1. equity stake (tỉ lệ cổ phần): the percentage of a business owned by the holder of some
number of shares of stock in that company.
2. profit margin (biên lợi nhuận): one of the commonly used profitability ratios to gauge the
degree to which a company or a business activity makes money. It represents what
percentage of sales has turned into profits. Simply put, the percentage figure indicates how
many cents of profit the business has generated for each dollar of sale.
3. dividend (cổ tức) (n): A dividend is the distribution of some of a company's earnings to a
class of its shareholders, as determined by the company's board of directors.
4. interim result (kết quả giữa niên độ): A company's interim results are the set of figures,
published outside the regular times that show whether it has achieved a profit or a loss.

only on the Internet (a brick-and-motar retailer)
11. trading floor (sàn giao dịch) : the area of a stock exchange or financial market where
dealers work
12. Frenetic (a): extremely active, excited, uncontrollable
13. Twentysomething (n): a person between 20 and 29 years old
14. Impair (v): damage or weaken something so that it is less effective
15. Unaided (a, adv): without any help from anyone else; independently
16. Perceptive (a): very good at noticing and understanding things that many people do not

18. Volatility (n): the quality or state of being likely to change suddenly, especially by becoming

19. Wheeler dealer (n): someone who makes clever, complicated, and sometimes dishonest

20. Whizz-kid (n): a young person who is very clever and successful
21. Derivative (chứng khoán phái sinh): The derivative itself is a contract between two or
more parties, and the derivative derives its price from fluctuations in the underlying asset.
The most common underlying assets for derivatives are stocks (cổ phiếu), bonds (trái
phiếu), commodities, currencies, interest rates, and market indexes.
Chứng khoán phái sinh là những công cụ được phát hành trên cơ sở những công cụ đã có
như cổ phiếu, trái phiếu, nhằm nhiều mục tiêu khác nhau như phân tán rủi ro, bảo vệ lợi
nhuận hoặc tạo lợi nhuận. Các công cụ phái sinh rất phong phú và đa dạng, nhưng có bốn
công cụ chính là Hợp đồng kỳ hạn (forwards), Hợp đồng tương lai (futures), Quyền chọn
mua hoặc bán (options) và Hợp đồng hoán đổi (swaps).
