I. IDENTIFYING INFORMATION
As the Covid-19 Global Pandemic affects the usual course of our daily lives and the
entire operations of the Boy Scouts of the Philippines, a new trend dubbed as “New Normal“
is emerging recently in order to adapt to the changes brought about by this health crisis.
Under the “New Normal”, the BSP with the assistance and support of local councils
leads opportunities to Scouts and Adult Leaders to continue core life skills, even at home,
through Scouting’s approach to non-formal education. It will continue to provide guidelines
on the availability of “online”, “homebased” and “do-it-yourself” activities.
Last February 22, 2021, Boy Scouts of the Philippines, the Bulacan Council initiate
the conduct of Tree Planting Activity at home. Pursuant to the National Memorandum No.8
s. 2021. In schools, learners were taught to love planting vegetables crops. Gulayan sa
Paaralan program helps the learners to grow vegetable crops on their own. Covid-19
Pandemic put a halt in every family’s livelihood. Due to the community quarantine
measures, urban gardening has become a favorite bonding time with family. Growing
vegetables at home, can save money, can be a source of income and having home grown
vegetables leads to a healthy lifestyle. These Go Green Challenge was totally accepted by
Frances Elementary Scouts.
