻘ ْﻘ َﺘﻬﺎ ِﻣ‬
ْ ‫ﻚ ﺍﱠﻟﺘﻲ ﺍ‬
َ ‫ﺣ َﻤ ِﺘ‬
ْ ‫َﻭِﺑ َﺮ‬
And by Your clemency that You derived 
wa birafatika allaty
from Your magnanimity;  ishtaqaqtah¡ min j£dika,
،‫ﻙ‬
َ ‫ﻦ ﺟﻮ ِﺩ‬
ْ ‫ﺷ َﺘ َﻘ ْﻘ َﺘﻬﺎ ِﻣ‬
ْ ‫ﻚ ﺍﱠﻟﺘﻲ ﺍ‬
َ ‫َﻭِﺑ َﺮﺃ َﻓ ِﺘ‬
And by Your magnanimity that You 
wa bij£dika alladhy
derived from Your knowledge of the  ishtaqaqtahu min ،‫ﻚ‬
َ ‫ﻦ َﻏ ْﻴ ِﺒ‬
ْ ‫ﺷ َﺘ َﻘ ْﻘ َﺘ ُﻪ ِﻣ‬
ْ ‫ﻙ ﺍﻟﱠﺬﻱ ﺍ‬
َ ‫َﻭِﺑﺠﻮ ِﺩ‬
unseen;  ghaybika,

And by Your knowledge of the unseen, 
and Your comprehension of all things,  wa bighaybika wa i¦¡§atika ‫ﻚ‬
َ ِ‫ﻚ َﻭ َﺩﻭﺍﻣ‬
َ ‫ﻚ َﻭ ِﻗﻴــﺎ ِﻣ‬
َ ‫ﻚ َﻭﺇﺣــﺎ َﻃ ِﺘ‬
َ ‫َﻭِﺑ َﻐ ْﻴ ِﺒ‬
and Your subsistence, and Your  wa qiy¡mika wa daw¡mika

perpetuity, and Your eternity. 
wa qidamika. .‫ﻚ‬
َ ‫ﺪ ِﻣ‬
َ ‫َﻭ ِﻗ‬
And I beseech You by all of Your Most 
wa as-aluka bijam¢`i
Excellent Names.  asm¡’ika al¦usn¡
‫ﺴﻨﻰ‬
ْ ‫ﺤ‬
ُ ‫ﻚ ﺍْﻟ‬
َ ‫ﺳﻤﺎِﺋ‬
ْ ‫ﻊﺃ‬
ِ ‫ﺠ ِﻤﻴ‬
َ ‫ﻚ ِﺑ‬
َ ‫َﻭﺃﺳْﺄُﻟ‬
There is no god save You; the One, the 
One and Only, the Unique, the Besought 
l¡ il¡ha ill¡ anta al-w¡¦idu ‫ﺪ‬
ُ َ‫ﺍﻟﺼــﻤ‬
‫ﺪ ﺍﻟ َﻔ ْﺮ ُﺩ ﱠ‬
ُ‫ﺣ‬َ ‫ﺪ ﺍﻷ‬
ُ‫ﺣ‬ِ ‫ﺖ ﺍﻟﻮﺍ‬
َ ْ‫ﻻ ﺃﻧ‬
ّ ‫ﻻ ﺇَﻟ َﻪ ﺇ‬
al-a¦adu alfardu al¥¥amadu
of all, the Ever‐living,  al¦ayyu, ،‫ﻲ‬
‫ﺤ ﱡ‬
َ ‫ﺍﻟ‬
The Foremost of all things, the Last, the 
al-awwalu al-¡khiru
Evident, the Immanent.  al¨¨¡hiru alb¡§inu
،‫ﻦ‬
ُ ‫ﻈﺎ ِﻫ ُﺮ ﺍﻟﺒﺎ ِﻃ‬
ّ ‫ﺧ ُﺮ ﺍﻟ‬
ِ ‫ﻝ ﺍﻵ‬
ُ ‫ﺍﻷ ﱠﻭ‬
To You do belong all great names,  wa laka kullu asmin
`a¨¢min,
،‫ﻢ‬
ٍ ‫ﻢ َﻋﻈﻴ‬
ٍ‫ﺳ‬
ْ ‫ﻞﺍ‬
‫ﻚ ُﻛ ﱡ‬
َ ‫َﻭَﻟ‬
And all lights and unseen things,  wa kullu n£rin wa ghaybin, ،‫ﺐ‬
ٍ ْ‫َﻭﻛُﻞﱡ ﻧﻮﺭٍ َﻭ َﻏﻴ‬
And all knowledge and all known things,  wa `ilmin wa ma`l£min, ،ٍ‫َﻭ ِﻋﻠْﻢٍ َﻭﻣَﻌْﻠﻮﻡ‬
And all kingdoms and all affairs.  wa mulkin wa sha’nin, ،ٍ‫ﻚ َﻭﺷَﺄﻥ‬
ٍ ْ‫َﻭﻣُﻠ‬

And due to that there is no god save You, 
You have been Holy and Elevated in high 
wa bil¡ il¡ha ill¡ anta ‫ﺖ ُﻋ ُﻠ ّﻮﴽ‬
َ ‫ﺖ َﻭَﺗ ﻌﺎَﻟ ْﻴ‬
َ ‫ﺳــ‬
ْ‫ﺪ‬‫ﺖ َﺗ َﻘ ﱠ‬
َ ْ‫ﻻ ﺃﻧ‬
ّ ‫َﻭِﺑﻼ ﺇَﻟ َﻪ ﺇ‬
taqaddasta wa ta`¡layta
exaltation.  `uluwwan kab¢ran. .‫َﻛﺒﻴﺮﴽ‬
O Allah: I beseech You by all names that 
are Yours; names that are pure and 
all¡humma inny as-aluka ‫ﻚ ﻃﺎ ِﻫ ٌﺮ‬
َ ‫ﻢ ُﻫ َﻮ َﻟ‬
ٍ ‫ﻞ ﺍ ْﺳ‬
‫ﻜ ﱢ‬
ُ ‫ﻚ ِﺑ‬
َ ‫ﻢ ﺇﻧّﻲ ﺃ ْﺳﺄُﻟ‬
‫ﺍَﻟ ّﻠ ُﻬ ﱠ‬
bikulli asmin huwa laka
immaculate  §¡hirun mu§ahharun, ،‫ﻄ ﱠﻬ ٌﺮ‬
َ ‫ُﻣ‬
And wholesome and blessed and holy;  §ayyibun mub¡rakun
muqaddasun,
،‫ﺱ‬
ٌ ‫ﺪ‬
‫ﻙ ُﻣ َﻘ ﱠ‬
ٌ ‫ﺐ ُﻣﺒﺎ َﺭ‬
ٌ ‫َﻃ ﱢﻴ‬
Whether You revealed in Your Books, or 
You added to the Reminder that You 
anzaltahu fy kutubika wa ‫ﺬ ْﻛ ِﺮ‬
‫ﺟ َﺮْﻳ َﺘ ُﻪ ﻓﻲ ﺍ ﻟ ﱢ‬
ْ ‫ﻚ َﻭﺃ‬
َ ‫ﺃْﻧ َﺰْﻟ َﺘ ُﻪ ﻓﻲ ُﻛ ُﺘ ِﺒ‬
ajraytahu fy aldhdhikri
keep,  `indaka, ،‫ﻙ‬
َ ‫ﺪ‬
َ ‫ِﻋ ْﻨ‬
Or You used it with any of Your creatures 
wa tasammayta bihi liman
that You willed  sh’ita min khalqika
‫ﻚ‬
َ ‫ﺧ ْﻠ ِﻘ‬
َ ‫ﻦ‬
ْ ‫ﺖ ِﻣ‬
َ ‫ﺷ ْﺌ‬
ِ ‫ﻦ‬
ْ ‫ﺖ ِﺑ ِﻪ ِﻟ َﻤ‬
َ ‫ﺴ ﱠﻤ ْﻴ‬
َ ‫َﻭَﺗ‬
aw sa-alaka bihi a¦adun
Or by which any of Your angels or 
Prophets and Messengers besought You 
min mal¡’ikatika wa ‫ﻚ‬
َ ‫ﻚ َﻭﺃْﻧ ِﺒ ﻴﺎِﺋ‬
َ ‫ﻜ ِﺘ‬
َ ‫ﻦ َﻣﻼِﺋ‬
ْ ‫ﺪ ِﻣ‬
ٌ‫ﺣ‬َ ‫ﻚ ِﺑ ِﻪ ﺃ‬
َ ‫ﺳــﺄَﻟ‬
َ ‫ﺃ ْﻭ‬
anbiy¡’ika wa rusulika
for granting him a welfare, and You did,  bikhayrin tu`§¢hi ،‫ﻄ ْﻴ َﺘ ُﻪ‬
َ ‫ﺨ ْﻴ ٍﺮ ُﺗ ْﻌﻄﻴ ِﻪ َﻓﺄ ْﻋ‬
َ ‫ﻚ ِﺑ‬
َ ‫ﺳ ِﻠ‬
ُ ‫َﻭ ُﺭ‬
fa`§aytahu,
Or for saving him from an evil, and You 
aw sharrin ta¥rifuhu
did,  fa¥araftahu,
،‫ﺼ َﺮ ْﻓ َﺘ ُﻪ‬
َ ‫ﺼ ِﺮ ُﻓ ُﻪ َﻓ‬
ْ ‫ﺷ ﱟﺮ َﺗ‬
َ ‫ﺃ ْﻭ‬
And I thus should beseech You by that 
name.  yanbaghy an as-alaka bihi. .‫ﻚ ِﺑ ِﻪ‬
َ ‫ﻥ ﺃﺳْﺄَﻟ‬
ْ ‫َﻳ ْﻨ َﺒﻐﻲ ﺃ‬
Hence, I beseech You, O my Lord, to give  fa as-aluka y¡ rabbi an
me victory over my enemies and make  tan¥urany `al¡ a`d¡’y wa
‫ﻥ َﺗ ْﻨ ُﺼ َﺮﻧﻲ َﻋﻠﻰ ﺃ ْﻋﺪﺍﺋﻲ‬
ْ ‫ﺏﺃ‬
‫ﻚ ﻳﺎ َﺭ ﱢ‬
َ ‫ﻓﺄ ْﺳﺄُﻟ‬
taghliba dhikry `al¡
my perception overcome my oblivion.   
nisy¡n¢,
،‫ﺴﻴﺎﻧﻲ‬
ْ ‫ﺐ ِﺫ ْﻛﺮﻱ َﻋﻠﻰ ِﻧ‬
َ ‫َﻭَﺗ ْﻐ ِﻠ‬
O Allah: (please) give my intellect a  all¡humma ij`al li`aqly ‫ﺳــﻠْ ﻄﺎ ﻧﴼ‬
ُ ‫ﻱ‬
َ ‫ﺟ َﻌﻞْ ﻟِﻌَﻘْﻠﻲ ﻋَﻠﻰ ﻫَﻮﺍ‬
ْ‫ﻢﺇ‬
‫ﺍَﻟ ّﻠ ُﻬ ﱠ‬
manifest proof against my lusts,  `al¡ haw¡ya sul§¡nan
mub¢nan, ،‫ُﻣﺒﻴﻨﴼ‬
And attach my choices to appositeness,  wa iqrin akhtiy¡ry
bi¡lttawf¢qi,
،‫ﻖ‬
ِ ‫ﺧ ِﺘﻴﺎﺭﻱ ِﺑﺎﻟ ﱠﺘ ْﻮﻓﻴ‬
ْ ‫ﻥﺍ‬
ْ ‫َﻭﺇ ْﻗ ِﺮ‬
And decide piety to be my companion,  wij`al ¥¡¦iby alttaqw¡, ،‫ﺣﺒﻲ ﺍﻟ ﱠﺘ ْﻘﻮﻯ‬
ِ ‫ﻞ ﺻﺎ‬
ْ ‫ﺟ َﻌ‬
ْ ‫ﻭﺇ‬
And arouse me to thank You for Your 
wa awzi`ny shukraka `al¡
gifts,  maw¡hibika.
.‫ﻚ‬
َ ‫ﻙ َﻋﻠﻰ َﻣﻮﺍ ِﻫ ِﺒ‬
َ ‫ﻜ َﺮ‬
ْ‫ﺷ‬
ُ ‫َﻭﺃ ْﻭ ِﺯ ْﻋﻨﻲ‬
And, O Allah; guide me through Your  w¡hdny all¡humma
true guidance to Your straight course  bihud¡ka il¡ sab¢lika
‫ﻢ‬
ِ ‫ﻚ ﺍﻟ ُﻤ ِﻘﻴ‬
َ ‫ﻙ ﺇﻟﻰ َﺳﺒﻴ ِﻠ‬
َ ‫ﻢ ِﺑ ُﻬﺪﺍ‬
‫ﻭﺍ ْﻫﺪﻧﻲ ﺍَﻟ ّﻠ ُﻬ ﱠ‬
almuq¢mi wa ¥ir¡§ika
and Your right path. 
almustiq¢mi,
،‫ﻢ‬
ِ ‫ﺴ ِﺘﻘﻴ‬
ْ ‫ﻚ ﺍﻟ ُﻤ‬
َ ‫ﺻﺮﺍ ِﻃ‬
ِ ‫َﻭ‬
And do not make desires control over 
me and thus take me to the way of the 
wa l¡ tamlik zim¡my ‫ﺤ ِﻤ ُﻠﻨﻲ َﻋﻠﻰ‬

‫ﻚ ِﺯﻣﺎﻣﻲ ﺍﻟ ﱠ‬
ْ ‫َﻭﻻ َﺗ ْﻤ ِﻠ‬
alshshahaw¡tu fata¦miluny
disappointed ones,  `al¡ §ar¢qi almakhdh£l¢na, ،‫ﻦ‬
َ ‫ﺨﺬﻭﻟﻴ‬
ْ ‫ﻖ ﺍْﻟ َﻤ‬
ِ ‫َﻃﺮﻳ‬

And intervene between me and the 
wa ¦ul bayny wa bayna
forbidden things,   almunkar¡ti,
،‫ﺕ‬
ِ ‫ﻜﺮﺍ‬
َ ‫ﻦ ﺍﻟ ُﻤ ْﻨ‬
َ ‫ﻞ َﺑ ْﻴﻨﻲ َﻭَﺑ ْﻴ‬
ْ ‫ﺣ‬
ُ ‫َﻭ‬
And decide for me advantageous 
knowledge,  wa ij`al ly `ilman n¡fi`an, ،‫ﻞ ﻟﻲ ِﻋ ْﻠﻤﴼ ﻧﺎ ِﻓﻌﴼ‬
ْ ‫ﺟ َﻌ‬
ْ ‫َﻭﺍ‬
And implant in my heart the love for the 
good; and do not overtake me all of a 
waghris fy qalby ¦ubba ‫ﻑ َﻭﻻ‬
ِ ‫ﺐ ﺍْﻟ َﻤ ْﻌﺮﻭ‬
‫ﺣ ﱠ‬
ُ ‫ﺱ ﻓﻲ َﻗ ﻠ ﺒﻲ‬
ْ ‫َﻭﺃ ْﻏ ِﺮ‬
alma`r£fi wa l¡ takhudhny
sudden,  baghtatan, ،‫ﺬﻧﻲ َﺑ ْﻐ َﺘ ًﺔ‬
ْ‫ﺧ‬ُ ‫َﺗﺄ‬
And accept my repentance; You are 
verily the Oft‐returning to mercy, the  wa tub `al-ayya innaka
anta alttaww¡bu alrra¦¢mu.
.‫ﻢ‬
ُ ‫ﺏ ﺍﻟ ﱠﺮﺣﻴ‬
ُ ‫ﺖ ﺍﻟ ﱠﺘ ّﻮﺍ‬
َ ‫ﻚ ﺃْﻧ‬
َ ‫ﻲ ﺇﱠﻧ‬
‫ﺐ َﻋ َﻠ ﱠ‬
ْ ‫َﻭُﺗ‬
Merciful. 

And (please) acquaint me with the 
wa `arrifny barakata hdh¡
blessing and felicity of this month,  alshshahri wa yumnahu,
،‫ﺸ ْﻬ ِﺮ َﻭُﻳ ْﻤ َﻨ ُﻪ‬
‫َﻭ َﻋ ﱢﺮ ْﻓﻨﻲ َﺑ َﺮ َﻛ َﺔ ﻫﺬﺍ ﺍﻟ ﱠ‬
And confer upon me with its good and 
warzuqny khayrahu w¡¥rif
keep away from me its evil,  `anny sharrahu,
،‫ﺷ ﱠﺮ ُﻩ‬
َ ‫ﻑ َﻋ ّﻨﻲ‬
ْ ‫ﺻ ِﺮ‬
ْ ‫ﺧ ْﻴ َﺮ ُﻩ َﻭﺍ‬
َ ‫َﻭﺍ ْﺭ ُﺯ ْﻗﻨﻲ‬
And protect me against what is peril in it,  wa qiny alma¦dh£ra f¢hi, ،‫َﻭﻗِﻨﻲ ﺍﻟْ َﻤﺤْﺬﻭ َﺭ ﻓﻴ ِﻪ‬
And help me do that which I like from  wa `inny `al¡ m¡
the carrying out if its duty,  au¦ibbuhu mina alqiy¡mi ،‫ﺤ ﱢﻘ ِﻪ‬
َ ‫ﻦ ﺍﻟ ِﻘﻴﺎ ِﻡ ِﺑ‬
َ ‫ﺣ ﱡﺒ ُﻪ ِﻣ‬
ِ ‫َﻭﺃ ِﻋ ّﻨﻲ َﻋﻠﻰ ﻣﺎ ُﺃ‬
bi¦aqqihi,
And the recognition of its virtue,  wa ma`rifati fa¤lihi, ،‫َﻭﻣَﻌْﺮِﻓَ ِﺔ ﻓَﻀْﻠِ ِﻪ‬
And make me of the winners; O the most  wa ij`alny f¢hi mina ‫ﻢ‬
َ‫ﺣ‬
َ ‫ﻦ ﻳﺎ ﺃ ْﺭ‬
َ ‫ﺟﻌَﻠْ ﻨﻲ ﻓ ﻴ ِﻪ ﻣِﻦَ ﺍ ﻟ ﻔﺎﺋِﺰ ﻳ‬
ْ ‫َﻭﺍ‬
Merciful of all those who show mercy.  alf¡’iz¢na y¡ ar¦ama
alrr¡¦im¢na. .‫ﻦ‬
َ ‫ﺣﻤﻴ‬
ِ ‫ﺍﻟ ّﺮﺍ‬
O Allah: I beseech You by Your Name:  all¡humma inny as-aluka ‫ﻞ‬
ِ ‫ﻝ ﺍﻟﺠَﻠﻴ‬
ِ ‫ﻚ ﺑِﺎ ْﺳﻤِﻚَ ﺍﻟﻤُ َﺘﻌﺎ‬
َ ‫ﻢ ﺇﻧّﻲ ﺃ ْﺳﺄُﻟ‬
‫ﺍَﻟ ّﻠ ُﻬ ﱠ‬
the elevated, the lofty, and the great,   bismika almuta`¡li aljal¢li
al`a¨¢mi, ،‫ﻢ‬
ِ ‫ﺍﻟ َﻌﻈﻴ‬
And by Your Name: the One, the 
wa bismika al-w¡¦idi
Besought of all,  al¥¥amadi,
،‫ﺪ‬
ِ ‫ﺼ َﻤ‬
‫ﺪ ﺍﻟ ﱠ‬
ِ‫ﺣ‬ِ ‫ﻚ ﺍﻟﻮﺍ‬
َ ‫ﺳ ِﻤ‬
ْ ‫َﻭِﺑﺎ‬
And by Your Name: the Almighty, the All‐
high;  wa bismika al`iz¢zi al-a`l¡, ،‫ﻚ ﺍﻟ ِﻌﺰﻳ ِﺰ ﺍﻷ ْﻋﻠﻰ‬
َ ‫ﺳ ِﻤ‬
ْ ‫َﻭِﺑﺎ‬
And by all of Your Most Excellent Names.  wa biasm¡’ika al¦usn¡
kullih¡,
،‫ﺴﻨﻰ ُﻛ ﱢﻠﻬﺎ‬
ْ ‫ﺤ‬
ُ ‫ﻚ ﺍﻟ‬
َ ‫ﺳﻤﺎِﺋ‬
ْ ‫َﻭِﺑﺄ‬
O He before Whom all sounds submit,  y¡ man khasha`at lahu al-
a¥w¡tu
‫ﺕ‬
ُ ‫ﺻﻮﺍ‬
ْ ‫ﺖ َﻟ ُﻪ ﺍﻷ‬
ْ ‫ﺸ َﻌ‬
َ ‫ﺧ‬
َ ‫ﻦ‬
ْ ‫ﻳﺎ َﻣ‬
And all necks yield,  wa kha¤a`at lahu alrriq¡bu ‫ﺏ‬
ُ ‫ﺖ َﻟ ُﻪ ﺍﻟ ﱢﺮﻗﺎ‬
ْ ‫ﻀ َﻌ‬
َ ‫ﺧ‬
َ ‫َﻭ‬
And all heads humble themselves,  wa dhallat lahu al-a`n¡qu, ،‫ﻕ‬
ُ ‫ﺖ َﻟ ُﻪ ﺍﻷ ْﻋﻨﺎ‬
ْ ‫َﻭ َﺫﱠﻟ‬
And all hearts fear,  wa wajilat minhu alqul£bu, ،‫ﺏ‬
ُ ‫ﺖ ِﻣ ْﻨ ُﻪ ﺍﻟ ُﻘﻠﻮ‬
ْ ‫ﺟ َﻠ‬
ِ ‫َﻭ َﻭ‬
And all things surrender,  wa d¡na lahu kullu shay‘in, ،‫ﻲ ٍء‬
ْ ‫ﺷ‬
َ ‫ﻞ‬
‫ﻥ َﻟ ُﻪ ُﻛ ﱡ‬

ُ ‫ﺕ َﻭﺍﻷ ْﺭ‬
ُ ‫ﺴﻤﺎﻭﺍ‬
‫ﺖ ِﺑ ِﻪ ﺍﻟ ﱠ‬
ْ ‫َﻭﻗﺎ َﻣ‬
I bear witness that visions cannot 
Ash-hadu annaka l¡
comprehend You,  tudrikuka al-ab¥¡ru
‫ﻚ ﺍﻷْﺑﺼﺎ ُﺭ‬
َ ‫ﺪ ِﺭ ُﻛ‬
ْ ‫ﻚ ﻻ ُﺗ‬
َ ‫ﺪ ﺃﱠﻧ‬
ُ ‫ﺷ َﻬ‬
ْ‫ﺃ‬
While You comprehend all visions,  wa anta tudriku al-ab¥¡ra ‫ﻙ ﺍﻷْﺑﺼﺎ َﺭ‬
ُ ‫ﺪ ِﺭ‬
ْ ‫ﺖ ُﺗ‬
َ ‫ﻭﺃْﻧ‬
And You are the Knower of subtleties, 
the All‐aware.  wa anta alla§¢fu alkhab¢ru. .‫ﺨ ِﺒﻴ ُﺮ‬
َ ‫ﻒ ﺍﻟ‬
ُ ‫ﺖ ﺍﻟ َﻠﻄﻴ‬
َ ‫ﻭﺃْﻧ‬
O the Lord of (Archangels) Gabriel and 
y¡ rabba jibra’¢la wa
Michael and Isr¡f¢l  m¢k¡’¢la wa isr¡f¢la,
،‫ﻞ‬
َ ‫ﺳﺮﺍﻓﻴ‬
ْ ‫ﻞ َﻭﺇ‬
َ ‫ﻞ َﻭﻣﻴﻜﺎﺋﻴ‬
َ ‫ﺟ ْﺒ َﺮﺋﻴ‬
ِ ‫ﺏ‬
‫ﻳﺎ َﺭ ﱠ‬
And all the favorite angles and the  wa jam¢`i almal¡’ikati
Cherubim and the noble, recording  almuqarrab¢na wal-
‫ﻦ‬
َ ‫ﻜﺮﻭِﺑ ّﻴ ﻴ‬
ُ ‫ﻦ َﻭﺍ ﻟ‬
َ ‫ﻜ ِﺔ ﺍ ﻟ ُﻤ َﻘ ﱠﺮ ﺑ ﻴ‬
َ ‫ﻊ ﺍْﻟ َﻤﻼِﺋ‬
ِ ‫ﺟﻤﻴ‬
َ ‫َﻭ‬
kur£biyy¢na wal-kir¡mi
angles 
alk¡tib¢na,
،‫ﻦ‬
َ ‫ﻜﺮﺍ ِﻡ ﺍﻟﻜﺎِﺗﺒﻴ‬
ِ ‫َﻭﺍﻟ‬
And all the angels that praise You, 
wa jam¢`i almal¡’ikati
declaring Your praiseworthiness,  almusabbi¦¢na bi¦amdika,
،‫ﻙ‬
َ ‫ﺪ‬
ِ ‫ﺤ ْﻤ‬
َ ‫ﻦ ِﺑ‬
َ ‫ﺴ ﱢﺒﺤﻴ‬
َ ‫ﻜ ِﺔ ﺍﻟ ُﻤ‬
َ ‫ﻊ ﺍْﻟ َﻤﻼِﺋ‬
ِ ‫ﺟﻤﻴ‬
َ ‫َﻭ‬
And the Lord of Adam and Shayth and 
wa rabba ¡dama wa sh¢§hin
Idr¢s   wa idr¢sa,
،‫ﺲ‬
َ ‫ﺚ َﻭﺇ ْﺩﺭﻳ‬
ٍ ‫ﺏ ﺁ َﺩ َﻡ َﻭﺷﻴ‬
‫َﻭ َﺭ ﱠ‬
And Noah and H£d and ˉ¡li¦   wa n£¦in wa h£din
w¥¡li¦in,
،‫ﺢ‬
ٍ ‫ﺡ َﻭﻫﻮ ٍﺩ ﻭﺻﺎِﻟ‬
ٍ ‫َﻭﻧﻮ‬
And Abraham and Ishmael  wa ibr¡h¢ma wa ism¡`¢la ‫ﻞ‬
َ ‫ﺳﻤﺎﻋﻴ‬
ْ ‫ﻢ َﻭﺇ‬
َ ‫َﻭﺇْﺑﺮﺍﻫﻴ‬
And Isaac and Lot  wa is¦¡qa wa l£§in, ،‫ﻁ‬
ٍ ‫ﻕ َﻭﻟﻮ‬
َ ‫ﺳﺤﺎ‬
ْ ‫َﻭﺇ‬
And Jacob and Joseph and the Tribes  wa ya`q£ba wa y£sufa
wal-asb¡§i
‫ﻁ‬
ِ ‫ﺳﺒﺎ‬
ْ ‫ﻒ َﻭﺍﻷ‬
َ ‫ﺳ‬
ُ ‫ﺏ َﻭﻳﻮ‬
َ ‫َﻭَﻳ ْﻌﻘﻮ‬
And Job and Moses  wa ayy£ba wa m£s¡ ‫ﺏ َﻭﻣﻮﺳﻰ‬
َ ‫َﻭﺃّﻳﻮ‬
And Aaron and Shu`ayb  wa h¡r£na wa shu`aybin, ،ٍ‫ﻥ َﻭﺷُﻌﻴﺐ‬
َ ‫َﻭﻫﺎﺭﻭ‬
And David and Solomon and Jeremiah  wa d¡w£da wa sulaym¡na
wa irmiy¡,
،‫ﻥ َﻭﺇ ْﺭ ِﻣﻴﺎ‬
َ ‫ﺳ َﻠ ْﻴﻤﺎ‬
ُ ‫َﻭﺩﺍﻭﻭ َﺩ َﻭ‬
And Ezra and Ezekiel  wa `uzayrin wa ¦izq¢la, ،‫ﻞ‬
َ ‫ﺣ ْﺰﻗﻴ‬
ِ ‫َﻭ ُﻋ َﺰْﻳ ٍﺮ َﻭ‬
And Joshua and Elias   wa sha`y¡ wa ily¡sa, ،‫ﺱ‬
َ ‫ﺷ ْﻌﻴﺎ َﻭﺇْﻟﻴﺎ‬
َ ‫َﻭ‬
And Elisha and Jonah and Dhu’l‐Kifl  wa ilyasa`a wa y£nusa wa
dhy alkifli,
،‫ﻞ‬
ِ ‫ﻜ ْﻔ‬
ِ ‫ﺲ َﻭﺫﻱ ﺍﻟ‬
َ ‫ﻊ َﻭﻳﻮُﻧ‬
َ‫ﺴ‬َ ‫َﻭﺇﻟ َﻴ‬
And Zachariah and John  wa zakariyy¡ wa ya¦y¡, ،‫ﺤﻴﻰ‬
ْ ‫َﻭ َﺯ َﻛ ِﺮّﻳﺎ َﻭَﻳ‬
And Jesus and Georges  wa `¢s¡ wa jirj¢sa, ،‫ﺲ‬
َ ‫ﺟ ْﺮﺟﻴ‬
ِ ‫َﻭﻋﻴﺴﻰ َﻭ‬
And Mu¦ammad, peace of Allah be upon 
wa mu¦ammadin ¥all¡
him and upon them all,  all¡hu `al-ayhim ajma`¢na,
،‫ﻦ‬
َ ‫ﺟ َﻤﻌﻴ‬
ْ ‫ﻢﺃ‬
ْ ‫ﷲ َﻋ َﻠ ْﻴ ِﻬ‬

And peace be upon the favorite angels of 
wa `al¡ mal¡’ikati allhi
Allah  almuqarrab¢na

َ ‫ﷲ ﺍﻟ ُﻤ َﻘ ﱠﺮﺑﻴ‬
ِ ‫ﻜ ِﺔ ﺍ‬
َ ‫َﻭ َﻋﻠﻰ َﻣﻼِﺋ‬

And upon all the angels who praise Him,  wa jam¢`i al-aml¡ki
almusabbi¦¢na
‫ﻦ‬
َ ‫ﺴ ﱢﺒﺤﻴ‬
َ ‫ﻙ ﺍﻟ ُﻤ‬
ِ ‫ﻊ ﺍﻷ ْﻣﻼ‬
ِ ‫ﺟﻤﻴ‬
َ ‫َﻭ‬
And thorough benediction be upon 
wa sallama tasl¢man
them.  ka§h¢ran.
.‫ﺴﻠﻴﻤﴼ َﻛﺜﻴﺮﴽ‬
ْ ‫ﻢ َﺗ‬
َ ‫َﻭﺳ ﱠﻠ‬
You are our Lord; the Foremost of all, 
anta rabbun¡ al-awwalu
the Last of all,  al¡khiru,
،‫ﺧ ُﺮ‬
ِ ‫ﻝ ﺍﻵ‬
ُ ‫ﺖ َﺭﱡﺑﻨﺎ ﺍﻷ ﱠﻭ‬
َ ‫ﺃْﻧ‬
The Evident, the Immanent,  ¡l¨¨¡hiru alb¡§inu ،ُ‫ﻈﺎ ِﻫﺮُ ﺍﻟﺒﺎ ِﻃﻦ‬
ّ ‫ﺍﻟ‬
It is You Who created the heavens and 
¡lladhy khalaqta
the layers of the earth  alssam¡w¡ti wal-ara¤¢na
‫ﻦ‬
َ ‫ﺕ َﻭﺍﻷ َﺭﺿﻴ‬
ِ ‫ﺴﻤﺎﻭﺍ‬
‫ﺖ ﺍﻟ ﱠ‬
َ ‫ﺧ َﻠ ْﻘ‬
َ ‫ﺍﻟﱠﺬﻱ‬
And You then established Yourself on the 
§humma astawayta `al¡
(Divine) Glorious Throne  al`arshi almaj¢di,
،‫ﺪ‬
ِ ‫ﺵ ﺍْﻟ َﻤﺠﻴ‬
ِ ‫ﺖ َﻋﻠﻰ ﺍﻟ َﻌ ْﺮ‬
َ ‫ﺳ َﺘ َﻮْﻳ‬
ْ ‫ﻢﺍ‬
‫ُﺛ ﱠ‬
By Your Most Excellent Names, You 
originate (creation) and then reproduce  biasm¡’ika al¦usn¡ tubd’iu
wa tu`¢du,
،‫ﺪ‬
ُ ‫ﺉ َﻭُﺗﻌﻴ‬
ُ ‫ﺪ‬
ِ ‫ﺴﻨﻰ ُﺗ ْﺒ‬
ْ ‫ﺤ‬
ُ ‫ﻚ ﺍﻟ‬
َ ‫ﺳﻤﺎِﺋ‬
ْ ‫ِﺑﺄ‬
it, 

And You cover the night with the day,  wa tughshy allayla

which is in haste to follow it,  alnnah¡ra ya§lubuhu ،‫ﺣﺜﻴﺜﴼ‬
َ ‫ﻄ ُﻠ ُﺒ ُﻪ‬
ْ ‫ﻞ ﺍﻟ ﱠﻨﻬﺎ َﺭ َﻳ‬
َ ‫َﻭُﺗ ْﻐﺸﻲ ﺍﻟ َﻠ ْﻴ‬
¦a§h¢§han,
And the sun and the moon  wal-shshamsu wal-qamaru ‫ﺲ َﻭﺍﻟ َﻘ َﻤ ُﺮ‬
ُ ‫ﺸ ْﻤ‬
‫َﻭﺍﻟ ﱠ‬
And the stars and the orbit  wal-nnuj£mu wal-falaku ‫ﻚ‬
ُ ‫َﻭﺍﻟ ﱡﻨﺠﻮ ُﻡ َﻭﺍﻟ َﻔ َﻠ‬
And the ages and the creation;  wal-dduh£ru wal-khalqu ‫ﻖ‬
ُ ‫ﺨ ْﻠ‬
َ ‫ﺪﻫﻮ ُﺭ َﻭﺍﻟ‬
‫َﻭﺍﻟ ﱡ‬
All these are subservient by Your order.  musakhkhar£na biamrika, ،‫ﻙ‬
َ ‫ﻥ ِﺑﺄ ْﻣ ِﺮ‬
َ ‫ﺨﺮﻭ‬
‫ﺴﱠ‬َ ‫ُﻣ‬
Blessed and Exalted be You, O the Lord 
tab¡rakta wa ta`¡layta y¡
of the worlds.  rabba al`¡lam¢na.

َ ‫ﺏ ﺍﻟﻌﺎَﻟﻤﻴ‬
‫ﺖ ﻳﺎ َﺭ ﱠ‬
َ ‫ﺖ َﻭَﺗﻌﺎَﻟ ْﻴ‬
َ ‫َﺗﺒﺎ َﺭ ْﻛ‬
There is no god save You;  l¡ il¡ha ill¡ anta ‫ﺖ‬
َ ‫ﻻ ﺃْﻧ‬
ّ ‫ﻻ ﺇَﻟ َﻪ ﺇ‬
The All‐tender, the All‐favorer,  ¡l¦ann¡nu almann¡nu ‫ﻥ‬
ُ ‫ﻥ ﺍْﻟ َﻤ ّﻨﺎ‬
ُ ‫ﺤ ّﻨﺎ‬
َ ‫ﺍﻟ‬
The wonderful Maker of the heavens 
bad¢`u alssam¡w¡ti wal-
and the earth,  ar¤i,
،‫ﺽ‬
ِ ‫ﺕ َﻭﺍﻷ ْﺭ‬
ِ ‫ﺴﻤﺎﻭﺍ‬
‫ﻊ ﺍﻟ ﱠ‬
ُ ‫َﺑﺪﻳ‬
The Lord of majesty and honor.  dhw aljal¡li wal-ikr¡mi, ،‫ﻝ َﻭﺍﻹ ْﻛﺮﺍ ِﻡ‬
ِ ‫ﺠﻼ‬
َ ‫ﺫﻭ ﺍﻟ‬
Though the sea became ink for the 
law k¡na alba¦ru mid¡dan
Words of my Lord,   likalim¡ti rabbiy
‫ﺕ َﺭﺑﱢﻲ‬
ِ ‫ﻜ ِﻠﻤَﺎ‬
َ ‫ﺤ ُﺮ ِﻣﺪَﺍﺩﴽ ِﻟ‬
ْ ‫ﻥ ﺍْﻟ َﺒ‬
َ ‫َﻟ ْﻮ ﻛَﺎ‬
Verily, the sea would be used up before 
lanafida alba¦ru qabla an
the words of my Lord were exhausted,   tanfada kalim¡tu rabb¢
‫ﺕ َﺭﺑﱢﻲ‬
ُ ‫ﺪ َﻛ ِﻠﻤَﺎ‬
َ ‫ﻥ ﺗَﻨ َﻔ‬
ْ ‫ﻞ َﺃ‬
َ ‫ﺤ ُﺮ َﻗ ْﺒ‬
ْ ‫ﺪ ﺍْﻟ َﺒ‬
َ ‫َﻟ َﻨ ِﻔ‬
even though We brought the like thereof 
wa law j’in¡ bimi§hlihi
to help.  madadan.
.‫ﺟ ْﺌﻨَﺎ ِﺑ ِﻤ ْﺜ ِﻠ ِﻪ َﻣﺪَﺩﴽ‬

You know the weights of mountains,  ta`lamu ma§h¡q¢la aljib¡li ‫ﻝ‬
ِ ‫ﻞ ﺍﻟﺠِﺒﺎ‬
َ ‫ﻢ ﻣَﺜﺎﻗﻴ‬
ُ َ‫ﺗَﻌْﻠ‬
And the measures of oceans,  wa mak¡’¢la albi¦¡ri ‫ﻞ ﺍﻟﺒِﺤﺎ ِﺭ‬
َ ‫َﻭﻣَﻜﺎﺋﻴ‬
And the number of pebbles,  wa `adada alrrim¡li, ،‫ﻝ‬
ِ ‫َﻭ َﻋﺪَ َﺩ ﺍﻟ ﱢﺮﻣﺎ‬
And the numbers of the drops of rain,  wa qa§ra al-am§¡ri, ،‫ﻄﺮَ ﺍﻷﻣْﻄﺎ ِﺭ‬
ْ َ‫َﻭﻗ‬
And the number of the leaves of trees,  wa waraqa al-ashj¡ri, ،‫ﻕ ﺍﻷﺷْﺠﺎ ِﺭ‬
َ ‫َﻭ َﻭ َﺭ‬
And the number of the stars in the skies,  wa nuj£ma alssam¡‘i ‫َﻭُﻧﺠﻮ َﻡ ﺍﻟﺴﱠﻤﺎ ِء‬
As well as whatever is covered by 
wa m¡ a¨lama `alayhi
darkness of night and whatever is under  allaylu wa ashraqa `alayhi ،‫ﻕ َﻋ َﻠ ْﻴ ِﻪ ﺍﻟ ﱠﻨﻬﺎ ُﺭ‬
َ ‫ﺷ َﺮ‬
ْ ‫ﻞ َﻭﺃ‬
ُ ‫ﻢ َﻋ َﻠ ْﻴ ِﻪ ﺍﻟ َﻠ ْﻴ‬
َ ‫َﻭﻣﺎ ﺃ ْﻇ َﻠ‬
the daylight.  alnnah¡ru,

No sky can screen You from another sky 
l¡ yuw¡ry minka sam¡‘un
and no layer can screen You from  sam¡‘an wa l¡ ar¤un ،‫ﺽ ﺃ ْﺭﺿﴼ‬
ٌ ‫ﺳﻤﺎ ًء َﻭﻻ ﺃ ْﺭ‬
َ ‫ﺳﻤﺎ ٌء‬
َ ‫ﻚ‬
َ ‫ﻻ ُﻳﻮﺍﺭﻱ ِﻣ ْﻨ‬
another layer,  ar¤an,

Neither does any wavy ocean  wa l¡ ba¦run muta§¡biqun, ،‫ﻖ‬

ٌ ‫ﺤ ٌﺮ ُﻣ َﺘﻄﺎِﺑ‬
ْ ‫َﻭﻻ َﺑ‬
Or anything that lies between the 
wa l¡ m¡ bayna saddi
blockage of mendings   alrrut£qi,
،‫ﻕ‬
ِ ‫ﺪ ﺍﻟ ﱡﺮﺗﻮ‬
‫ﺳﱢ‬َ ‫ﻦ‬
َ ‫َﻭﻻ ﻣﺎ َﺑ ْﻴ‬
Or anything of the spread motes that lie 
wa l¡ m¡ fy alqar¡ri mina
in the depths.  alhab¡‘i almab§h£§hi.
.‫ﺙ‬
ِ ‫ﻦ ﺍﻟ َﻬﺒﺎ ِء ﺍْﻟ َﻤ ْﺒﺜﻮ‬
َ ‫َﻭﻻ ﻣﺎ ﻓﻲ ﺍﻟ َﻘﺮﺍ ِﺭ ِﻣ‬
I beseech You by Your Name; the stored, 
as-aluka bismika
the concealed,  almakhz£ni almakn£ni
‫ﻥ‬
ِ ‫ﻜﻨﻮ‬
ْ ‫ﻥ ﺍْﻟ َﻤ‬
ِ ‫ﺨﺰﻭ‬
ْ ‫ﻚ ﺍْﻟ َﻤ‬
َ ‫ﺳ ِﻤ‬
ْ ‫ﻚ ِﺑﺎ‬
َ ‫ﺃﺳْﺄُﻟ‬
The luminous light,  ¡lnn£ri almun¢ri, ،‫ﺍﻟﻨّﻮ ِﺭ ﺍﻟﻤُﻨﻴ ِﺮ‬
The true right,  ¡l¦aqqi almub¢ni, ،‫ﻦ‬
ِ ‫ﺤﻖﱢ ﺍﻟﻤُﺒﻴ‬
َ ْ‫ﺍﻟ‬
Which is light made of light  ¡lladhy hw n£run min n£rin ٍ‫ﺍﻟﱠﺬﻱ ﻫﻮ ﻧﻮ ٌﺭ ﻣِﻦْ ﻧﻮﺭ‬
And light on light,  wa n£run `al¡ n£rin, ،ٍ‫َﻭﻧﻮ ٌﺭ ﻋَﻠﻰ ﻧﻮﺭ‬
And light over all lights,  wa n£run fawqa kulli n£rin, ،ٍ‫ﻕ ﻛُﻞﱢ ﻧﻮﺭ‬
َ ‫َﻭﻧﻮ ٌﺭ ﻓَ ْﻮ‬
And light with all lights,  wa n£run ma`a kulli n£rin, ،ٍ‫َﻭﻧﻮ ٌﺭ ﻣَﻊَ ﻛُﻞﱢ ﻧﻮﺭ‬
And to Your Name does belong the 
entire light.  wa lahu kullu n£rin, ،‫ﻞ ﻧﻮ ٍﺭ‬
‫َﻭَﻟ ُﻪ ُﻛ ﱡ‬
From You, O Lord, is the light,  minka y¡ rabbu alnn£ru, ،‫ﺏ ﺍﻟ ّﻨﻮ ُﺭ‬
‫ﻚ ﻳﺎ َﺭ ﱡ‬
َ ‫ِﻣ ْﻨ‬
And to You does the light return,  wa ilayka yarji`u alnn£ru. .‫ﻊ ﺍﻟ ّﻨﻮ ُﺭ‬
ُ‫ﺟ‬ِ ‫ﻚ َﻳ ْﺮ‬
َ ‫َﻭﺇَﻟ ْﻴ‬
And by Your light are all darknesses lit,  wa bin£rika alladhy tu¤¢‘u
bihi kullu ¨ulmatin,
،‫ﻞ ُﻇ ْﻠ َﻤ ٍﺔ‬
‫ﻙ ﺍﻟﱠﺬﻱ ُﺗﻀﻲ ُء ِﺑ ِﻪ ُﻛ ﱡ‬
َ ‫َﻭِﺑﻨﻮ ِﺭ‬
And by Your Name is the trick of all 
wa tab§ulu bihi kaydu kulli
rebellious devils made ineffective,  shay§¡nin mar¢din,
،‫ﺪ‬
ٍ ‫ﻥ َﻣﺮﻳ‬
ٍ ‫ﺷ ْﻴﻄﺎ‬
َ ‫ﻞ‬
‫ﺪ ُﻛ ﱢ‬
ُ ‫ﻞ ِﺑ ِﻪ َﻛ ْﻴ‬
ُ ‫ﻄ‬
ُ ‫َﻭَﺗ ْﺒ‬

And by Your Name are all the obstinate 
wa tadhullu bihi kullu
tyrants humiliated,  jabb¡rin `an¢din,
،‫ﺪ‬
ٍ ‫ﺟ ّﺒﺎ ٍﺭ َﻋﻨﻴ‬
َ ‫ﻞ‬
‫ﻝ ِﺑ ِﻪ ُﻛ ﱡ‬
‫ﺬﱡ‬ُ ‫َﻭَﺗ‬
And nothing can stand with it against 
wa l¡ yaq£mu lahu shay‘un
Your will,  min khalqika
‫ﻚ‬
َ ‫ﺧ ْﻠ ِﻘ‬
َ ‫ﻦ‬
ْ ‫ﻲ ٌء ِﻣ‬
ْ ‫ﺷ‬
َ ‫َﻭﻻ َﻳﻘﻮ ُﻡ َﻟ ُﻪ‬
And because of its grandeur, the lands  wa yata¥adda`u
and the oceans are split,  li`a¨amatihi albarru wal- ،‫ﺤ ُﺮ‬
ْ ‫ﻈ َﻤ ِﺘ ِﻪ ﺍﻟ َﺒ ﱡﺮ َﻭﺍﻟ َﺒ‬
َ ‫ﻉ ِﻟ َﻌ‬
ُ‫ﺪ‬‫ﺼﱠ‬
َ ‫َﻭَﻳ َﺘ‬
ba¦ru,
And angels keep silent when there is 
wa tastaqillu almal¡’ikatu
speech about it,  ¦¢na yatakallamu bihi,
،‫ﻢ ِﺑ ِﻪ‬
ُ ‫ﻜ ﱠﻠ‬
َ ‫ﻦ َﻳ َﺘ‬
َ ‫ﻜ ُﺔ ﺣﻴ‬
َ ‫ﻞ ﺍْﻟ َﻤﻼِﺋ‬
‫ﺴ َﺘ ِﻘ ﱡ‬
ْ ‫َﻭَﺗ‬
And due to fear of it, the angels bearing  wa tar`adu min
the Great Throne tremble in awe,  khashyatihi ¦amalatu ‫ﻢ‬
ِ ‫ﺵ ﺍﻟ َﻌﻈﻴ‬
ِ ‫ﺣ َﻤ َﻠ ُﺔ ﺍﻟ َﻌ ْﺮ‬
َ ‫ﺸ َﻴ ِﺘ ِﻪ‬
ْ ‫ﺧ‬
َ ‫ﻦ‬
ْ ‫ﺪ ِﻣ‬
ُ ‫َﻭَﺗ ْﺮ َﻋ‬
al`arshi al`a¨¢mi
so do all those of lower states, down to 
il¡ tukh£mi al-ara¤¢na
those in the lowest layers of the earth.  alssab`i,
،‫ﻊ‬
ِ ‫ﺴ ْﺒ‬
‫ﻦ ﺍﻟ ﱠ‬
َ ‫ﺇﻟﻰ ُﺗﺨﻮ ِﻡ ﺍﻷ َﺭﺿﻴ‬
Through it, oceans burst,  ¡lladhy anfalaqat bihi
albi¦¡ru,
،‫ﺖ ِﺑ ِﻪ ﺍﻟ ِﺒﺤﺎ ُﺭ‬
ْ ‫ﺍﻟﱠﺬﻱ ﺍْﻧ َﻔ َﻠ َﻘ‬
And rivers flow,  wa jarat bihi al-anh¡ru, ،‫ﺕ ﺑِ ِﻪ ﺍﻷﻧْﻬﺎ ُﺭ‬
ْ َ‫ﺟﺮ‬
َ ‫َﻭ‬
And springs split,  wa tafajjarat bihi al`uy£nu, ،‫ﻥ‬
ُ ‫ﺕ ﺑِ ِﻪ ﺍﻟﻌُﻴﻮ‬
ْ َ‫َﻭﺗَﻔَﺠﱠﺮ‬
And stars move,  wa s¡rat bihi alnnujuwmu, ،‫ﺠﻮ ُﻡ‬
ُ ‫ﺕ ﺑِ ِﻪ ﺍﻟﻨﱡ‬
ْ ‫َﻭﺳﺎ َﺭ‬
And clouds are accumulated and moved  wa urkima bihi alssa¦¡bu
wa ‘ujriya,
،‫ﻱ‬
َ ‫ﺟ ِﺮ‬
ْ ‫ﺏ َﻭُﺃ‬
ُ ‫ﺴﺤﺎ‬
‫ﻢ ِﺑ ِﻪ ﺍﻟ ﱠ‬
َ ‫َﻭُﺃ ْﺭ ِﻛ‬
And fog straighten up,  wa i`tadala bihi al¤¤ab¡bu, ،‫ﺏ‬
ُ ‫ﻀﺒﺎ‬
‫ﻝ ِﺑ ِﻪ ﺍﻟ ﱠ‬
َ‫ﺪ‬َ ‫َﻭﺍ ْﻋ َﺘ‬
And sands heap,  wa h¡lat bihi alrrim¡lu, ،‫ﻝ‬
ُ ‫ﺖ ِﺑ ِﻪ ﺍﻟ ﱢﺮﻣﺎ‬
ْ ‫َﻭﻫﺎَﻟ‬
And mountains settle down,  wa rasat bihi aljib¡lu ‫ﻝ‬
ُ ‫ﺠﺒﺎ‬
ِ ‫ﺖ ِﺑ ِﻪ ﺍﻟ‬
ْ ‫ﺳ‬
َ ‫َﻭ َﺭ‬
And the layers of the earth become 
wa ¡staqarrat bihi al-
stable,  ara¤£na,
،‫ﻥ‬
َ ‫ﺕ ِﺑ ِﻪ ﺍﻷ َﺭﺿﻮ‬
ْ ‫ﺳ َﺘ َﻘ ﱠﺮ‬
ْ ‫َﻭﺍ‬
And drops of rain descend,  wa nazala bihi alqa§ru ‫ﻄ ُﺮ‬
ْ ‫ﻝ ِﺑ ِﻪ ﺍﻟ َﻘ‬
َ ‫َﻭَﻧ َﺰ‬
And seeds grow up,  wa kharaja bihi al¦abbu, ،‫ﺐ‬
‫ﺧﺮَﺝَ ﺑِ ِﻪ ﺍﻟﺤَ ﱡ‬
َ ‫َﻭ‬
And creation have become of various 
wa tafarraqat bihi jabal¡tu
kinds,  alkhalqi,
،‫ﻖ‬
ِ ‫ﺨ ْﻠ‬
َ ‫ﺕ ﺍﻟ‬
ُ ‫ﺟ َﺒﻼ‬
َ ‫ﺖ ِﺑ ِﻪ‬
ْ ‫َﻭَﺗ َﻔ ﱠﺮ َﻗ‬
And winds blow  wa khafaqat bihi alrriy¡¦u, ،‫ﺡ‬
ُ ‫ﺖ ِﺑ ِﻪ ﺍﻟ ﱢﺮﻳﺎ‬
ْ ‫ﺧ َﻔ َﻘ‬
َ ‫َﻭ‬
And souls spread and breathe.  wa ¡ntasharat wa
tanaffasat bihi al-arw¡¦u.
.‫ﺡ‬
ُ ‫ﺖ ِﺑ ِﻪ ﺍﻷ ْﺭﻭﺍ‬
ْ ‫ﺴ‬
َ ‫ﺕ َﻭَﺗ َﻨ ﱠﻔ‬
ْ ‫ﺸ َﺮ‬
َ ‫َﻭﺍْﻧ َﺘ‬
O Allah: It is You to Whom Godhead is 
y¡ all¡hu anta
ascribed;  almutasamm¡ bi-il¡hiyyati,
،‫ﺴ ﱠﻤﻰ ِﺑﺎﻹﻟ ِﻬ ﱠﻴ ِﺔ‬
َ ‫ﺖ ﺍﻟ ُﻤ َﺘ‬
َ ‫ﷲ ﺃْﻧ‬
ُ ‫ﻳﺎ َﺍ‬
(I beseech You) by Your Name: the big, 
the All‐big,  bismika alkab¢ri al-akbari ‫ﻜﺒﻴ ِﺮ ﺍﻷ ْﻛ َﺒ ِﺮ‬
َ ‫ﻚ ﺍﻟ‬
َ ‫ﺳ ِﻤ‬
ْ ‫ﺏﺍ‬

The great, the All‐great,  ¡l`a¨¢mi al-a`¨ami ‫ﻢ‬
ِ‫ﻈ‬
َ ْ‫ﻢ ﺍﻷﻋ‬
ِ ‫ﺍﻟﻌَﻈﻴ‬
Before which all faces humble 
¡lladhy `anat lahu
themselves.  al£uj£hu,
،‫ﺖ َﻟ ُﻪ ﺍﻟ ُﻮﺟﻮ ُﻩ‬
ْ ‫ﺍﻟﱠﺬﻱ َﻋ َﻨ‬
O the Lord of bounty and graces:  y¡ dh¡ al§§awli wal-¡l¡‘i, ،‫ﻝ َﻭﺍﻵﻻ ِء‬
ِ ‫ﻄ ْﻮ‬
‫ﻳﺎ ﺫﺍ ﺍﻟ ﱠ‬
There is no god save You, O the Nigh;  l¡ il¡ha ill¡ anta y¡ qar¢bu, ،‫ﺐ‬
ُ ‫ﺖ ﻳﺎ َﻗﺮﻳ‬
َ ‫ﻻ ﺃْﻧ‬
ّ ‫ﻻ ﺇَﻟ َﻪ ﺇ‬
It is You Who prevails on all things;  anta algh¡libu `al¡ kulli
shay‘in,
،‫ﻲ ٍء‬
ْ ‫ﺷ‬
َ ‫ﻞ‬
‫ﺐ َﻋﻠﻰ ُﻛ ﱢ‬
ُ ‫ﺖ ﺍﻟﻐﺎِﻟ‬
َ ‫ﺃْﻧ‬
I beseech You, O Allah, by all of Your 
as-aluka all¡humma
Names,  bijam¢`i asm¡’ika kullih¡
‫ﻚ ُﻛ ﱢﻠﻬﺎ‬
َ ‫ﺳﻤﺎِﺋ‬
ْ ‫ﻊﺃ‬
ِ ‫ﺠﻤﻴ‬
َ ‫ﻢ ِﺑ‬
‫ﻚ ﺍَﻟ ّﻠ ُﻬ ﱠ‬
َ ‫ﺃﺳْﺄُﻟ‬
Those which I know and those which I do 
m¡ `alimtu minh¡ wa m¡
not;  lam a`lam,
،‫ﻢ‬
ْ ‫ﻢ ﺃ ْﻋ َﻠ‬
ْ ‫ﺖ ِﻣﻨﻬﺎ َﻭﻣﺎ َﻟ‬
ُ ‫ﻣﺎ َﻋ ِﻠ ْﻤ‬
And by every Name that belongs to You;  wa bikulli ismin huwa laka ‫ﻚ‬
َ ‫ﻢ ُﻫ َﻮ َﻟ‬
ٍ‫ﺳ‬
ْ ‫ﻞﺍ‬
‫ﻜ ﱢ‬
ُ ‫َﻭِﺑ‬
(I beseech You) to send blessings upon 
an tu¥alliya `al¡
Mu¦ammad and the Household of  mu¦ammadin wa ¡li ‫ﺪ‬
ٍ ‫ﺤ ﱠﻤ‬
َ ‫ﻝ ُﻣ‬
ِ ‫ﺪ َﻭﺁ‬
ٍ ‫ﺤ ﱠﻤ‬
َ ‫ﻲ َﻋﻠﻰ ُﻣ‬
َ ‫ﺼ ﱢﻠ‬
َ ‫ﻥ ُﺗ‬
ْ‫ﺃ‬
Mu¦ammad,  mu¦ammadin

And to rescue me from the plots of my 
wa an takfiyany amra
enemies  a`d¡’¢
‫ﻜ ِﻔ َﻴﻨﻲ ﺃ ْﻣ َﺮ ﺃ ْﻋﺪﺍﺋﻲ‬
ْ ‫ﻥ َﺗ‬
ْ ‫َﻭﺃ‬
And to make me attain my hope;  wa tuballighany mun¡ya ‫ﻱ‬
َ ‫َﻭُﺗ َﺒ ﱢﻠ َﻐﻨﻲ ُﻣﻨﺎ‬
O the most Merciful of all those who 
show mercy.  y¡ ar¦ama alrr¡¦im¢na. .‫ﻦ‬
َ ‫ﺣﻤﻴ‬
ِ ‫ﻢ ﺍﻟ ّﺮﺍ‬
َ‫ﺣ‬
َ ‫ﻳﺎ ﺃ ْﺭ‬
O Allah: (please) send blessings upon 
all¡humma ¥alli `al¡
Mu¦ammad and the Household of  mu¦ammadin wa ¡li ،ٍ‫ﺤ ﱠﻤﺪ‬
َ ‫ﻝ ُﻣ‬
ِ ‫ﺪ َﻭﺁ‬
ٍ ‫ﺤ ﱠﻤ‬
َ ‫ﻞ َﻋﻠﻰ ُﻣ‬
‫ﺻ ﱢ‬
َ ‫ﻢ‬
‫ﺍَﻟ ّﻠ ُﻬ ﱠ‬
Mu¦ammad  mu¦ammadin,

And have mercy upon Mu¦ammad and 
w¡r¦am mu¦ammadan wa
the Household of Mu¦ammad  ¡la mu¦ammadin
‫ﺪ‬
ٍ ‫ﺤ ﱠﻤ‬
َ ‫ﻝ ُﻣ‬
َ ‫ﺤ ﱠﻤﺪﴽ َﻭﺁ‬
َ ‫ﻢ ُﻣ‬
ْ‫ﺣ‬
َ ‫ﻭﺍ ْﺭ‬
And bless Mu¦ammad and the  wa b¡rik `al¡
Household of Mu¦ammad  mu¦ammadin wa ¡li ،ٍ‫ﺤ ﱠﻤﺪ‬
َ ‫ﻝ ُﻣ‬
ِ ‫ﺪ َﻭﺁ‬
ٍ ‫ﺤ ﱠﻤ‬
َ ‫ﻙ َﻋﻠﻰ ُﻣ‬
ْ ‫َﻭﺑﺎ ِﺭ‬
mu¦ammadin,
As You sent blessings, mercy, 
kam¡ ¥allayta wa ra¦imta
benedictions, and clemency upon 
wa b¡rakta wa tara¦¦amta
‫ﺖ‬
َ ْ‫ﺖ َﻭَﺗ َﺮﺣﱠﻤ‬
َ ‫ﺖ َﻭ ﺑﺎ َﺭ ْﻛ‬
َ ‫ﺣ ْﻤ‬
ِ ‫ﺖ َﻭ َﺭ‬
َ ‫ﺻــ ﱠﻠ ْﻴ‬
َ ‫َﻛ ﻤﺎ‬
(Prophet) Abraham and the household of  `al¡ ibr¡h¢ma wa ¡li
Abraham.  ibr¡h¢ma
‫ﻢ‬
َ ‫ﻝ ﺇْﺑﺮﺍﻫﻴ‬
ِ ‫ﻢ َﻭﺁ‬
َ ‫َﻋﻠﻰ ﺇْﺑﺮﺍﻫﻴ‬
Verily, You are verily worthy of all praise, 
full of all glory.  innaka ¦im¢dun maj¢dun, ،‫ﺪ‬
ٌ ‫ﺪ َﻣﺠﻴ‬
ٌ ‫ﺣﻤﻴ‬
ِ ‫ﻚ‬
َ ‫ﺇﱠﻧ‬
O Allah: (please) grant Mu¦ammad the 
all¡humma a`§i
right of intercession and an honorable  mu¦ammadan al£as¢lata ‫ﻑ‬
َ ‫ﺸ َﺮ‬
‫ﺤ ﱠﻤﺪﴽ ﺍﻟ َﻮﺳﻴ َﻠ َﺔ َﻭﺍﻟ ﱠ‬
َ ‫ﻂ ُﻣ‬
ِ ‫ﻢ ﺃ ْﻋ‬
‫ﺍَﻟ ّﻠ ُﻬ ﱠ‬

wal-rrif`ata wal-fa¤¢lata
over all Your creatutes,  `al¡ khalqika
‫ﻚ‬
َ ‫ﺧ ْﻠ ِﻘ‬
َ ‫َﻭﺍﻟ ﱢﺮ ْﻓ َﻌ َﺔ َﻭﺍﻟ َﻔﻀﻴ َﻠ َﺔ َﻋﻠﻰ‬
And decide him to be the target of the 
wa ij`al fy almu¥§afayna
Chosen Ones’ greetings,  ta¦iyy¡tihi,
،‫ﺤ ّﻴﺎِﺗ ِﻪ‬
ِ ‫ﻦ َﺗ‬
َ ‫ﻄ َﻔ ْﻴ‬
َ‫ﺼ‬ْ ‫ﻞ ﻓﻲ ﺍﻟ ُﻤ‬
ْ ‫ﺟ َﻌ‬
ْ ‫َﻭﺍ‬
And elevate his rank to the most exalted 
wa fy al`illiyy¢na
place,  darajatahu,
،‫ﺟ َﺘ ُﻪ‬
َ ‫ﻦ َﺩ َﺭ‬
َ ‫َﻭﻓﻲ ﺍﻟ ِﻌ ﱢﻠ ّﻴﻴ‬
And put his position within the position 
wa fy almuqarrab¢na
of the Favorite Ones.  manzilatahu,
،‫ﻦ َﻣ ْﻨ ِﺰَﻟ َﺘ ُﻪ‬
َ ‫َﻭﻓﻲ ﺍﻟ ُﻤ َﻘ ﱠﺮﺑﻴ‬
O Allah: (please) send blessings upon all 
all¡humma ¥alla `al¡
of Your angels   jam¢`i mal¡’ikatika
‫ﻚ‬
َ ‫ﻜ ِﺘ‬
َ ‫ﻊ َﻣﻼِﺋ‬
ِ ‫ﺟﻤﻴ‬
َ ‫ﻞ َﻋﻠﻰ‬
‫ﺻ ﱠ‬
َ ‫ﻢ‬
‫ﺍَﻟ ّﻠ ُﻬ ﱠ‬
And Prophets and Messengers  wa anbiy¡’ika wa rusulika َ‫ﺳﻠِﻚ‬
ُ ‫َﻭﺃْﻧﺒِﻴﺎﺋِﻚَ َﻭ ُﺭ‬
And people of obedience to You.  wa ahli §¡`atika. .َ‫َﻭﺃ ْﻫﻞِ َﻃﺎﻋَﺘِﻚ‬
O Allah: (please) forgive the believing  all¡humma aghfir
men and women  lilmu´min¢na wal- ‫ﺕ‬
ِ ‫ﻦ َﻭﺍﻟ ُﻤﺆ ِﻣﻨﺎ‬
َ ‫ﻢ ﺍ ْﻏ ِﻔ ْﺮ ِﻟ ْﻠ ُﻤﺆ ِﻣﻨﻴ‬
‫ﺍَﻟ ّﻠ ُﻬ ﱠ‬
mu´min¡ti
And the Muslim men and women,  wal-muslim¢na wal-
muslim¡ti
‫ﺕ‬
ِ ‫ﺴ ِﻠﻤﺎ‬
ْ ‫ﻦ َﻭﺍﻟ ُﻤ‬
َ ‫ﺴ ِﻠﻤﻴ‬
ْ ‫َﻭﺍﻟ ُﻤ‬
The alive and the dead,  ¡la¦¢¡‘i minhum wal-
amw¡ti,
،‫ﺕ‬
ِ ‫ﻢ َﻭﺍﻷ ْﻣﻮﺍ‬
ْ ‫ﺣﻴﺎ ِء ِﻣ ْﻨ ُﻬ‬
ْ ‫ﺍﻷ‬
And (please) put affection between our 
wa allif bayna qul£bin¡ wa
and their hearts on good things.  qul£bihim `al¡ alkhayr¡ti,
،‫ﺕ‬
ِ ‫ﺨ ْﻴﺮﺍ‬
َ ‫ﻢ َﻋﻠﻰ ﺍﻟ‬
ْ ‫ﻦ ُﻗﻠﻮِﺑﻨﺎ َﻭ ُﻗﻠﻮِﺑ ِﻬ‬
َ ‫ﻒ َﺑ ْﻴ‬
ْ ‫َﻭﺃﱢﻟ‬
O Allah: (please) award Mu¦ammad—
all¡humma ijzi
peace of Allah be upon him and his  mu¦ammadan ¥all¡ all¡hu ‫ﷲ َﻋ َﻠ ْﻴ ِﻪ َﻭﺁِﻟ ِﻪ‬
ُ ‫ﺻ ّﻠﻰ ﺍ‬
َ ‫ﺤ ﱠﻤﺪﴽ‬
َ ‫ﺟ ِﺰ ُﻣ‬
ْ ‫ﻢﺇ‬
‫ﺍَﻟ ّﻠ ُﻬ ﱠ‬
Household—  `alayhi wa ¡lihi

With the best award that You have ever 
given to a Prophet on behalf of his  af¤ala m¡ jazayta
nabiyyan `an aummatihi,
،‫ﻦ ُﺃ ﱠﻣ ِﺘ ِﻪ‬
ْ ‫ﺖ َﻧ ِﺒ ّﻴﴼ َﻋ‬
َ ‫ﺟ َﺰْﻳ‬
َ ‫ﻞ ﻣﺎ‬
َ ‫ﻀ‬
َ ‫ﺃ ْﻓ‬
people, 

An award that befits his having recited 
Your verses,  kam¡ tal¡ ¡¢¡tika ‫ﻚ‬
َ ‫َﻛﻤﺎ َﺗﻼ ﺁﻳﺎِﺗ‬
And conveyed that with which You sent 
wa ballagha m¡ arsaltahu
him,  bihi,
،‫ﺳ ْﻠ َﺘ ُﻪ ِﺑ ِﻪ‬
َ ‫ﻎ ﻣﺎ ﺃ ْﺭ‬
َ ‫َﻭَﺑ ﱠﻠ‬
And wished well for his nation,  wa na¥a¦a liaummatihi ‫ﻷ ﱠﻣ ِﺘ ِﻪ‬
ُ ‫ﺢ‬
َ ‫ﺼ‬
َ ‫َﻭَﻧ‬
And worshipped You until death came 
wa `abadaka ¦att¡ at¡hu
upon him.  alyaq¢nu
‫ﻦ‬
ُ ‫ﺣ ّﺘﻰ ﺃﺗﺎ ُﻩ ﺍﻟ َﻴﻘﻴ‬
َ ‫ﻙ‬
َ ‫ﺪ‬
َ ‫َﻭ َﻋ َﺒ‬
Allah’s blessings be upon him and upon 
¥all¡ all¡hu `alayhi wa `al¡
his Immaculate Household.  ¡lihi al§§ayyib¢na.

“Blessed be Allah, the Best of creators!”  tab¡raka alllahu a¦sanu

َ ‫ﻦ ﺍْﻟﺨَﺎِﻟﻘِﻴ‬
ُ ‫ﺴ‬
َ ‫ﺣ‬
ْ ‫ﻙ ﺍﻟ ﱠﻠ ُﻪ َﺃ‬
َ ‫)َﺗﺒَﺎ َﺭ‬
“Blessed is He Who hath revealed unto 
tab¡raka alladhiy nazzala
His slave the Criterion (of right and 
alfurq¡na `al¡ `abdihi
‫ﺪ ِﻩ‬
ِ ْ‫ﻥ َﻋﻠَﻰ ﻋَﺒ‬
َ ‫ﻝ ﺍْﻟ ُﻔﺮْﻗَﺎ‬
َ ‫ﻙ ﺍﻟﱠﺬِﻱ َﻧ ﱠﺰ‬
َ ‫)ﺗَﺒَﺎ َﺭ‬
wrong), that he may be a warner to the  liyakuwna lil`¡lam¢na
peoples.  nadh¢ran
.‫ﻦ َﻧﺬِﻳﺮﴽ‬
َ ‫ﻥ ِﻟ ْﻠﻌَﺎَﻟﻤِﻴ‬
َ ‫ِﻟ َﻴﻜُﻮ‬
 He unto Whom belongs the Sovereignty 
¡lladhiy lahu mulku
of the heavens and the earth,  alssam¡w¡ti wal-ar¤i
‫ﺽ‬
ِ ‫ﻷ ْﺭ‬
َ ‫ﺕ ﻭَﺍ‬
ِ ‫ﺴﻤَﺎﻭَﺍ‬
‫ﻚ ﺍﻟ ﱠ‬
ُ ‫ﺍﱠﻟﺬِﻱ َﻟ ُﻪ ُﻣ ْﻠ‬
He has chosen no son   wa lam yattakhidh waladan ‫ﺬ َﻭﻟَﺪﴽ‬
ْ‫ﺨ‬ِ ‫ﻢ َﻳ ﱠﺘ‬
ْ ‫َﻭَﻟ‬
Nor has He any partner in the 
wa lam yakun lahu
Sovereignty.   shar¢kun fiy almulki
‫ﻚ‬
ِ ‫ﻚ ﻓِﻲ ﺍْﻟ ُﻤ ْﻠ‬
ٌ ‫ﺷﺮِﻳ‬
َ ‫ﻦ َﻟ ُﻪ‬
ْ ‫ﻜ‬
ُ ‫ﻢ َﻳ‬
ْ ‫َﻭَﻟ‬
He has created everything and has 
wa khalaqa kulla shay‘in
meted out for it a measure.”  faqaddarahu taqd¢ran
(‫ﺪ َﺭ ُﻩ َﺗ ْﻘﺪِﻳﺮﴽ‬
‫ﻲ ٍء َﻓ َﻘ ﱠ‬
ْ ‫ﺷ‬
َ ‫ﻞ‬
‫ﻖ ُﻛ ﱠ‬
َ ‫ﺧ َﻠ‬
َ ‫َﻭ‬
“Blessed is He Who, if He will, will assign  tab¡raka alladhiy ‘in sh¡‘a ‫ﻦ‬
ْ ‫ﺧﻴْﺮﴽ ِﻣ‬
َ ‫ﻚ‬
َ َ‫ﻞ ﻟ‬
َ َ‫ﺟﻌ‬
َ ‫ﻥ ﺷــَﺎ َء‬
ْ ‫ﻙ ﺍﻟﱠﺬِﻱ ِﺇ‬
َ ‫)َﺗﺒَﺎ َﺭ‬
You better than all that;  ja`ala laka khayran min
dhalika ‫ﻚ‬
َ ‫َﺫِﻟ‬
 Gardens underneath which rivers flow,  jann¡tin tajriy min ta¦tih¡
alanh¡ru
‫ﻷْﻧﻬَﺎ ُﺭ‬
َ ‫ﺤ ِﺘﻬَﺎ ﺍ‬
ْ ‫ﻦ َﺗ‬
ْ ‫ﺠﺮِﻱ ِﻣ‬
ْ ‫ﺕ َﺗ‬
ٍ ‫ﺟﻨﱠﺎ‬
َ
and will assign You mansions.”  wa yaj`al laka qu¥£ran (‫ﻚ ُﻗﺼُﻮﺭﴽ‬
َ ‫ﻞ َﻟ‬
ْ ‫ﺠ َﻌ‬
ْ ‫َﻭَﻳ‬
“And blessed be He unto Whom belongs 
the Sovereignty of the heavens and the 
wa tab¡raka alladhiy lahu ‫ﺽ‬
ِ ‫ﻷ ْﺭ‬
َ ‫ﺕ ﻭَﺍ‬
ِ ‫ﻚ ﺍﻟ ﱠﺴﻤَﺎﻭَﺍ‬
ُ ‫ﻙ ﺍﱠﻟﺬِﻱ َﻟ ُﻪ ُﻣ ْﻠ‬
َ ‫) َﻭَﺗﺒَﺎ َﺭ‬
mulku alssam¡w¡ti wal-
earth and all that is between them,   ar¤i wa m¡ baynahum¡ ‫َﻭﻣَﺎ َﺑ ْﻴ َﻨ ُﻬﻤَﺎ‬
and with Whom is knowledge of the 
Hour,   wa `indahu `ilmu alss¡`ati ‫ﻢ ﺍﻟﺴﱠﺎ َﻋ ِﺔ‬
ُ ‫ﺪ ُﻩ ِﻋ ْﻠ‬
َ ‫َﻭ ِﻋ ْﻨ‬
and to Whom you will be returned.”  wa ‘ilayhi turja`uwna (.‫ﻥ‬
َ ‫ﺟﻌُﻮ‬
َ ‫َﻭِﺇَﻟ ْﻴ ِﻪ ُﺗ ْﺮ‬
“Blessed be the name of your Lord, 
tab¡raka asmu rabbika
Mighty and glorious.”  dhiy aljal¡li wal-’ikr¡mi
(.‫ﻹ ْﻛﺮَﺍ ِﻡ‬
ِ ‫ﻝ َﻭﺍ‬
ِ ‫ﻚ ﺫِﻱ ﺍْﻟﺠَﻼ‬
َ ‫ﻢ َﺭﱢﺑ‬
ُ‫ﺳ‬
ْ ‫ﻙﺍ‬
َ ‫)َﺗﺒَﺎ َﺭ‬
“Blessed is He in Whose hand is the 
Sovereignty, and, He is Able to do all 
tab¡raka alladhiy biyadihi ‫ﻞ‬
‫ﻚ َﻭ ُﻫ َﻮ َﻋﻠَﻰ ﻛُ ﱢ‬
ُ ْ‫ﺪ ِﻩ ﺍْﻟﻤُﻠ‬
ِ َ‫ﻙ ﺍﻟﱠﺬِﻱ ﺑِﻴ‬
َ ‫)ﺗَﺒَﺎ َﺭ‬
almulku wa huwa `ala¢ kulli
things;  shay‘in qad¢run ‫ﻲ ٍء َﻗﺪِﻳ ٌﺮ‬
ْ ‫ﺷ‬
َ
Who has created life and death that He 
may try you which of you is best in 
¡lladhiy khalaqa almawta ‫ﻢ‬
ْ‫ﻜ‬
ُ ‫ﻢ َﺃﱡﻳ‬
ْ ‫ﺕ ﻭَﺍْﻟﺤَﻴَﺎ َﺓ ِﻟ َﻴ ْﺒ ُﻠ َﻮ ُﻛ‬
َ ‫ﻖ ﺍْﻟ َﻤ ْﻮ‬
َ ‫ﺧ َﻠ‬
َ ‫ﺍﻟﱠﺬِﻱ‬
wal-¦ay¡ ta liyabluwakum
conduct;  ayyukum a¦sanu `amalan ‫ﻼ‬
ً ‫ﻦ َﻋ َﻤ‬
ُ ‫ﺴ‬
َ ‫ﺣ‬
ْ ‫َﺃ‬
and He is the Mighty, the Forgiving.”  wa huwa al`az¢zu
alghafuwru
(.‫َﻭ ُﻫ َﻮ ﺍْﻟ َﻌﺰِﻳ ُﺰ ﺍْﻟ َﻐﻔُﻮ ُﺭ‬

“Blessed be He Who has placed in the 
tab¡raka alladhiy ja`ala fiy
heaven mansions of the stars,   alssam¡‘i bur£jan
‫ﺴﻤَﺎ ِء ُﺑﺮُﻭﺟﴼ‬
‫ﻞ ﻓِﻲ ﺍﻟ ﱠ‬
َ ‫ﺟ َﻌ‬
َ ‫ﻙ ﺍﱠﻟﺬِﻱ‬
َ ‫)َﺗﺒَﺎ َﺭ‬
and has placed therein a great lamp and 
wa ja`ala f¢h¡ sir¡jan wa
a moon giving light.”  qamaran mun¢ran
(.‫ﺳﺮَﺍﺟﴼ َﻭ َﻗﻤَﺮﴽ ُﻣﻨِﻴﺮﴽ‬
ِ ‫ﻞ ﻓِﻴﻬَﺎ‬
َ ‫ﺟ َﻌ‬
َ ‫َﻭ‬
You may then add the following:
I seek the protection of all of the Perfect 
a`£dhu bikalim¡ti allhi
Words of Allah that neither an upright 
altt¡mm¡ti kullih¡ allaty l¡
‫ﺕ ُﻛ ﱢﻠ ﻬﺎ ﺍﱠﻟﺘﻲ‬
ِ ‫ﷲ ﺍﻟ ّﺘﺎ ّﻣﺎ‬
ِ ‫ﺕﺍ‬
ِ ‫ﻜ ِﻠ ﻤﺎ‬
َ ‫ﺃﻋﻮ ُﺫ ِﺑ‬
one nor can a licentious one exceed  yuj¡wizuhunna birrun wa l¡
them,   f¡jirun, ،‫ﺟ ٌﺮ‬
ِ ‫ﻦ ِﺑ ﱞﺮ َﻭﻻ ﻓﺎ‬
‫ﻻ ُﻳﺠﺎ ِﻭ ُﺯ ُﻫ ﱠ‬
Against the evil of Ibl¢s and his troops,   min sharri ibl¢sa wa jun£dihi, ،‫ﺟﻨﻮ ِﺩ ِﻩ‬
ُ ‫ﺲ َﻭ‬
َ ‫ﺷ ﱢﺮ ﺇْﺑﻠﻴ‬
َ ‫ﻦ‬
ْ ‫ِﻣ‬
And against the evil of all devils and 
wa min sharri kulli shay§¡nin
rulers  wa sul§¡nin, ،‫ﻥ‬
ٍ ‫ﺳ ْﻠﻄﺎ‬
ُ ‫ﻥ َﻭ‬
ٍ ‫ﺷ ْﻴﻄﺎ‬
َ ‫ﻞ‬
‫ﺷ ﱢﺮ ُﻛ ﱢ‬
َ ‫ﻦ‬
ْ ‫َﻭ ِﻣ‬
And sorcerers and magicians  wa s¡¦irin wa k¡hinin, ،‫ﻦ‬
ٍ ‫ﺣ ٍﺮ َﻭﻛﺎ ِﻫ‬
ِ ‫َﻭﺳﺎ‬
And against the evil of all evil ones.  wa sharri kulli dhy sharrin. .‫ﺷ ﱟﺮ‬
َ ‫ﻞ ﺫﻱ‬
‫ﺷ ﱢﺮ ُﻛ ﱢ‬
َ ‫َﻭ‬
O Allah: I keep as trust with You my self 
all¡humma inny astawdi`uka
and my religion  nafsy wa d¢n¢
‫ﻚ َﻧ ْﻔﺴﻲ َﻭﺩﻳﻨﻲ‬
َ ‫ﺳ َﺘ ْﻮ ِﺩ ُﻋ‬
ْ ‫ﻢ ﺇﻧّﻲ ﺃ‬
‫ﺍَﻟ ّﻠ ُﻬ ﱠ‬
And my hearing and my sight  wa sam`y wa ba¥ar¢ ‫ﺼﺮﻱ‬
َ ‫ﺳ ْﻤﻌﻲ َﻭَﺑ‬
َ ‫َﻭ‬
And my body and all my organs  wa jasady jam¢`a jaw¡ri¦¢ ‫ﺟﻮﺍ ِﺭﺣﻲ‬
َ ‫ﻊ‬
َ ‫ﺟﻤﻴ‬
َ ‫ﺴﺪﻱ َﻭ‬
َ ‫ﺟ‬
َ ‫َﻭ‬
And my family members and my 
property and my children  wa hly wa m¡ly wa awl¡d¢ ‫َﻭﺃ ْﻫﻠﻲ َﻭﻣﺎﻟﻲ َﻭﺃﻭﻻﺩﻱ‬
And all those for whose affairs I am 
wa jam¢`a man yu`n¢ny
responsible  amruhu,
،‫ﻦ ُﻳ ْﻌﻨﻴﻨﻲ ﺃ ْﻣ ُﺮ ُﻩ‬
ْ ‫ﻊ َﻣ‬
َ ‫ﺟﻤﻴ‬
َ ‫َﻭ‬
And the seal of my deeds  wa khaw¡t¢ma `amal¢ ‫ﻢ َﻋ َﻤﻠﻲ‬
َ ‫ﺧﻮﺍﺗﻴ‬
َ ‫َﻭ‬
And all that which You have given me in 
possession and authorized me to dispose  wa s¡’ira m¡ mallaktany wa
‫ﺧ ﱠﻮْﻟﺘَ ﻨﻲ‬
َ ‫ﻜ َﺘ ﻨﻲ َﻭ‬
ْ ‫َﻭﺳـــﺎِﺋ َﺮ ﻣﺎ َﻣ ﱠﻠ‬
khawwaltany wa razaqtan¢
and provided me  ‫َﻭ َﺭ َﺯ ْﻗ َﺘﻨﻲ‬
And conferred upon me  wa an`amta bihi `alayya ‫ﻲ‬
‫ﺖ ِﺑ ِﻪ َﻋ َﻠ ﱠ‬
َ ‫َﻭﺃْﻧ َﻌ ْﻤ‬
And all the believing men and women.  wa jam¢`a almu´min¢na wal-
mu´min¡ti,
،‫ﺕ‬
ِ ‫ﻦ َﻭﺍﻟ ُﻤﺆ ِﻣﻨﺎ‬
َ ‫ﻊ ﺍﻟ ُﻤﺆ ِﻣﻨﻴ‬
َ ‫ﺟﻤﻴ‬
َ ‫َﻭ‬
O the best of trustees;  y¡ khayra mustawda`in ‫ﻉ‬
ٍ ‫ﺴ َﺘ ْﻮ َﺩ‬
ْ ‫ﺧ ْﻴ َﺮ ُﻣ‬
َ ‫ﻳﺎ‬
O the best of keepers;  wa y¡ khayra ¦¡fi¨in ‫ﻆ‬
ٍ ‫ﺧ ْﻴ َﺮ ﺣﺎ ِﻓ‬
َ ‫َﻭﻳﺎ‬
O the most Merciful of all those showing 
mercy.  wa y¡ ar¦ama alrr¡¦im¢na. .‫ﻦ‬
َ ‫ﺣﻤﻴ‬
ِ ‫ﻢ ﺍﻟ ّﺮﺍ‬
َ‫ﺣ‬َ ‫َﻭﻳﺎ ﺃ ْﺭ‬

‫ﺍَﻟ ّﻠ ُﻬ ﱠ‬
Allah, Allah, Allah, Allah, Allah,  ¡llhi allhi allhi allhi allhi, ،‫ﷲ‬
ِ ‫ﷲﺍ‬
ِ ‫ﷲﺍ‬
ِ ‫ﷲﺍ‬
ِ ‫ﷲﺍ‬
ِ ‫ﺍ‬
There is no god save You, the Lord of the 
¡lladhy l¡ il¡ha ill¡ huwa
ِ‫ﺏ ﺍ ﻟ َﻌ ْﺮﺵ‬
‫ﻻ ُﻫ َﻮ َﺭ ﱡ‬
ّ ‫ﺍﻟ ﱠﺬﻱ ﻻ ﺇَﻟ َﻪ ﺇ‬
Great Throne;  rabbu al`arshi al`a¨¢mi,
،‫ﻢ‬
ِ ‫ﺍﻟ َﻌﻈﻴ‬
(I beseech You) to send blessings upon 
an tu¥alliya `al¡
Mu¦ammad and the Household of 
Mu¦ammad, 
mu¦ammadin wa ¡li ‫ﺪ‬
ٍ ‫ﺤ ﱠﻤ‬
َ ‫ﻝ ُﻣ‬
ِ ‫ﺪ َﻭﺁ‬
ٍ ‫ﺤ ﱠﻤ‬
َ ‫ﻲ َﻋﻠﻰ ُﻣ‬
َ ‫ﺼ ﱢﻠ‬
َ ‫ﻥ ُﺗ‬
ْ‫ﺃ‬
mu¦ammadin

And to relieve me;  wa an tufarrija `ann¢ ‫ﺝ َﻋ ّﻨﻲ‬

َ ‫ﻥ ُﺗ َﻔ ﱢﺮ‬
ْ ‫َﻭﺃ‬
O the Lord of the heavens and the earth 
y¡ rabba alssam¡w¡ti wal-
‫ﻦ‬
ْ ‫ﻦ َﻭ َﻣ‬
َ ‫ﺕ َﻭﺍﻷ َﺭﺿــﻴ‬
ِ ‫ﺍﻟﺴــﻤﺎﻭﺍ‬
‫ﺏ ﱠ‬ ‫ﻳﺎ َﺭ ﱠ‬
and whoever is therein;  ara¤¢na wa man f¢hinna,
،‫ﻦ‬
‫ﻓﻴ ِﻬ ﱠ‬
O He Who causes oceans to flow  wa mujriya albi¦¡ri ‫ﻱ ﺍﻟ ِﺒﺤﺎ ِﺭ‬
َ ‫ﺠ ِﺮ‬
ْ ‫َﻭ ُﻣ‬
And provides provisions to whatever is 
therein  wa r¡ziqa man f¢hinna, ،‫ﻦ‬
‫ﻦ ﻓﻴ ِﻬ ﱠ‬
ْ ‫ﻕ َﻣ‬
َ ‫َﻭﺭﺍ ِﺯ‬
O the Originator of the heavens and the 
wa f¡§ira alssam¡w¡ti wal-
َ‫ﺕ َﻭﺍﻷ َﺭﺿـــ ﻴﻦ‬
ِ ‫ﺍﻟﺴــ ﻤﺎﻭﺍ‬
‫َﻭ ﻓﺎ ِﻃ َﺮ ﱠ‬
earth and their layers,  ara¤¢na wa a§b¡qih¡
‫َﻭﺃ ْﻃﺒﺎ ِﻗﻬﺎ‬
And He Who causes the clouds to be 
obedient (to Him) and He Who causes  wa musakhkhira alssa¦¡bi
ships to move,  wa mujriya alfulki.
.‫ﻚ‬
ِ ‫ﻱ ﺍﻟ ُﻔ ْﻠ‬
َ ‫ﺠ ِﺮ‬
ْ ‫ﺏ َﻭ ُﻣ‬
ِ ‫ﺴﺤﺎ‬
‫ﺨ َﺮ ﺍﻟ ﱠ‬
‫ﺴﱢ‬َ ‫َﻭ ُﻣ‬
And He Who appoints the sun a splendor 
wa j¡`ila alshshamsi ¤iy¡‘an
and the moon a light,  wal-qamari n£ran,
،‫ﺿﻴﺎ ًء َﻭﺍﻟ َﻘ َﻤ ِﺮ ﻧﻮﺭﴽ‬
ِ ‫ﺲ‬
ِ ‫ﺸ ْﻤ‬
‫ﻞ ﺍﻟ ﱠ‬
َ ‫َﻭﺟﺎ ِﻋ‬
And He Who is the Creator of Adam, 
wa kh¡liqa ¡dama `alayhi
peace be upon him,  alssal¡mu, ،‫ﺴﻼ ُﻡ‬
‫ﻖ ﺁ َﺩ َﻡ َﻋ َﻠ ْﻴ ِﻪ ﺍﻟ ﱠ‬
َ ‫َﻭﺧﺎِﻟ‬
And the Maker of the Propehts from his  wa munsh’ia alanbiy¡‘i ‫ﻦ‬
ْ ‫ﻢ ﺍﻟ ﱠﺴﻼ ُﻡ ِﻣ‬
ُ ‫ﺊ ﺍﻷْﻧ ِﺒﻴﺎ ِء َﻋ َﻠ ْﻴ ِﻬ‬
َ ‫َﻭ ُﻣ ْﻨ ِﺸ‬
offspring—peace be upon them,   `alayhimu alssal¡mu min
dhurr¢yatihi, ،‫ُﺫ ﱢﺭﱠﻳ ِﺘ ِﻪ‬
And He Who taught Idr¢s to calculate 
wa mu`allima idr¢sa `adada
‫ﺪ َﺩ ﺍﻟــ ﱡﻨﺠــﻮ ِﻡ‬
َ ‫ﺲ َﻋ‬
َ ‫ﻢ ﺇ ْﺩﺭﻳــ‬
َ ‫َﻭ ُﻣ َﻌ ﱢﻠ‬
the stars, and taught him the reckoning 
alnnuj£mi wal-¦is¡ba wal-
and the number of years and months  ssin¢na wal-shshuh£ra wa ‫ﺍﻟﺸــﻬﻮ َﺭ‬
‫ﻦ َﻭ ﱡ‬
َ ‫ﺍﻟﺴــﻨﻴ‬
‫ﺏ َﻭ ﱢ‬
َ ‫ﺤﺴــﺎ‬
ِ ‫َﻭﺍﻟ‬
and the time;  awq¡ti al-azm¡ni,
،‫ﻥ‬
ِ ‫ﺕ ﺍﻷ ْﺯﻣﺎ‬
ِ ‫َﻭﺃ ْﻭﻗﺎ‬
And He Who spoke to Moses  wa mukallima m£s¡, ،‫ﻢ ﻣﻮﺳﻰ‬
َ ‫ﻜ ﱢﻠ‬
َ ‫َﻭ ُﻣ‬
And caused his stick to be serpent,  wa j¡`ila `a¥¡hu §hu`b¡nan, ،‫ﻞ َﻋﺼﺎ ُﻩ ُﺛ ْﻌﺒﺎﻧﴼ‬

And revealed the Torah in the tablets to  wa munzila alttawr¡ti fy al- ‫ﺡ َﻋ ﻠﻰ‬

ِ ‫ﻝ ﺍ ﻟ ﱠﺘ ْﻮﺭﺍ ِﺓ ﻓﻲ ﺍﻷْﻟﻮﺍ‬
َ ‫َﻭ ُﻣ ْﻨ ِﺰ‬
Moses, peace be upon him;  alw¡¦i `al¡ m£s¡ `alayhi
alssal¡mu. .‫ﺴﻼ ُﻡ‬
‫ﻣﻮﺳﻰ َﻋ َﻠ ْﻴ ِﻪ ﺍﻟ ﱠ‬
And He Who caused the ark of Noah to 
run,  wa mujriya alfulki lin£¦in, ،‫ﺡ‬
ٍ ‫ﻚ ِﻟﻨﻮ‬
ِ ‫ﻱ ﺍﻟ ُﻔ ْﻠ‬
َ ‫ﺠ ِﺮ‬
ْ ‫َﻭ ُﻣ‬
And He Who ransomed Ishmael from 
wa f¡diya ism¡`¢la mina
slaughtering,  aldhdhab¦i,
،‫ﺢ‬
ِ ‫ﺬْﺑ‬
‫ﻦ ﺍﻟ ﱠ‬
َ ‫ﻞ ِﻣ‬
َ ‫ﺳﻤﺎﻋﻴ‬
ْ ‫ﻱﺇ‬
َ ‫َﻭﻓﺎ ِﺩ‬
And He Who tried Jacob by the loss of 
wal-mubtaliy ya`q£ba bifaqdi
Joseph  y£sufa,
،‫ﻒ‬
َ ‫ﺳ‬
ُ ‫ﺪ ﻳﻮ‬
ِ ‫ﺏ ِﺑ َﻔ ْﻘ‬
َ ‫َﻭﺍﻟ ُﻤ ْﺒ َﺘ ِﻠﻲ َﻳ ْﻌﻘﻮ‬
And He Who restored Joseph to him (i.e. 
his father) after his eyes had become 
wa r¡dda y£sufa `alayhi ‫ﺖ‬
ْ ‫ﻀــ‬
‫ﻥ ﺍْﺑ َﻴ ﱠ‬
ِ ‫ﺪﺃ‬
َ ‫ﻒ َﻋ َﻠ ْﻴ ِﻪ َﺑ ْﻌ‬
َ ‫ﻳﻮﺳــ‬
ُ ‫َﻭﺭﺍ ﱠﺩ‬
ba`da ani abya¤¤at `ayn¡hu
white, out of heavy weeping.  mina albuk¡‘i, ،‫ﻦ ﺍﻟ ُﺒﻜﺎ ِء‬
َ ‫َﻋﻴﻨﺎ ُﻩ ِﻣ‬
Hence, his heart got rid of sadness and 
fatafarraja qalbuhu mina
sorrow;  al¦uzni wal-shshaj¡, ،‫ﺸﺠﻰ‬
‫ﻥ َﻭﺍﻟ ﱠ‬
ِ ‫ﺤ ْﺰ‬
ُ ‫ﻦ ﺍﻟ‬
َ ‫ﺝ َﻗ ْﻠ ُﺒ ُﻪ ِﻣ‬
َ ‫َﻓ َﺘ َﻔ ﱠﺮ‬
And He Who granted Zachariah, in his 
old age, John as son after he had  wa r¡ziqa zakariyy¡ ya¦y¡
‫ﺪ‬
َ ‫ﻜ َﺒ ِﺮ َﺑ ْﻌ‬
ِ ‫ﺤﻴﻰ َﻋﻠﻰ ﺍﻟ‬
ْ ‫ﻕ َﺯ َﻛ ِﺮّﻳﺎ َﻳ‬
َ ‫َﻭﺭﺍ ِﺯ‬
`al¡ alkibari ba`da aliy¡si
despaired of so; 
‫ﺱ‬
ِ ‫ﺍﻹﻳﺎ‬
And He Who sent forth the she‐camel to 
wa mukhrija alnn¡qati
(Prophet) ˉ¡li¦;  li¥¡li¦in,
،‫ﺢ‬
ٍ ‫ﺝ ﺍﻟ ّﻨﺎ َﻗ ِﺔ ِﻟﺼﺎِﻟ‬
َ ‫ﺨ ِﺮ‬
ْ ‫َﻭ ُﻣ‬
And He Who sent forth the awful cry on 
those who plotted against (Propeht)  wa mursila al¥¥ay¦ati `al¡
H£d,  muk¢dy h£din,
،‫ﺤ ِﺔ َﻋﻠﻰ ُﻣﻜﻴﺪﻱ ﻫﻮ ٍﺩ‬
َ ‫ﺼﻴ‬
‫ﻞ ﺍﻟ ﱠ‬
َ ‫ﺳ‬
ِ ‫َﻭ ُﻣ ْﺮ‬
And He Who relieved Job from his 
wa k¡shifa albal¡‘i `an
adversity,  ayy£ba,
،‫ﺏ‬
َ ‫ﻦ ﺃّﻳﻮ‬
ْ ‫ﻒ ﺍﻟ َﺒﻼ ِء َﻋ‬
َ ‫ﺷ‬
ِ ‫َﻭﻛﺎ‬
And He Who saved (Prophet) Lot from 
wa munjy luw§in mina
the committers of abomination;  alqawmi alf¡¦ish¢na. .‫ﻦ‬
َ ‫ﺣﺸﻴ‬
ِ ‫ﻦ ﺍﻟ َﻘ ْﻮ ِﻡ ﺍﻟﻔﺎ‬
َ ‫ﻁ ِﻣ‬
ٍ ‫َﻭ ُﻣ ْﻨﺠﻲ ُﻟﻮ‬
And He Who bestowed upon Luqm¡n 
wa w¡hiba al¦ikmati
with wisdom;  liluqm¡na,
،‫ﻥ‬
َ ‫ﻜ َﻤ ِﺔ ِﻟ ُﻠ ْﻘﻤﺎ‬
ْ‫ﺤ‬ِ ‫ﺐ ﺍﻟ‬
َ ‫َﻭﻭﺍ ِﻫ‬
And He Who ordered the Holy Spirit to 
convey His Words to Mary, peace be 
wa mulqy ruw¦i alqudusi ‫ﻜ ِﻠ ﻤﺎِﺗ ِﻪ َﻋ ﻠﻰ‬
َ ‫ﺱ ِﺑ‬
ِ ‫ﺪ‬
ُ ‫ﺡ ﺍﻟ ُﻘ‬
ِ ‫َﻭ ُﻣ ﻠﻘﻲ ُﺭﻭ‬
bikalim¡tihi `al¡ maryama
upon her,  `alayh¡ alssal¡mu, ،‫ﺴﻼ ُﻡ‬
‫ﻢ َﻋ َﻠ ْﻴﻬﺎ ﺍﻟ ﱠ‬
َ ‫َﻣﺮَﻳ‬
And He created from her His servant, 
wa khalaqta minh¡ `abdaka
ِ‫ﻙ ﻋﻴﺴــﻰ َﻋ َﻠ ْﻴﻪ‬
َ ‫ﺪ‬
َ ‫ﺖ ِﻣ ْﻨ ﻬﺎ َﻋ ْﺒ‬
َ ‫ﺧ َﻠ ْﻘ‬
َ ‫َﻭ‬
Jesus, peace be upon him,  `¢s¡ `alayhi alssal¡mu,
،‫ﺴﻼ ُﻡ‬
‫ﺍﻟ ﱠ‬
And He Who punished the slayers of 
Joan, son of Zachariah, peace be upon 
wal-muntaqima min qatalati ‫ﻦ َﺯ َﻛ ِﺮّﻳﺎ‬
ِ ‫ﺤﻴﻰ ْﺑ‬
ْ ‫ﻦ َﻗ َﺘ َﻠ ِﺔ َﻳ‬
ْ ‫ﻢ ِﻣ‬
َ ‫َﻭﺍﻟ ُﻤ ْﻨ َﺘ ِﻘ‬
ya¦y¡ bni zakariyy¡
both of them;  `alayhim¡ alssal¡mu, ،‫ﺴﻼ ُﻡ‬
‫َﻋ َﻠ ْﻴ ِﻬﻤﺎ ﺍﻟ ﱠ‬

I beseech You by Your taking Jesus up to 
wa as-aluka biraf`ika `¢s¡ il¡
Your heavens,  sam¡’ika ‫ﻚ‬
َ ‫ﺳﻤﺎِﺋ‬
َ ‫ﻚ ﻋﻴﺴﻰ ﺇﻟﻰ‬
َ ‫ﻚ ِﺑ َﺮ ْﻓ ِﻌ‬
َ ‫ﻭﺃﺳْﺄُﻟ‬
And by Your keeping him alive until You 
decide to retaliate upon Your enemies  wa b’ibq¡’ika lahu il¡ an
‫ﻦ‬
ْ ‫ﻢ َﻟ ُﻪ ِﻣ‬
َ ‫ﻥ َﺗ ْﻨ َﺘ ِﻘ‬
ْ ‫ﻚ َﻟ ُﻪ ﺇ ﻟﻰ ﺃ‬
َ ‫َﻭِﺑﺈْﺑ ﻘﺎِﺋ‬
tantaqima lahu min a`d¡’ika.
for him. 
.‫ﻚ‬
َ ‫ﺃ ْﻋﺪﺍِﺋ‬
O He Who sent Mu¦ammad—peace of 
Allah be upon him and his Household—
wa y¡ mursila mu¦ammadin ِ‫ﷲ َﻋ َﻠ ْﻴﻪ‬
ُ ‫ﺻــ ّﻠﻰ ﺍ‬
َ ‫ﺪ‬
ٍ ‫ﺤ ﱠﻤ‬
َ ‫ﻞ ُﻣ‬
َ ‫ﺳــ‬
ِ ‫َﻭﻳﺎ ُﻣ ْﺮ‬
¥all¡ all¡hu `alayhi wa ¡lihi
the seal of Your Prophets,  kh¡timi anbiy¡’ika ‫ﻚ‬
َ ‫ﻢ ﺃْﻧ ِﺒﻴﺎِﺋ‬
ِ ‫َﻭﺁِﻟ ِﻪ ﺧﺎِﺗ‬
To the most evil of Your slaves, carrying 
Il¡ asharri `ib¡dika
to them Your excellent commandments,  bishar¡’i`ika al¦asanati,
،‫ﺴ َﻨ ِﺔ‬
َ ‫ﺤ‬
َ ‫ﻚ ﺍﻟ‬
َ ‫ﺸﺮﺍِﺋ ِﻌ‬
َ ‫ﻙ ِﺑ‬
َ ‫ﺷ ﱢﺮ ِﻋﺒﺎ ِﺩ‬
َ ‫ﺇﻟﻰ ﺃ‬
And Your straight religion,  wa d¢nika alqayyimi, ،‫ﻢ‬
ِ ‫ﻚ ﺍﻟ َﻘ ﱢﻴ‬
َ ‫َﻭﺩﻳ ِﻨ‬
Which is extension of the religion of Your 
intimate friend, Abraham, peace be  wa millati ibr¡h¢ma khal¢lika
upon him,  `alayhi alssal¡mu ‫ﺴﻼ ُﻡ‬
‫ﻚ َﻋ َﻠ ْﻴ ِﻪ ﺍﻟ ﱠ‬
َ ‫ﺧﻠﻴ ِﻠ‬
َ ‫ﻢ‬
َ ‫َﻭ ِﻣ ﱠﻠ ِﺔ ﺇْﺑﺮﺍﻫﻴ‬
And (You sent him for) making His 
straight religion prevail over all religions,  wa i¨h¡ri d¢nihi alqayyimi, ،‫ﻢ‬
ِ ‫َﻭﺇ ْﻇﻬﺎ ِﺭ ﺩﻳ ِﻨ ِﻪ ﺍﻟ َﻘ ﱢﻴ‬
And making His Word be the highest.  wa i`l¡’ika kalimatahu ‫ﻚ َﻛ ِﻠ َﻤ َﺘ ُﻪ‬
َ ‫َﻭﺇﻋﻼِﺋ‬
O the Lord of majesty and honor;  y¡ dh¡ aljal¡li wal-ikr¡mi, ،‫ﻝ َﻭﺍﻹﻛﺮﺍ ِﻡ‬
ِ ‫ﺠﻼ‬
َ ‫ﻳﺎ ﺫﺍ ﺍﻟ‬
O He Whom is not overtaken by sleep or 
y¡ man l¡ takhudhuhu
slumber;  sinatun wa l¡ nawmun,
،‫ﺳ َﻨ ٌﺔ َﻭﻻ َﻧ ْﻮ ٌﻡ‬
ِ ‫ﺬ ُﻩ‬
ُ‫ﺧ‬
ُ ‫ﻦ ﻻ َﺗﺄ‬
ْ ‫ﻳﺎ َﻣ‬
O the One and Only; O the Besought of 
all;  y¡ a¦adu y¡ ¥amadu ‫ﺪ‬
ُ ‫ﺻ َﻤ‬
َ ‫ﺪ ﻳﺎ‬
ُ‫ﺣ‬
َ ‫ﻳﺎ ﺃ‬
O the Almighty; O the Able; O the 
y¡ `az¢zu y¡ q¡diru y¡
Omnipotent;   q¡hiru, ،‫ﻳﺎ َﻋﺰﻳ ُﺰ ﻳﺎ ﻗﺎ ِﺩ ُﺭ ﻳﺎ ﻗﺎ ِﻫ ُﺮ‬
O the Owner of power and authority  y¡ dh¡ alquwwati w¡lssul§¡ni ‫ﻥ‬
ِ ‫ﺴﻠﻄﺎ‬
‫ﻳﺎ ﺫﺍ ﺍﻟ ُﻘ ﱠﻮ ِﺓ ﻭﺍﻟ ﱡ‬
And supremacy and grandeur;  wal-jabar£ti wal-kibriy¡‘i. .‫ﻜ ْﺒ ِﺮﻳﺎ ِء‬
ِ ‫ﺕ َﻭﺍﻟ‬
ِ ‫ﺠ َﺒﺮﻭ‬
َ ‫َﻭﺍﻟ‬
O the Most High; O the All‐powerful;  y¡ `aliyyu y¡ qad¢ru ‫ﻲ ﻳﺎ َﻗﺪﻳ ُﺮ‬
‫ﻳﺎ َﻋ ِﻠ ﱡ‬
O the Nigh; O the Responding;  y¡ qar¢bu y¡ muj¢bu, ،‫ﺐ‬
ُ ‫ﺐ ﻳﺎ ُﻣﺠﻴ‬
ُ ‫ﻳﺎ َﻗﺮﻳ‬
O the Forebearing; O the Reproducer (of 
creation);  y¡ ¦al¢mu y¡ mu`¢du, ،‫ﺪ‬
ُ ‫ﻢ ﻳﺎ ُﻣﻌﻴ‬
ُ ‫ﺣﻠﻴ‬
َ ‫ﻳﺎ‬
O the Approaching; O the Far‐off;  y¡ mutad¡ny y¡ ba`¢du, ،‫ﺪ‬
ُ ‫ﻳﺎ ُﻣ َﺘﺪﺍﻧﻲ ﻳﺎ َﺑﻌﻴ‬
O the All‐kind; O the All‐merciful;  y¡ rau´£fu y¡ ra¦¢mu ‫ﻢ‬
ُ ‫ﻑ ﻳﺎ َﺭﺣﻴ‬
ُ ‫ﻳﺎ َﺭﺅﻭ‬

O the Owner of excuse;  y¡ dh¡ al¥¥af¦i ‫ﺢ‬
ِ ‫ﺼ ْﻔ‬
‫ﻳﺎ ﺫﺍ ﺍﻟ ﱠ‬
O the Aide; O the provider of food;  y¡ mugh¢§hu y¡ mu§`imu, ،‫ﻢ‬
ُ ‫ﻄ ِﻌ‬
ْ ‫ﺚ ﻳﺎ ُﻣ‬
ُ ‫ﻳﺎ ُﻣﻐﻴ‬
O the Healer; O the Rescuer;  y¡ sh¡fy y¡ k¡f¢, ،‫ﻳﺎ ﺷﺎﻓﻲ ﻳﺎ ﻛﺎﻓﻲ‬
O the Provider with dress; O the Curer;  y¡ k¡sy y¡ mu`¡f¢, ،‫ﻳﺎ ﻛﺎﺳﻲ ﻳﺎ ُﻣﻌﺎﻓﻲ‬
O the Alleviator of harms;  y¡ sh¡fy al¤¤urri, ،‫ﻀ ﱢﺮ‬
‫ﻳﺎ ﺷﺎﻓﻲ ﺍﻟ ﱡ‬
O the All‐knowing; O the All‐wise; O the 
y¡ `al¢mu y¡ ¦ak¢mu y¡
All‐loving;  wad£du. .‫ﻢ ﻳﺎ َﻭﺩﻭ ُﺩ‬
ُ ‫ﺣﻜﻴ‬
َ ‫ﻢ ﻳﺎ‬
ُ ‫ﻳﺎ َﻋﻠﻴ‬
O the All‐forgiver; O the All‐merciful:  y¡ ghaf£ru y¡ ra¦¢mu ‫ﻢ‬
ُ ‫ﻳﺎ َﻏﻔﻮ ُﺭ ﻳﺎ َﺭﺣﻴ‬
O the Beneficent of this world and the 
y¡ ra¦m¡na alddun¢¡ wal-
Hereafter;  ¡khirati,
،‫ﺧ َﺮ ِﺓ‬
ِ ‫ﺪﻧﻴﺎ َﻭﺍﻵ‬
‫ﻥ ﺍﻟ ﱡ‬
َ ‫ﺣﻤﺎ‬
ْ ‫ﻳﺎ َﺭ‬
O the Lord of the Ascending Stairways; O 
y¡ dh¡ alma`¡riji y¡ dh¡
the Lord of sanctity;  alqudsi, ،‫ﺱ‬
ِ ‫ﺪ‬
ْ ‫ﺝ ﻳﺎ ﺫﺍ ﺍﻟ ُﻘ‬
ِ ‫ﻳﺎ ﺫﺍ ﺍْﻟ َﻤﻌﺎ ِﺭ‬
O the Creator; O the All‐knowing;  y¡ kh¡liqu y¡ `al¢mu ‫ﻢ‬
ُ ‫ﻖ ﻳﺎ َﻋﻠﻴ‬
ُ ‫ﻳﺎ ﺧﺎِﻟ‬
O the Reliever; O the Turning with 
mercy;  y¡ mufarriju y¡ aww¡bu ‫ﺏ‬
ُ ‫ﺝ ﻳﺎ ﺃ ّﻭﺍ‬
ُ ‫ﻳﺎ ُﻣ َﻔ ﱢﺮ‬
O the Lord of bounty; O the All‐aware;  y¡ dh¡ al§§awli y¡ khab¢ru, ،‫ﺧﺒﻴ ُﺮ‬
َ ‫ﻝ ﻳﺎ‬
ِ ‫ﻄ ْﻮ‬
‫ﻳﺎ ﺫﺍ ﺍﻟ ﱠ‬
O He Who created, but He was not 
y¡ man khalaqa wa lam
created;  yukhlaq ‫ﻖ‬
ْ ‫ﺨ َﻠ‬
ْ ‫ﻢ ُﻳ‬
ْ ‫ﻖ َﻭَﻟ‬
َ ‫ﺧ َﻠ‬

ْ ‫ﻳﺎ َﻣ‬
O He Who never begets nor was he 
y¡ man lam yalid wa lam
begotten;  y£lad,
،‫ﺪ‬
ْ ‫ﻢ ُﻳﻮَﻟ‬
ْ ‫ﺪ َﻭَﻟ‬
ْ ‫ﻢ َﻳ ِﻠ‬
ْ ‫ﻦ َﻟ‬
ْ ‫ﻳﺎ َﻣ‬
O He Who is different from all things;  y¡ man b¡na mina alash¢¡‘i ‫ﺷﻴﺎ ِء‬
ْ ‫ﻦ ﺍﻷ‬
َ ‫ﻥ ِﻣ‬
َ ‫ﻦ ﺑﺎ‬
ْ ‫ﻳﺎ َﻣ‬
And all things are different from Him out 
of His prevelance over them and their 
wa b¡nati alash¢¡‘u minhu ‫ﺍﻷﺷــ ﻴﺎ ُء ِﻣ ْﻨ ُﻪ ِﺑ َﻘ ْﻬ ِﺮ ِﻩ َﻟ ﻬﺎ‬
ْ ‫ﺖ‬ ِ َ‫َﻭ ﺑﺎﻧ‬
biqahrihi lah¡ wa khu¤£`ih¡
submission before Him;  lahu, ،‫ﺧﻀﻮ ِﻋﻬﺎ َﻟ ُﻪ‬
ُ ‫َﻭ‬
O He Who created the oceans and 
y¡ man khalaqa albi¦¡ra wa
caused the rivers to flow;  ajr¡ alanh¡ra
‫ﺟﺮﻯ ﺍﻷْﻧﻬﺎ َﺭ‬
ْ ‫ﻖ ﺍﻟ ِﺒﺤﺎ َﺭ َﻭﺃ‬
َ ‫ﺧ َﻠ‬
َ ‫ﻦ‬
ْ ‫ﻳﺎ َﻣ‬
And He caused the trees to grow and He 
wa anbata alashj¡ra wa
extracted fire from them  akhraja minh¡ alnn¡ra,
،‫ﺝ ِﻣ ْﻨﻬﺎ ﺍﻟ ّﻨﺎ َﺭ‬
َ ‫ﺧ َﺮ‬
ْ ‫ﺷﺠﺎ َﺭ َﻭﺃ‬
ْ ‫ﺖ ﺍﻷ‬
َ ‫َﻭﺃْﻧ َﺒ‬
And extracted plants and rapes and the  wa min y¡bisi alara¤¢na ‫ﺕ‬
َ ‫ﻦ ﺍ ﻟ ﱠﻨ ﺒﺎ‬
َ ‫ﺲ ﺍﻷ َﺭﺿـــ ﻴ‬
ِ ‫ﻦ ﻳﺎِﺑ‬
ْ ‫َﻭ ِﻣ‬
other fruits from the dry lands.   alnnab¡ta wal-a`n¡ba wa
s¡’ira al§h§him¡ri. .‫ﺏ َﻭﺳﺎِﺋ َﺮ ﺍﻟ ﱢﺜﻤﺎ ِﺭ‬

O He Who set apart the river for His 
servant, Moses, peace be upon him, and 
y¡ f¡liqa alba¦ri li`abdihi ِ‫ﺪ ِﻩ ﻣﻮﺳــﻰ َﻋ َﻠ ْﻴﻪ‬
ِ ‫ﻖ ﺍﻟ َﺒﺤ ِﺮ ِﻟ َﻌ ْﺒ‬
َ ‫ﻳﺎ ﻓﺎِﻟ‬
m£s¡ `alayhi alssal¡mu wa
He Who spoke to him,  mukallimahu, ،‫ﻜ ﱢﻠ َﻤ ُﻪ‬
َ ‫ﺴﻼ ُﻡ َﻭ ُﻣ‬
‫ﺍﻟ ﱠ‬
And He Who drowned Pharaoh and 
wa mughriqa fir`awna wa
faction  ¦izbahu ‫ﺣ ْﺰَﺑ ُﻪ‬
ِ ‫ﻥ َﻭ‬
َ ‫ﻕ ِﻓ ْﺮ َﻋ ْﻮ‬
َ ‫َﻭ ُﻣ ْﻐ ِﺮ‬
And He Who destroyed Nimrud and his 
wa muhlika namr£da wa
groups  ashy¡`ahu,
،‫ﺷﻴﺎ َﻋ ُﻪ‬
ْ ‫ﻚ َﻧ ْﻤﺮﻭ َﺩ َﻭﺃ‬
َ ‫َﻭ ُﻣ ْﻬ ِﻠ‬
And He Who made the iron pliant for His  wa mulayyina al¦ad¢di ِ‫ﺨﻠﻴ َﻔ ِﺘ ِﻪ ﺩﺍﻭﻭ َﺩ َﻋ َﻠ ْﻴﻪ‬
َ ‫ﺪ ِﻟ‬
ِ ‫ﺤﺪﻳ‬
َ ‫ﻦ ﺍﻟ‬
َ ‫َﻭ ُﻣ َﻠ ﱢﻴ‬
vicegerent, David, peace be upon him,  likhal¢fatihi d¡w£da `alayhi
alssal¡mu, ،‫ﺴﻼ ُﻡ‬
‫ﺍﻟ ﱠ‬
And He Who subdued the hills to hymn 
the praises (of their Lord) with him at 
wa musakhkhira aljib¡li ‫ﺪ ﱢﻭ‬
ُ ‫ﻦ ِﺑﺎﻟ ُﻐ‬
َ ‫ﺤ‬
ْ ‫ﺴ ﱢﺒ‬
َ ‫ﻝ َﻣ َﻌ ُﻪ ُﻳ‬
ِ ‫ﺠﺒﺎ‬
ِ ‫ﺨ َﺮ ﺍﻟ‬
‫ﺴﱢ‬َ ‫َﻭ ُﻣ‬
ma`ahu yusabbi¦na
nightfall and sunrise;  bi¡lghuduwwi wal-¡¥¡li, ،‫ﻝ‬
ِ ‫َﻭﺍﻵﺻﺎ‬
And He Who subdued the birds and the 
wa musakhkhira al§§ayri wal-
‫ﺡ‬
ِ ‫ﻄ ْﻴ ِﺮ َﻭﺍ ﻟ َﻬﻮﺍ ﱢﻡ َﻭﺍ ﻟ ﱢﺮ ﻳﺎ‬
‫ﺨ َﺮ ﺍ ﻟ ﱠ‬
‫ﺴــ ﱢ‬
َ ‫َﻭ ُﻣ‬
verments and the winds and the jinn and 
haw¡mmi wal-rriy¡¦i wal-
the humankind for His servant, Solomon,  jinni wal-insi li`abdika ‫ﻥ‬
َ ‫ﺳــ َﻠ ْﻴ ﻤﺎ‬
ُ ‫ﻙ‬
َ ‫ﺪ‬
ِ ‫ﺲ ِﻟ َﻌ ْﺒ‬
ِ ‫ﻦ َﻭﺍﻹْﻧ‬
‫ﺠ ﱢ‬
ِ ‫َﻭﺍ ﻟ‬
peace be upon him;  sulaym¡na `alayhi alssal¡mu
‫ﺴﻼ ُﻡ‬
‫َﻋ َﻠ ْﻴ ِﻪ ﺍﻟ ﱠ‬
I beseech You by Your Name to which 
wa as-aluka bismika alladhy
ُ‫ﻚ ﺍﻟﱠﺬﻱ ﺍ ْﻫ َﺘ ﱠﺰ َﻟﻪ‬
َ ‫ﺎﺳــ ِﻤ‬
ْ ‫ﻚ ِﺑ‬
َ ُ‫ﻭﺃﺳــْﺄﻟ‬
Your Throen shook  ahtazza lahu `arshuka
‫ﻚ‬
َ ‫ﺷ‬
ُ ‫َﻋ ْﺮ‬
And by which Your angels were 
delighted;  wa fari¦at bihi mal¡’ikatuka, ،‫ﻚ‬
َ ‫ﻜ ُﺘ‬
َ ‫ﺖ ِﺑ ِﻪ َﻣﻼِﺋ‬
ْ ‫ﺣ‬
َ ‫َﻭ َﻓ ِﺮ‬
So, there is no god save You;  fal¡ il¡ha ill¡ anta ‫ﺖ‬
َ ‫ﻻ ﺃْﻧ‬
ّ ‫َﻓﻼ ﺇَﻟ َﻪ ﺇ‬
The Creator of souls and the Maker of  kh¡liqu alnnasamati wa ُ‫ﺉ ﺍﻟ ﱠﻨﻮﻯ َﻭ ﻓﺎِﻟﻖ‬
ُ ‫ﺴــ َﻤ ِﺔ َﻭ ﺑﺎ ِﺭ‬
َ ‫ﻖ ﺍﻟ ﱠﻨ‬
ُ ‫ﺧﺎِﻟ‬
seeds and the Splitter of grains;  b¡r’iu alnnaw¡ wa f¡liqu
al¦abbati, ،‫ﺤ ﱠﺒ ِﺔ‬
َ ‫ﺍﻟ‬
And by Your Name: the Almighty, the 
wa bismika al`az¢zi aljal¢li
‫ﻜ ﺒﻴ ِﺮ‬
َ ‫ﻞ ﺍﻟ‬
ِ ‫ﺠﻠ ﻴ‬
َ ‫ﻚ ﺍﻟ َﻌﺰﻳ ِﺰ ﺍﻟ‬
َ ‫ﺎﺳــ ِﻤ‬
ْ ‫َﻭِﺑ‬
Lofty, the Great, the high Exalted;  alkab¢ri almuta`¡li.
.‫ﻝ‬
ِ ‫ﺍﻟ ُﻤ َﺘﻌﺎ‬
And by Your Name by which Your  wa bismika alladhy yanfukhu
َ‫ﺪﻙ‬
ُ ‫ﺦ ِﺑ ِﻪ َﻋ ْﺒ‬
ُ ‫ﻚ ﺍﻟ ﱠﺬﻱ َﻳ ْﻨ ُﻔ‬
َ ‫ﺎﺳــ ِﻤ‬
ْ ‫َﻭِﺑ‬
servant and angel, Michael, peace be  bihi `abduka wa malakuka
upon him, shall blow the Trumpet,  isr¡f¢lu `alayhi alssal¡mu fy
‫ﻞ َﻋ َﻠ ْﻴ ِﻪ ﺍﻟ ﱠﺴﻼ ُﻡ ﻓﻲ‬
ُ ‫ﻚ ﺇ ْﺳﺮﺍﻓﻴ‬
َ ‫ﻜ‬
ُ ‫َﻭ َﻣ َﻠ‬
al¥¥£ri,
،‫ﺼﻮ ِﺭ‬
ّ ‫ﺍﻟ‬
And thus the inhabitants of graves shall 
stand up, hasting to the place of 
fayaq£mu ahlu alqub£ri ‫ﺳــﺮﺍ ﻋﴼ ﺇ ﻟﻰ‬
ِ ‫ﻞ ﺍ ﻟ ُﻘ ﺒﻮ ِﺭ‬
ُ ‫َﻓ َﻴ ﻘﻮ ُﻡ ﺃ ْﻫ‬
sir¡`an il¡ alma¦shari
resurrection;  yansil£na, ،‫ﻥ‬
َ ‫ﺴﻠﻮ‬
ِ ‫ﺸ ِﺮ َﻳ ْﻨ‬
َ ‫ﺤ‬
ْ ‫ﺍْﻟ َﻤ‬

And by Your Name by which You uplifted  wa bismika alladhy rafa`ta ِ‫ﺖ ِﺑ ِﻪ ﺍﻟ ﱠﺴﻤﺎﻭﺍﺕ‬

َ ‫ﻚ ﺍﻟﱠﺬﻱ َﺭ َﻓ ْﻌ‬
َ ‫َﻭِﺑﺎ ْﺳ ِﻤ‬
the heavens without supports  bihi alssam¡w¡ti min ghayri
`im¡din ‫ﻦ َﻏ ْﻴ ِﺮ ِﻋﻤﺎ ٍﺩ‬
ْ ‫ِﻣ‬
And by which You made bulwarks for the 
wa ja`alta bihi lilara¤¢na
earth;  awt¡dan, ،‫ﻦ ﺃﻭﺗﺎﺩﴽ‬
َ ‫ﺖ ِﺑ ِﻪ ِﻟﻸ َﺭﺿﻴ‬
َ ‫ﺟ َﻌ ْﻠ‬
َ ‫َﻭ‬
And by Your Name by which You 
surfaced the earth on the repressed 
wa bismika alladhy sa§a¦ta َ‫ﺖ ِﺑ ِﻪ ﺍﻷ َﺭ ﺿﻴﻦ‬
َ ‫ﺤ‬
ْ‫ﻄ‬َ‫ﺳ‬
َ ‫ﻚ ﺍﻟﱠﺬﻱ‬
َ ‫ﺳ ِﻤ‬
ْ ‫َﻭِﺑﺎ‬
bihi alara¤¢na fawqa alm¡‘i
water;  alma¦b£si, ،‫ﺱ‬
ِ ‫ﺤﺒﻮ‬
ْ ‫ﻕ ﺍﻟﻤﺎ ِء ﺍْﻟ َﻤ‬
َ ‫َﻓ ْﻮ‬
And by Your Name by which You 
wa bismika alladhy ¦abasta
repressed that water;  bihi dhlika alm¡‘a
‫ﻚ ﺍﻟﻤﺎ َء‬
َ ‫ﺖ ِﺑ ِﻪ ﺫِﻟ‬
َ ‫ﺴ‬
ْ ‫ﺣ َﺒ‬
َ ‫ﻚ ﺍﻟﱠﺬﻱ‬
َ ‫ﺳ ِﻤ‬
ْ ‫َﻭِﺑﺎ‬
And by Your Name by which You caused 
him whom You chose for undertaking 
wa bismika alladhy ¦amalta َ‫ﺖ ِﺑ ِﻪ ﺍﻷ َﺭ ﺿﻴﻦ‬
َ ‫ﺣ َﻤ ْﻠ‬
َ ‫ﻚ ﺍﻟﱠﺬﻱ‬
َ ‫َﻭِﺑﺎ ْﺳ ِﻤ‬
bihi alara¤¢na mani
the earth to undertake it  akhtartahu li¦amlih¡, ،‫ﺤ ْﻤ ِﻠﻬﺎ‬
َ ‫ﺧ َﺘ ْﺮَﺗ ُﻪ ِﻟ‬
ْ ‫ﻦﺍ‬
ِ ‫َﻣ‬
And You supplied him with the power  wa ja`alta lahu mina ‫ﻥ ِﺑ ِﻪ‬
َ ‫ﺍﺳــ َﺘ ﻌﺎ‬
ْ ‫ﻦ ﺍﻟ ُﻘ ﱠﻮ ِﺓ ﻣﺎ‬
َ ‫ﺖ َﻟ ُﻪ ِﻣ‬
َ ‫ﺟ َﻌ ْﻠ‬
َ ‫َﻭ‬
that helped him undertake it;  alquwwati m¡ asta`¡na bihi
`al¡ ¦amlih¡. .‫ﺣ ْﻤ ِﻠﻬﺎ‬
َ ‫َﻋﻠﻰ‬
And by Your Name by which the sun and 
wa bismika alladhy tajry bihi
‫ﺲ‬
ُ ‫ﺠﺮﻱ ِﺑ ِﻪ ﺍﻟﺸﱠ ـ ْﻤ‬
ْ ‫ﻚ ﺍﻟﱠﺬﻱ َﺗ‬
َ ‫ﺎﺳ ـ ِﻤ‬
ْ ‫َﻭِﺑ‬
the moon move;  alshshamsu wal-qamaru,
،‫َﻭﺍﻟ َﻘ َﻤ ُﺮ‬
And by Your Name by which You strip 
wa bismika alladhy salakhta
‫ﻦ‬
َ ‫ﺖ ِﺑ ِﻪ ﺍﻟ ﱠﻨﻬﺎ َﺭ ِﻣ‬
َ ‫ﺨ‬
ْ ‫ﺳ َﻠ‬
َ ‫ﻚ ﺍﻟﱠﺬﻱ‬
َ ‫ﺳ ِﻤ‬
ْ ‫َﻭِﺑﺎ‬
the day of the night;  bihi alnnah¡ra mina allayli,
،‫ﻞ‬
ِ ‫ﺍﻟ َﻠ ْﻴ‬
And by Your Name; if You are prayed by 
it, You bring down the provisions of the 
wa bismika alladhy idh¡ َ‫ﺖ ِﺑ ِﻪ ﺃْﻧ َﺰْﻟﺖ‬
َ ‫ﻚ ﺍﻟﱠﺬﻱ ﺇﺫﺍ ُﺩﻋﻴ‬
َ ‫ﺎﺳ ـ ِﻤ‬
ْ ‫َﻭِﺑ‬
du`¢ta bihi anzalta arz¡qa
servants  al`ib¡di ‫ﻕ ﺍﻟ ِﻌﺒﺎ ِﺩ‬
َ ‫ﺃ ْﺭﺯﺍ‬
And all Your creatures  wa jam¢`i khalqika ‫ﻚ‬
َ ‫ﺧ ْﻠ ِﻘ‬
َ ‫ﻊ‬
ِ ‫ﺟﻤﻴ‬
َ ‫َﻭ‬
And Your lands and Your oceans  wa ar¤ika wa bi¦¡rika ‫ﻙ‬
َ ‫ﻚ َﻭِﺑﺤﺎ ِﺭ‬
َ ‫ﺿ‬
ِ ‫َﻭﺃ ْﺭ‬
And the inhabitants of the oceans and 
wa sukk¡ni albi¦¡ri wal-
the verments  haw¡mmi,
،‫ﻥ ﺍﻟ ِﺒﺤﺎ ِﺭ َﻭﺍﻟ ّﻬﻮﺍ ﱢﻡ‬
ِ ‫ﻜﺎ‬
ّ‫ﺳ‬ُ ‫َﻭ‬
And the jinn and the humankind  wal-jinni wal-insi ‫ﺲ‬
ِ ‫ﻦ َﻭﺍﻹْﻧ‬
‫ﺠ ﱢ‬
ِ ‫َﻭﺍﻟ‬
And every creeping creature that You 
wa kulli d¡bbatin anta
grasp by the forelock!   ¡khidhun bin¡¥iyatih¡
‫ﺻ َﻴ ِﺘﻬﺎ‬
ِ ‫ﺬ ِﺑﻨﺎ‬
ٌ‫ﺧ‬
ِ ‫ﺖﺁ‬
َ ‫ﻞ ﺩﺍﱠﺑ ٍﺔ ﺃْﻧ‬
‫َﻭ ُﻛ ﱢ‬
You verily have power over all things.  innaka `al¡ kulli shay‘
qad¢run. .‫ﻲ ْء َﻗﺪﻳ ٌﺮ‬
ْ ‫ﺷ‬
َ ‫ﻞ‬
‫ﻚ َﻋﻠﻰ ُﻛ ﱢ‬
َ ‫ﺇﱠﻧ‬

َ ‫ﻚ ﺍﻟﱠﺬﻱ‬
َ ‫ﺎﺳــ ِﻤ‬
ْ ‫َﻭِﺑ‬
wing for Ja`far, peace be upon him, by  bihi lija`fara `alayhi
which he flies with the angels;  alssal¡mu jan¡¦an ya§¢ru bihi
‫ﻊ‬
َ ‫ﺟ ﻨﺎ ﺣﴼ َﻳﻄﻴ ُﺮ ِﺑ ِﻪ َﻣ‬
َ ‫ﺍﻟﺴــﻼ ُﻡ‬
‫َﻋ َﻠ ْﻴ ِﻪ ﱠ‬
ma`a almal¡’ikati,
،‫ﻜ ِﺔ‬
َ ‫ﺍْﻟ َﻤﻼِﺋ‬
And by Your Name by which Jonah—
wa bismika alladhy da`¡ka
ِ‫ﺲ َﻋ َﻠ ْﻴﻪ‬
ُ ‫ﻙ ِﺑ ِﻪ ُﻳﻮُﻧ‬
َ ‫ﻚ ﺍﻟﱠﺬﻱ َﺩﻋﺎ‬
َ ‫ﺳ ِﻤ‬
ْ ‫َﻭِﺑﺎ‬
peace be upon him—prayed You from 
bihi yuwnusu `alayhi
the interior of the whale; and You thus  alssal¡mu fy ba§ni al¦£ti ُ‫ﺟ َﺘﻪ‬
ْ ‫ﺧ َﺮ‬
ْ ‫ﺕ َﻓﺄ‬
ِ ‫ﻦ ﺍﻟﺤﻮ‬
ِ ‫ﻄ‬
ْ ‫ﺍﻟﺴــﻼ ُﻡ ﻓﻲ َﺑ‬
‫ﱠ‬
took him out of there;  fakhrajtahu minhu,
،‫ِﻣ ْﻨ ُﻪ‬
And by Your Name by which You caused  wa bismika alladhy anbatta ‫ﺠ َﺮ ًﺓ‬
َ‫ﺷ‬َ ‫ﺖ ِﺑ ِﻪ َﻋ َﻠ ْﻴ ِﻪ‬
‫ﻚ ﺍﻟﱠﺬﻱ ﺃْﻧ َﺒ ﱠ‬
َ ‫ﺳ ِﻤ‬
ْ ‫َﻭِﺑﺎ‬
a tree of gourd to grow above him;  bihi `alayhi shajaratan min
yaq§¢nin, ،‫ﻦ‬
ٍ ‫ﻦ َﻳ ْﻘﻄﻴ‬
ْ ‫ِﻣ‬
Hence, You responded to him and 
relieved from the distress that he had 
f¡stajabta lahu wa kashafta ‫ﻥ‬
َ ‫ﺖ َﻋ ْﻨ ُﻪ ﻣﺎ ﻛﺎ‬
َ ‫ﺖ َﻟ ُﻪ َﻭ َﻛ َﺸ ْﻔ‬
َ ‫ﺠ ْﺒ‬
َ ‫َﻓﺎ ْﺳ َﺘ‬
`anhu m¡ k¡na f¢hi man ¤¢qi
experienced in the interior of the whale;  ba§ni al¦£ti. .‫ﺕ‬
ِ ‫ﻦ ﺍﻟﺤﻮ‬
ِ ‫ﻄ‬
ْ ‫ﻖ َﺑ‬
ِ ‫ﻦ ﺿﻴ‬
ْ ‫ﻓﻴ ِﻪ َﻣ‬
I beseech You to send blessings upon 
as-aluka an tu¥alliya `al¡
Mu¦ammad, Your servant and Your 
mu¦ammadin `abdika wa
َ‫ﺪﻙ‬
ِ ‫ﺪ َﻋ ْﺒ‬
ٍ ‫ﺤ ﱠﻤ‬
َ ‫ﻲ َﻋﻠﻰ ُﻣ‬
َ ‫ﺼ ﱢﻠ‬
َ ‫ﻥ ُﺗ‬
ْ ‫ﻚﺃ‬
َ ‫ﺃﺳْﺄُﻟ‬
Messenger, and upon his Household, the  ras£lika wa `al¡ ¡lihi
Immaculate,  al§§ayyib¢na, ،‫ﻦ‬
َ ‫ﻄ ﱢﻴﺒﻴ‬
‫ﻚ َﻭ َﻋﻠﻰ ﺁِﻟ ِﻪ ﺍﻟ ﱠ‬
َ ‫َﻭ َﺭﺳﻮِﻟ‬
And to relieve me (from my distress) and 
to remove away my harm and to save 
wa an tufarrija `anny wa ‫ﺿــ ّﺮﻱ‬
ُ ‫ﻒ‬
َ ‫ﺸــ‬
ِ ‫ﻜ‬
ْ ‫ﺝ َﻋ ّﻨﻲ َﻭَﺗ‬
َ ‫ﻥ ُﺗ َﻔ ﱢﺮ‬
ْ ‫َﻭﺃ‬
takshifa ¤urry wa
me from my troubles  tastanqidhany min war§at¢, ،‫ﻦ َﻭﺭ َﻃﺘﻲ‬
ْ ‫ﺬﻧﻲ ِﻣ‬
َ ‫ﺴ َﺘ ْﻨ ِﻘ‬
ْ ‫َﻭَﺗ‬
And to release me from my ordeal  wa tukhalli¥any min mi¦nat¢, ،‫ﺤ َﻨﺘﻲ‬
ْ ‫ﻦ ِﻣ‬
ْ ‫ﺼﻨﻲ ِﻣ‬
َ ‫ﺨ ﱢﻠ‬
َ ‫َﻭُﺗ‬
And to help me settle my debts  wa taq¤iya `anny duy£n¢, ،‫ﻲ َﻋ ّﻨﻲ ُﺩﻳﻮﻧﻲ‬
َ ‫ﻀ‬
ِ ‫َﻭَﺗ ْﻘ‬
And to help me fulfill my trust  wa tu´addiya `anny
am¡nat¢, ،‫ﻱ َﻋ ّﻨﻲ ﺃﻣﺎَﻧﺘﻲ‬
َ ‫َﻭُﺗ َﺆ ﱢﺩ‬
And to suppress my enemies  wa takbuta a`d¡’¢, ،‫ﺖ ﺃ ْﻋﺪﺍﺋﻲ‬
َ ‫ﻜ ُﺒ‬
ْ ‫َﻭَﺗ‬
And not to make those who envy me 
rejoice at my misfortune  wa l¡ tushmita by ¦uss¡d¢, ،‫ﺴﺎﺩﻱ‬
ّ ‫ﺣ‬
ُ ‫ﺖ ﺑﻲ‬
َ ‫ﺸ ِﻤ‬
ْ ‫َﻭﻻ ُﺗ‬
And not to try me through that which I 
wa l¡ tabtaliyany bim¡ l¡
cannot stand  §¡qata ly bihi, ،‫َﻭﻻ َﺗ ْﺒ َﺘ ِﻠ َﻴﻨﻲ ِﺑﻤﺎ ﻻ ﻃﺎ َﻗ َﺔ ﻟﻲ ِﺑ ِﻪ‬
And to make me attain my hope  wa an tuballighany
aumn¢yat¢,
،‫ﻥ ُﺗ َﺒ ﱢﻠ َﻐﻨﻲ ُﺃ ْﻣ ِﻨ ﱠﻴﺘﻲ‬
ْ ‫َﻭﺃ‬
And to make easy for me my ordeal  wa tusahhila ly mi¦nat¢, ،‫ﺤﻨَﺘﻲ‬
ْ ‫ﻞ ﻟﻲ ِﻣ‬
َ ‫ﺴ ﱢﻬ‬
َ ‫َﻭُﺗ‬
And to facilitate my determination  wa tuyassira ly ar¡dat¢, ،‫ﺴ َﺮ ﻟﻲ ﺃﺭﺍ َﺩﺗﻲ‬
‫َﻭُﺗ َﻴ ﱢ‬
And to make me reach my desire  wa tuw¥ilany il¡ bughyat¢, ،‫ﺻ َﻠﻨﻲ ﺇﻟﻰ ُﺑ ْﻐ َﻴﺘﻲ‬

And to join for me the welfare of the two 
abodes (i.e. this world and the Next  wa tajma`a ly khayra
World)  aldd¡rayni,
،‫ﻦ‬
ِ ‫ﺪﺍ َﺭْﻳ‬
ّ ‫ﺧ ْﻴ َﺮ ﺍﻟ‬
َ ‫ﻊ ﻟﻲ‬
َ ‫ﺠ َﻤ‬
ْ ‫َﻭَﺗ‬
And to safeguard me as well as 
wa ta¦rusany wa kulla man
everybody for whom I care  yu`n¢ny amruhu,
،‫ﻦ ُﻳﻌﻨﻴﻨﻲ ﺃ ْﻣ ُﺮ ُﻩ‬
ْ ‫ﻞ َﻣ‬
‫ﺳﻨﻲ َﻭ ُﻛ ﱠ‬
َ ‫ﺤ ُﺮ‬
ْ ‫َﻭَﺗ‬
With Your eye that never sleeps at night 
bi`aynika allty l¡ tan¡mu fy
‫ﻞ‬
ِ ‫ﻚ ﺍّﻟ ﺘﻲ ﻻ َﺗ ﻨﺎ ُﻡ ﻓﻲ ﺍ ﻟ َﻠ ْﻴ‬
َ ‫ِﺑ َﻌ ﻴ ِﻨ‬
or in days;  allayli wal-nnah¡ri,
،‫َﻭﺍﻟ ﱠﻨﻬﺎ ِﺭ‬
O the Lord of majesty and honor and 
y¡ dh¡ aljal¡li wal-ikr¡mi
‫ﺍﻷﺳــ ﻤﺎ ِء‬
ْ ‫ﻝ ﻭﺍﻹ ْﻛﺮﺍ ِﻡ َﻭ‬
ِ ‫ﺠﻼ‬
َ ‫ﻳﺎ ﺫﺍ ﺍ ﻟ‬
Grand Names.  wal-asm¡‘i al`i¨¡mi.
.‫ﺍﻟ ِﻌﻈﺎ ِﻡ‬
O Allah: O my Lord: I am verily Your 
servant and the son of Your servant and 
all¡humma y¡ rabbu ana َ‫ﺪﻙ‬
ِ ‫ﻦ َﻋ ْﺒ‬
ُ ‫ﻙ َﻭﺍْﺑ‬
َ ‫ﺪ‬
ُ ‫ﺏ ﺃ ﻧﺎ َﻋ ْﺒ‬
‫ﻢ ﻳﺎ َﺭ ﱡ‬
‫ﺍَﻟ ّﻠ ُﻬ ﱠ‬
`abduka w¡bnu `abdika
Your bondwoman  w¡bnu amatika ‫ﻚ‬
َ ‫ﻦ ﺃ َﻣ ِﺘ‬
ُ ‫َﻭﺍْﺑ‬
And I am one of the loyalists of Your 
Prophet’s Household—peace of Allah be 
wa min awliy¡‘i ahli bayti ‫ﷲ‬
ُ ‫ﺻ ّﻠﻰ ﺍ‬
َ ‫ﻚ‬
َ ‫ﺖ َﻧ ِﺒ ﱢﻴ‬
ِ ‫ﻞ َﺑ ْﻴ‬
ِ ‫ﻦ ﺃ ْﻭِﻟﻴﺎ ِء ﺃ ْﻫ‬
ْ ‫َﻭ ِﻣ‬
nabiyyika ¥all¡ all¡hu `alayhi
upon him and them—  wa `alayhim, ،‫ﻢ‬
ْ ‫َﻋ َﻠ ْﻴ ِﻪ َﻭ َﻋ َﻠ ْﻴ ِﻬ‬
Upon whom You showered blessings  ¡lladh¢na b¡rakta `alayhim ‫ﻢ‬
ْ ‫ﺖ َﻋ َﻠ ْﻴ ِﻬ‬
َ ‫ﻦ ﺑﺎ َﺭ ْﻛ‬
َ ‫ﺍﱠﻟﺬﻳ‬
And whom You had mercy and You 
wa ra¦imtahum wa ¥allayta
blessed  `alayhim
‫ﻢ‬
ْ ‫ﺖ َﻋ َﻠ ْﻴ ِﻬ‬
َ ‫ﺻ ﱠﻠ ْﻴ‬
َ ‫ﻢ َﻭ‬
ْ ‫ﺣ ْﻤ َﺘ ُﻬ‬
ِ ‫َﻭ َﺭ‬
In the same way as You blessed and 
sanctified Abraham and the household  kam¡ ¥allayta wa b¡rakta
‫ﻢ‬
َ ‫ﺖ َﻋﻠﻰ ﺇْﺑﺮﺍﻫﻴ‬
َ ‫ﺖ َﻭ ﺑﺎ َﺭ ْﻛ‬
َ ‫ﺻــ ﱠﻠ ْﻴ‬
َ ‫َﻛ ﻤﺎ‬
`al¡ ibr¡h¢ma wa ¡li ibr¡h¢mi
of Abraham; 
‫ﻢ‬
ِ ‫ﻝ ﺇﺑﺮﺍﻫﻴ‬
ِ ‫َﻭﺁ‬
Verily, You are worthy of all praise, full of 
all Glory.  innaka ¦am¢dun maj¢dun, ،‫ﺪ‬
ٌ ‫ﺪ َﻣﺠﻴ‬
ٌ ‫ﺣﻤﻴ‬
َ ‫ﻚ‬
َ ‫ﺇﱠﻧ‬
And depending upon Your glory and Your 
bountifulness,  wa limajdika wa §awlika, ،‫ﻚ‬
َ ‫ﻙ َﻭ َﻃ ْﻮِﻟ‬
َ ‫ﺪ‬
ِ‫ﺠ‬
ْ ‫َﻭِﻟ َﻤ‬
I beseech You; O my Lord; O my Lord;  as-aluka y¡ rabb¡hu y¡
rabb¡hu
‫ﻚ ﻳﺎ َﺭّﺑﺎ ُﻩ ﻳﺎ َﺭّﺑﺎ ُﻩ‬
َ ‫ﺃﺳْﺄُﻟ‬
O my Lord; O my Lord;  y¡ rabb¡hu y¡ rabb¡hu ‫ﻳﺎ َﺭّﺑﺎ ُﻩ ﻳﺎ َﺭّﺑﺎ ُﻩ‬
O my Lord; O my Lord;  y¡ rabb¡hu y¡ rabb¡hu ‫ﻳﺎ َﺭّﺑﺎ ُﻩ ﻳﺎ َﺭّﺑﺎ ُﻩ‬
O my Lord; O my Lord;  y¡ rabb¡hu y¡ rabb¡hu ‫ﻳﺎ َﺭّﺑﺎ ُﻩ ﻳﺎ َﺭّﺑﺎ ُﻩ‬
O my Lord; O my Lord;  y¡ rabb¡hu y¡ rabb¡hu ‫ﻳﺎ َﺭّﺑﺎ ُﻩ ﻳﺎ َﺭّﺑﺎ ُﻩ‬
In the name of Mu¦ammad, Your servant 
bi¦aqqi mu¦ammadin
and Messenger,  `abdika wa ras£lika ‫ﻚ‬
َ ‫ﻙ َﻭ َﺭﺳﻮِﻟ‬

ٍ ‫ﺤ ﱠﻤ‬

Peace of Allah be upon his and his 
Household,  ¥all¡ all¡hu `alayhi wa ¡lihi, ،‫ﷲ َﻋ َﻠ ْﻴ ِﻪ َﻭﺁِﻟ ِﻪ‬
ُ ‫ﺻ ّﻠﻰ ﺍ‬
َ
And in the name of Your duty toward 
Yourself  wa bi¦aqqika `al¡ nafsika ‫ﻚ‬
َ ‫ﺴ‬
ِ ‫ﻚ َﻋﻠﻰ َﻧ ْﻔ‬
َ ‫ﺤ ﱢﻘ‬
َ ‫َﻭِﺑ‬
That You may be the enemy of my 
ill¡ kha¥amta a`d¡’y wa
enemies and those who envy me  ¦uss¡d¢
‫ﺴﺎﺩﻱ‬
ّ ‫ﺣ‬
ُ ‫ﺖ ﺃ ْﻋﺪﺍﺋﻲ َﻭ‬
َ ‫ﺼ ْﻤ‬
َ ‫ﺧ‬
َ ‫ﻻ‬
ّ‫ﺇ‬
And that You may disappoint them and 
Wa khadhaltahum
revenge on them for me  wantaqamta ly minhum,
،‫ﻢ‬
ْ ‫ﺖ ﻟﻲ ِﻣ ْﻨ ُﻬ‬
َ ‫ﻢ َﻭﺍْﻧ َﺘ َﻘ ْﻤ‬
ْ ‫ﺬْﻟ َﺘ ُﻬ‬
َ‫ﺧ‬
َ ‫َﻭ‬
And make me prevail on them and do 
wa a¨-hartany `alayhim wa
with them on my behalf  kafaytany amrahum,
،‫ﻢ‬
ْ ‫ﻢ َﻭ َﻛ َﻔ ْﻴ َﺘﻨﻲ ﺃ ْﻣ َﺮ ُﻫ‬
ْ ‫َﻭﺃ ْﻇ َﻬ ْﺮَﺗﻨﻲ َﻋ َﻠ ْﻴ ِﻬ‬
And that You may grant me victory over 
wa na¥artany `alayhim wa
them and guard me against them  ¦arastany minhum, ،‫ﻢ‬
ْ ‫ﺳ َﺘﻨﻲ ِﻣ ْﻨ ُﻬ‬
ْ ‫ﺣ َﺮ‬
َ ‫ﻢ َﻭ‬
ْ ‫ﺼ ْﺮَﺗﻨﻲ َﻋ َﻠ ْﻴ ِﻬ‬
َ ‫َﻭَﻧ‬
And expand my sustenance  wa wassa`ta `alayya fy rizq¢ ‫ﻲ ﻓﻲ ِﺭ ْﺯﻗﻲ‬
‫ﺖ َﻋ َﻠ ﱠ‬
َ ‫ﺳ ْﻌ‬
‫َﻭ َﻭ ﱠ‬
And make me attain the ultimate of my 
wa ballaghtany gh¡yata
hopes;  amal¢ ‫َﻭَﺑ ﱠﻠ ْﻐ َﺘﻨﻲ ﻏﺎَﻳ َﺔ ﺃ َﻣﻠﻲ‬
Verily, You are All‐hearing, Responding.  innaka sam¢`un muj¢bun. .‫ﺐ‬

َ ‫ﻚ‬
