3. How many lead stories a newspaper has?

A newspaper contains front page and back page along with pages of different sections that represents
stories of different subjects like national, city, business, world/international/foreign, sports and
entertainment/amusement.

These sections consists of 3 to 4 pages depends upon the number of news stories available.

On the main page of every section including front and back page a top news story appears at prime
position occupying max space than other stories. This story contains a most worthy news it is called lead
story. On the basis of important news these sections have main lead story and second lead story.

So a total number of leads story depends on the sections a newspapers includes. For instance in “The
News” newspaper I marked red and blue for main and second lead stories of a complete newspaper
respectively so we can easily evaluate from these 7 pages that this newspaper has 14 lead stories.
