When a baby started to grow up into a toddler, they start to understand that rules are
exist. So rules are not only applied for adult and teenager, but also kids and toddler.
According to psychologist said, the best rules are to make our rules positive and include
everyone in the creation. But most of people still say “No!”, “Don’t!”, or “Never!”, and other
negative words to prohibit someone from doing something. Here are how and why we need to
make it that simple.

Make it positive means we use our positive energy to talk with others including when
we want to tell someone to not do something. Instead of saying negatif words like “No” and
else, we can use other words or phrase. Example, if you want to tell your kids to not yelling at
someone, you can say “Please talk nicely”. Positive words can bring everyone in the house
into a positive vibes.

The second thing is include everyone in the creation. Narrow down the list and review
it together, including your children. You can explain the rules and why it has to be in the list.
They also allowed to give any idea about the rules too, so everyone feels appreciated.

According to Psychology Today (https://www.psychologytoday.com/us/blog/the-

intelligent-divorce/201509/7-happy-family-rules), there are seven rules for a happier family,
use the acronym C-R-E-A-T-O-R, but what is it?

- C is for Communication. It means, everyone in the house have the same right to
express what they feel without being judged.
- R is for Respect, because every individual have their own needs and urge. Respect
them so everyone can trust each other.
- E is for Empowerment , because all of house members are a team. Encourage each
other, because we all need validation, and it first comes from home.
- A is for Acceptance, and it means all of house members are important as a vital
part of the family set.
- T is for Task Delineation . As a team, everyone will have each other task, and they
need to commit and responsible with it.
- O is for Organization . It is a rule about how all of the members organize their
activity together, such as vacation, family gathering, birthday celebration, etc.
This moment build up the sense of togetherness as a loving family.
- R is for Resiliency . The last aspect is about how we face problem, either inside or
outside home. Do we talk to each other and ask for an advice and support, or do
we stay by ourselves in a confusing mind? Family is our first support system, so if
it doesn’t work, where we going to go when we have crisies and emergencies?

Rules in Home is important for every member of family, so making the perfect rules
is the best way to make our house organized. Just remember that different house might have
different kind of perfect rules. Just find your best one, so all of family members can reach a
happier state and make them thrive and grow.
