GIS STUDIO METHODOLOGY

Description of terms:-

1. Larger Questions: They are large overarching questions within which there will be several smaller questions embedded.
2. Sub-Questions: These questions are a subset of the larger questions. Answers to all these questions will be able to construct the answer to the larger questions.
3. Maps: These are spatial representations of the argument presented in each of the sub-questions. Maps should collectively help in addressing the larger question.
4. Parameters: These are essentially the vector (points / lines / polygons) or raster layer names which will be required to create in order to create the required maps.
5. Sub-parameters: Sub-parameters are the types of data which will be collected and/or collated under each parameter. (column heads of attribute table)
6. Attributes: Attributes are the actual data in terms of text or numerical values which will be required to be captured and entered under the corresponding sub-parameter.
7. Source: The source of data in terms of primary (ground truthing / interviews / surveys etc.) and secondary (papers / journals / books / websites / organizations etc.)
