Parenting Style In Relation to the New Normal Education

Paragraph 1: The researcher started her introduction with a quotation that emphasized
changes we encounter under the new normal. She used the quotation to attract the interest
and curiosity of the readers.

Paragraph 2: With the quotation mentioned in the first paragraph, the researcher tried to relate
this to the current situation that we are facing in the Education sector. 

Paragraph 3: The researcher stated the solutions of the Department of Education to postponed
face-to-face classes and embrace the distance learning modality. 

Paragraph 4: The researcher explained the proposal of Dep Education-blended learning: 3 ways
online classes, printed materials, broadcasting through TV and radio. Different teaching and
learning modalities have been proposed for the school year 2020-2021.

Paragraph 5: The researcher introduced the problem: the parents are anxious to let their
children study this school year.

Paragraph 6: The researcher stated the stakeholders (parents, students, teachers, and
community) may have doubts about the process DepED in shifting to the new normal.

Paragraph 7-9: The researcher shared her personal experiences of being a mother: doubts on
outcome of the proposed learning modality of DepEd and her roles and obligations as the
mother and also as the teacher at home.

Paragraph 10. Present facts & studies from other researchers. Parenting style has effects on the
children’s academic and emotional process. Parenting style: democratic or disciplinarian:
democratic is more suited in terms of effectiveness and development of social and behavior of
the children.

Results from the previous study illustrated that adolescents reared in democratic homes tend
to show higher emotional/social competence than those living in authoritarian.
