Al Asmakh Tunnel Mechanical Calculations

Fire Water Tank Calculations:

1- Fire demand for fire Hydrant = 1257.15 gpm

duration of operation as per QCDD FSS No. 4.4 30 minutes

Required water = 1257.15 gpm x 30 minutes = 37,715 Gallons (142.6 cubic meters)

2- Fire demand for fire highest sprinkler demand = 279.23 gpm

duration of operation as per NFPA 13 Table 11.2.3.1.2 90 minutes

Required water = 279.23 gpm x 90 minutes = 25,130 Gallons (95.0 cubic meters)

Total water required = Fire Hydrant Demand + Sprinkler Water Demand

= 142.6 + 95.0 = 237.6 cubic meters

The provided fire water tank is 324 cubic meters
