1) The cost, c(x) , in dollars per hour, of running a certain fishing boat at a speed of x, in kilometres per hour, is
modelled by the function c( x) = 0.9 x 2 - 18.1x + 135.1 .
a) At what approximate speed should the boat travel to achieve minimum cost? Round answer to 1 decimal place.

5) Dudley Do-right is riding his horse at his top speed of 10 m/s toward the bank and is 100 m away when the bank
robber begins to accelerate away from the bank going towards Dudley. Thus, Dudley’s position, d, in metres, relative
to the bank is given by d = 10t - 100 where t is the time is seconds. The robber’s distance, d, in metres, away from
the bank after t seconds can be modelled by the equation d = 0.2t 2 .
When will Dudley catch the robber? Round answer to 1 decimal place.
