ARTS AND IT’S ELEMENTS
Uses of the Art Elements

1. SYMBOL – They are made up of different shades used to symbolizes


objects. Object are simplified so that only the prominent part is
presented.

2. PICTURES – The use of arts give the different on how the pictures are
being represented. The conservative artist represents things exactly as
they see in nature, while the modernist tries to interpret as they fell it.

3. EMOTIONS – Being expressed by the different element. They


symbolize or suggest emotions, despair, mourning, hope, love,
struggle, crying, violence, kissing, laughing and other.

Elements of Beauty
Beauty – is a quality of visible objects which tends to arouse the feeling of
joy,
and satisfaction in an individual.

Two Kinds of Beauty

Artificial beauty – is anything done or made by men, that is intended for his
satisfaction. This kind of beauty has a temporary effect and is
easily
lost. Example: dresses, automobile, shoes, homes

Natural Beauty – are those things that exist naturally. In other words God
made
things. This kind of beauty has a lasting effect.

Elements of Creative Expression


Creativity – is the ability to do something out of one’s imagination and
feelings.
Inspiration – It is the feeling that makes one do something which seems to
be
impossible.
Memory – The ability or power of retaining one has previously seen or done.
Imagination – The power of building mental images that has not actually
happen
or might not happen at all.
Arrangements and Techniques – The ability of art of putting things in proper
order.

WEIGHTS OF THE ELEMENTS OF BEAUTY/ARTS

Line – has weight not shape

Values- any object with a dark value is usually than with a light value.

Forms – a small form is usually lighter than a large form. A glossy or shiny
object is heavier than a dull form.
Colors – colors with predominant color is usually heavier than cool colors.

Texture – rough surface seems to be heavier that fines one.

Line – is a series of designated symbol, showing direction, immitation, and


emotional experiences.

a. Two objects overlap

b. Shadows produce line- shadow produce by object are seen
