 Catedral de Cuenca

The Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception of Cuenca, is one of the most emblematic

religious buildings in Ecuador and it is not as huge as it looks. The Cathedral of the

Immaculate Conception of Cuenca has Romanesque, Gothic and Renaissance styles with

three domes protruding from the roof, this church is inspired by the Basilica of St. Peter

in Rome. Its construction began in 1885 and was completed about 100 years later, in the

1980s, this church is the longest in its construction.

The Chimborazo volcano

The Chimborazo is the highest volcano and mountain in Ecuador, with 6,263 meters

above sea level and 6,384 km measured from the center of the Earth. Chimborazo is

considered the farthest point of the Earth and is higher than Everest, the measurement is

considered from the center of the planet. Chimborazo has also been called King of the

Ecuadorian Andes because it is more imposing than the Tungurahua Volcano, which is

not as imposing as Chimborazo, and is the one that surpasses all volcanoes and mountains.
 Arenas plaza

The traditional Plaza Arenas is located in downtown Quito. Years ago boxing, basketball

and commercial activities were practiced here. This was a space of more relevance than

other places during the first half of the 20th century.

Currently in its aisles you will find handmade products made in the forge, doors,

windows, in addition, articles made of bronze as pailas, bells, candlesticks and other

pieces, these objects are more durable than those sold in other stores. This is a place where

you can buy hardware products, ornaments for the home, casual and work clothes, and

these products are not as expensive as in other places.
