LEARNING OF THE WEEK

Reaction Paper No. 5

Name: Rudolph Prudence S. Pailago Date:

Course: MAED-SPED - Area 3 Time: 8:00am-12:00nn

Title of the Topic: Economic Foundation of Education

A. The three (3) most significant learning that I got

is that first, economy runs in various ways. One type may not be effective to a
specific country and another may be successfully implemented as the other. This proofs
that differences create numerous upbringing booth boon or bane may occur on how a
country runs their economy. Second, philosophy reflects the economy. Due to its stand,
the production, distribution and consumption relies to the very root of their grounds,
concepts, beliefs and tradition. The economic performance and status goes back to
their viewpoint and how they apply the type they chose. Lastly, I’ve learned that
education relies on the condition of a country. If a nation has the highest economic
stand, then schooling is not a problem at all. Giving access to learning is a privilege and
not a hard opportunity to catch up.

B. These learnings are value to me personally because

as a teacher, we are granted with our calling to be the source of input for our
children. As one of the vital member of an economy, we can be that asset who brings
change to our land and contribute as a factor to rise our system. Knowing the different
kinds of economic system opens my mind to be aware on how others, despite of their
way of running, aiming to survive and adapt to many changes day by day. Economic
status does not always stay high and this become the challenge of every government all
over the world to sustain the needs of their people especially in the area of education
wherein considered as a good source of training ground who prepares individual to lead
the state that has the authority to govern the economy.

C. I would like to react or comment on the topic

about how the three political philosophies has their own way of laws and rules.
My previous teacher in college told us this opposite opinion of the crowd that says “Life
is unfair” but she pointed out that “life is actually fair”. Well, I guess this opinion applies
to the variances of these three and how that differences come together not as one but
to deeply recognize what suit best in a specific country. If we choose for instance,
communism all the time, I think it deprived a million of talents all over the world due to
one only has the authority to control everything and it stifled the chance to create
business on their own. And if we all choose Capitalism, then what about those individual
who cannot afford to run a private sector? I think the differences of the three has a
purpose and that purpose generate uniqueness which allows a state meet each other
when one land is on state of emergency. If everything is on top then no one knows the
attitude of “helping” and bringing in each other’s arm.

D. Additional Discoveries, insights, questions

I discovered that our life runs in the circle of economic system. Times will bring
us low and at some point they bring us up. Each has its own role, the people, producer,
distributor, service and consumption. If one fails, the whole might be affected as it
beautifully connected to each other. If the government is aiming for a rich economy,
then it is important to focus on the step in front of them, not just to the whole staircase.
This give them an idea of developing what area needs for improvement. I have no
specific question but I am just curious on how a state maintain a good economic
society, especially now that the pandemic came to challenge every portion of our
resources.
