PERFORMANCE TASK:
Choose from the different options below for your performance task (If you want to do 2-3 tasks, MUCH
BETTER) Please Check (/) what option/s you want to do for your Performance Task.

OPTION 1 Wordy Problem

Directions: Analyze and solve the problem below to develop your skills in problem solving. Write your
solutions on the space provided below.
You decided to have a morning jog to keep your body fit. You jog 100 m East in 150 s, made a left turn and
jog 150 m in 180 s, and finally made another left turn for 100 m in 90 s.
1. Make an illustration to represent the
problem. Draw it inside the box.
2. What is your average speed for the entire
jog? ____________________
Solution:

3. What is your average velocity for the

entire jog? ________________
Solutions:

OPTION 2 HEAT TRANSFER .Directions: Identify examples of situations or activities that can be observed in
your own house and surroundings involving
the methods of heat transfer. Draw and
explain briefly why it is important to you and
your family. Fill the format below..

OPTION 3: PLUCK ME!

Directions: Make a sounding box using the
materials listed below by following the given
procedures.
Materials
 Rubber bands
 Shoe box (or any box) without cover
 Sticks
Procedure
1. Place the assorted rubber bands from
thinnest to thickest. In the absence of varied
thickness of rubber bands, you may use
identical bands but vary by increasing the
number of the four rubber bands around the
box as shown in figure 1.
3. Pluck or abruptly pull and release each
rubber band and listen to the sound it
produces.
4. Describe the sound produced and record your findings on the Table
below.
5. Place the bamboo or wood stick across the box (on its edge) to form
a bridge as shown in Figure 2
6. Pluck or abruptly pull and release each rubber band again. Is the
sound produced still the same
7. Record your observations in
table and compare the sound it Figure 1 Sounding Box
produces.

Questions:
1. Does increasing the number of rubber band affect the pitch produced in the sounding box? How?
Write your answers in the box below:
Answer:

2. Compare the sound produced using 4 rubber bands with and without the bridge/stick in place. What change
does the stick make on the sound produced? Write your answers in the box below:
