I. QUESTIONS
1. By your reasoning and practical examples to clarify the relationship between
treaty and international custom as traditional sources of international law with
other sources as informal sources of international law, thereby evaluate the role
of informal sources in regulating international relations in the context of
globalization. (N01)
2. Analyze the sea areas’ legal status under the sovereignty and sovereign rights
of the coastal state to demonstrate that the further away from the coast, the more
affected the legal status of those sea areas by the principle of freedom of the
sea. (N02)
II. REQUIREMENTS
1. Form
- Essay is presented on A4 size paper; font: Times New Roman size 14; 1.5 line
spaced on one side only, Top: 2.5 cm, Bottom: 2.5cm, Left: 3.5cm, Right: 2cm.
- Format: file PDF.
- The file name includes Subject name - Name of the lecture class (according
to the class name on the Microsoft Teams system) - student name - student
code.
Example: PIL – CLC.CB18-2-20-N01 – NguyenVanA – 431234
In which: + PIL: subject name Public International Law
+ CLC.CB18-2-20-N01: name of the lecture class
+ NguyenVanA: Student name (without space)
+ 431234: Student code
- The number of pages: Minimum five pages, maximum ten pages (not inclusive
of a cover page, reference and annex).
- A cover page is required, clearly stating their name, class, and student
code.
2. Content
- Identify the issue clearly and reasonably
- Logically and accurately analyze the issue
- Make use of terminology and reference to materials properly
- Articulate a good structure
- Wide range of material, citing reference sources.
3. Handling violations
- Failure to submit or late submission of the essay without a valid reason: The
student will receive a 0 (zero) mark.
- For essays with the plagiarized content from 50% or more (given the number of
words, excluding excerpts from legal documents) will receive a 0 (zero) mark.
- For essays with the plagiarized content from 15% to less than 50% (given the
number of words, excluding excerpts from legal documents), the total score will
be deducted by 50 (fifty) percent.
4. Essay Submission
- Duration: 3 days since the receipt of the test.
- Platform: on the Microsoft Teams system (students should take a screen photo
of essay submission as proof).
- Deadline: from 1.00 pm of July 5th, 2021 until 1.00 pm of July 8th, 2021.
- Late submissions will not be accepted.
