RESOLUTION NO. 121-2020

RESOLUTION OF THE SANGGUNIANG BAYAN OF CAVINTI, LAGUNA


FROM THE PHILIPPINE CENTER FOR POSTHARVEST DEVELOPMENT
AND MECHANIZATION THRU THE RICE COMPETITIVENESS
ENHANCEMENT FUND-MECHNIZATION COMPONENT.

WHEREAS, the Municipal Government of Cavinti realizes that having


control over all aspects of the palay and rice industry is the only way to advance
for agricultural development;

WHEREAS, to improve its productivity and save postharvest losses, the


Municipal Government of Cavinti needed to acquire basic production and
postharvest facilities to be utilized by farmers/farmer groups such as:

WHEREAS, the Municipality of Cavinti has a total of 647 hectares of rice


land; 194.1 hectares are irrigated and 452.9 hectares are non-irrigated;

WHEREAS, the Municipality of Cavinti has 901 farmers and and 21


farmer groups and 19 rice producing barangays that will benefit from the project
and will have access to the services of expert personnel to manage and operate
the said machinery/facilities;

WHEREAS, the proposed location of the project is bounded by rice area

WHEREAS, the Municipality of Cavinti has n active Municipal Agriculture


Office that will oversee the utilization of machines by the farmers and farmer
groups. It will be led and composed of the following personnel to ensure
sustainability of the machines:

d) Operators: to be identified from each farmer group beneficiaries

NOW THEREFORE, on motion of SB Member Pedro O. Villegas Jr. and


duly seconded by Marlon F. Villanueva, Elma P. Flores, Rosemarie F.
Esperanza, Manuel A. Dela Roca, Ulysses R. Bituin and Anita C. Baeyens

RESOLVED, as it HEREBY RESOLVED to REQUEST ASSISTANCE


FROM PHILIPPINE CENTER FOR POSTHARVEST DEVELOPMENT AND
MECHANIZATION FOR THE ACQUISITION of the above requested
technologies.

RESOLVED FURTHER, to AUTHORIZE HON. MILBERT L. OLIVEROS,


LOCAL CHIEF EXECUTIVE OF THE MUNICIPALITY OF CAVINTI, LAGUNA
TO ENTER INTO AGREEMENTS, TRANSACTS WITH THE DAPHILMECH
AND FARMER ASSOCIATIONS AND/OR SIGN DOCUMENTS FOR AND IN
BEHALF OF THE MUNICIPAL GOVERNMENT OF CAVINTI WITH THE
RESPECT TO THE REQUESTED ASSISTANCE.
