CHAPTER 5

Summary of Findings, Conclusions, and Recommendations

This Chapter presents the summary of the findings, so conclusions drawn from the

findings and the corresponding recommendations.

Summary

This study was aimed to determine the impact of covid-19 pandemic in importations of

personal protective equipment in metro manila.

The questionnaire was the main instrument used to gather the needed data. This study

was conducted during the second semester of School year 2020-2021.

Summary of the findings:

As for research, problem number 1 in terms of Age, Gender, Occupation, and Years of

experience, it was found out that a greater percentage of the respondents is at the age bracket of

23 – 25 years old with a frequency of 90% percent. And has approximate that the analysis of

identity has got both with a frequency of 50% percent. Most of them working are customs

brokers with has 1 – 10 years of experience.

As for research, problem number 2 regarding demand based on the results, shows that

there has been an increase in demand for PPE importation in metro manila during the pandemic.

As for research, problem number 3 regarding supply based on the results, shows that the

supply of PPE in importation in metro manila has also increased. This means that PPE has

sufficient supply in the middle of pandemics.


The overall results of the assessments of the respondents are affirming that the importation of

PPE at times of pandemic has a big impact on the demand and supply in metro manila.

Conclusion

The study found out that most of the customs brokers are 23 - 25 years old and they

encountered struggle shipment in the importation of PPE in metro manila plus they had the

knowledge to share their some experiences how Covid- 19 Pandemic affects the importation of

PPE in Metro Manila.

The study found out that the reasons for the rising demand for PPE in importation in

metro manila are caused by panic buying, hoarding, and misuse. The global supply of PPE was

severe disrupted during the pandemics.

The shortage of supply of PPE was a problem in the Philippines back then cause of

insufficient source of supply. However, the study found out that the increasing supply of PPE in

importation in metro manila, today has more than enough suppliers both global and local caused

of no longer disruptions in operating of importations as well as the price of PPE can be bought at

an affordable price.

Recommendations
Based on the findings and conclusions presented, the following recommendation are

suggested:

1. It is recommended that future researchers conduct the same study on other countries.
2. It is recommended that the researchers conduct a comparative analysis of the

importation of PPE during covid-19 and other pandemics.

3. It is recommended that future researchers study other factors in terms of quality.

4. It is recommended to the future researchers use the study to better the service.

5. It is recommended to future researchers conduct the effectiveness of PPE during

pandemics.
