CLARITA G. RIVERA (77), also known as Tita Caring and Ma’am Rivera, is an off-
service Master Teacher. She taught at various elementary schools, including Hermosa
Elementary school, for 41 years and received on many occasions the Dakilang Guro
award for her teaching service. She was most notable for her leading the Girl Scouts of
the Philippines in H.E.S. and the many programs she did there, like nature
conservation, health consciousness, industry, prudence, and discipline she has instilled
in the lives of her students. Mam Caring has a particular command and personality that
makes her an outstanding teacher among her students. Even after she retired, she
never stopped teaching. She is a catechist for 13 years, lector and commentator, and
Pre Cana marriage counselor. She is a founding member of KRISMA in A. Rivera, a
community of Christian neighborhoods in the barangay. Mrs. Rivera is also an English
lecturer to teachers. Those who know her claim her to be a warm-hearted, inspiring, and
passionate teacher and church worker.
