The value of education is something that I have understood since at very young age. Neither of
my parents had an opportunity to attend college, and faced many struggles in their personal
and professional lives because of this. They made a commitment early in my life to do
everything within their power to instill in me a love of learning and an understanding of the
importance of hard work and dedication.
Because of their love and sacrifice over the years, I have been able to devote the time and
energy necessary to academic accomplishment even though money has always been tight. In
my Higher National Diploma, I graduated at upper credit level and obtained an academic award
in some of the courses. In addition to this, I have obtained Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical
Engineering with a 3.34 grade-point average. I also worked as a mathematics and science tutor
throughout my years in school.
Owing to state support for students which has decreased substantially and Nigeria economic
recession, many states are still reeling from the economic slump and most have made large cuts
in public service funding including higher education. As a result, public colleges and universities
have increased tuition, meaning you are probably going to pay more now. For this reason, I
cannot afford not to apply for scholarships in 2019.
The master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering is often sought in order for graduate to quickly
obtain the best positions in the competitive field of Mechanical Engineering. An MSc in
Mechanical Engineering covers many aspects of study which include the advanced study of
design, analysis, development, creation, and maintenance of mechanical systems. These
systems may be used in industries such as transportation, automation, energy generation, and
aerospace. This advanced degree is beneficial to students because it prepares them with the in-
depth, modern instruction and skills they need to compete in the field of Mechanical
Engineering. The advanced degree and the experience that students obtain during their studies
often open doors that other students cannot access.
Graduates in this field are often responsible for bringing ideas to life. They take theoretical
designs from sketches on paper into physical existence.
This program typically involve engineering courses and technical electives. Some examples of
courses includes: Design Engineering, Mechanics and Materials, Management, Production
Engineering, Biomechanical Engineering, Mechatronics and Autotronics Engineering,
Aeronautical Engineering. But to create a specific track of study, I will like to concentrate on
Mechatronics or Design Engineering as part of my research studies.
My family has made many sacrifices to allow me to focus on education throughout primary and
secondary school and also in my first degree, though I’m in need of financial assistance to
realize what has been a long-term goal for me and a dream for my parents.
I greatly appreciate your consideration. Please, know that this scholarship will make a
significant positive impact in my ability to continue in my field of study and will be greatly
