RULES AND REGULATIONS

STUDENT APPLICATION AND REGISTRATION AGREEMENT

I, _______________________________________ (Full names and surname of student) ID number

____________________________ declare, agree and undertake the following towards TSHWANE NORTH
TVET COLLEGE.

I hereby agree as a student of TSHWANE NORTH TVET COLLEGE the following terms and conditions:
1. General terms
1.1. Declare that this agreement which has been completed and duly signed is applicable to my total period of
study at Tshwane North TVET College;

1.2. I declare that should it be deemed necessary by Tshwane North TVET College (as a result of this agreement)
to institute legal proceedings against me, and should I be unsuccessful in such legal proceedings, I shall be
liable for the legal costs according to the attorney and own client scale of fees;

1.3. That I shall acquaint myself with the content of the rules and regulation of the College that apply to students
in general, including the students Code of Conduct as well as the course / programme for which I am
registering and that, for the entire duration of my study, I commit myself to the fulfilment of these rules and
regulations as well as to the additional rules and regulations that the College may announce from time to
time.

1.4. By signing an application / registration or accepting the rules and regulations during online (iEnabler)
registration, a student submits himself or herself to the rules and regulations of the College. By accepting
the application or registration rules a student confirms that he or she is familiar with all those rules and
regulations, and that he or she will obey such rules and regulations.

1.5. That I take note of the content of the Comprehensive Admission Policy of the College. That the non-fulfilment
of these rules and regulations can lead to disciplinary action being taken against me, including permanent
suspension from the College.

1.6. Restrictions to admission/Academic Exclusion

The following applicants/students may not be enrolled:

1.6.1. Admission will be denied to the student who poorly performed (did not meet the requirements to proceed
to the next level twice) and had a poor attendance record as stipulated in the Punctuality Policy of the
Department.

1.6.2. A student is denied admission if he /she had been expelled from TNC and or another College as part of a
disciplinary sanction or Examination sanction from the Department.

1.6.3. If a student has failed twice and more on his/her field of study, with academic support interventions and
still fail, such student will not be re-admitted in the same programme.

1.6.4. Those found guilty of gross misconduct during a disciplinary hearing in a previous trimester/semester/year
by TNC or any other TVET College

1.6.5. Those with a pending disciplinary hearing on charges of gross misconduct (as defined in the College’s
Disciplinary Code and Procedures for students).

1.6.6. Those who have been suspended from writing examinations by the Department of Higher Education due to
examination irregularities.

1.6.7. Those who have exceeded the prescribed number of years to complete a programme/qualification
interrupted and uninterrupted [refer to paragraph 7.8.1.1 and 7.8.2.2(a) to (c)]

1.6.8. Those who completed a programme/qualification at a TVET College/University and want to enroll for a
second Ministerial programme/qualification, except for those that completed their NC(V) in the stipulated
time will progress to Report 190/1 programmes.

1.6.9. Those who come from other Provinces without private accommodation.

1.7. I agree that Tshwane North TVET College has the right to cancel my registration if I provide incorrect
information or documentation in an application for admission and registration (including but not limited to
the official documentation in respect of my Tshwane North TVET College admission, any previous study
record, and documentation/ certificate of Conduct) or if I fail to provide information or documentation to the
College that the College is entitled to summarily cancel my registration at any time if I should provide false
or incorrect information to the College.

I undertake to sign any document, whenever necessary; I acknowledge that the submission of fraudulent, forged,
or otherwise dishonest documentation or information in support of this application will automatically disqualify
me from enrolment.

I acknowledge that, unless explicitly changed in writing, all the terms of this agreement shall remain in force and
shall stand for as long as I am a registered student of Tshwane North TVET College, irrespective of whether or
not my studies may be suspended.

1.8. Rights and Responsibilities.

I have familiarized myself with the contents of Tshwane North TVET College Student Code of Conduct and
Comprehensive Admission Policy of the College I commit to the responsible exercise of the rights and obligations
of Tshwane North TVET College student contained therein.

I confirm that this agreement is concluded in Pretoria and is regulated by and interpreted in
accordance with the South African law.

1.9. Declare that, in the event of my being under-aged, this agreement is concluded with the consent and
assistance of my parents and/or guardian;
It remains the responsibility of the student to submit this completed declaration to the College.

DECLARATION BY PARENT / GUARDIAN IN THE CASE OF STUDENT BEING A MINOR

declare to TSHWANE NORTH TVET COLLEGE that the student enters into this contract with my consent, I agree
to the abovementioned terms and conditions and I hereby bind myself as co-debtor and surety in respect of all
monies payable by the student to the College under the terms of this contract, which undertaking can only be
cancelled or withdrawn with the College’s written permission.
