1 Schedule Your Bible Read-a-Thon Reader’s Name

S elect a three- to four-week time period in which to read as many


chapters of the Bible as you can.

2 Gather Your Sponsors

F ind people who will agree to pay you a certain amount for each chapter
you read. These people can be relatives, friends, or anyone. Put
their names on the SPONSOR SHEET. Work until you have a

R ead as many chapters as you can. It’s best not to jump around but
to read an entire book before beginning a different one. Remember,
one benefit of the Bible Read-a-Thon is that you read God’s Word.

4 Mark Your Chart

A s you finish a chapter, place an “X” on the appropriate number of the


“Look How Much I’ve Read!” chart. At the end of your scheduled
Bible Read-a-Thon time, count your “X’s.” Enter that number in the box
at the bottom of the Sponsor Sheet.

5 Collect Your Pledges

G o back to your sponsors and share with them what you have read
from God’s Word. Collect from them the amount of money pledged
times the number of chapters read.
(Example: 8 cents per chapter x 122 chapters = $9.76 from Aunt Mary.)

6 Send Your Check

W hen you have all of your money collected, have your father or mother
write a check or get a money order for the total amount. Tear off
the Sponsor Sheet and send it and the check or money order to:
