Hazard Identification

 Crushing
 Projectiles
 Dust
 Noise

Hazard Control
 Always use the yellow guard arm correctly.
 Keep hands clear of moving parts.
 Wear ear and eye protection.
 Do not use compressed air to clean this machine.

Pre-Operation (Daily)
1. Position the yellow arm guard directly below the hammer.
2. Ensure the exterior is free of loose or built-up material.
3. Lower the hammer:
a. Support the full weight of the hammer.
b. Position the yellow guard arm fully to one side.
c. Lower the hammer to the turntable in a controlled manner.
4. Open the machine housing.
5. Ensure the interior is free of loose or built-up material.
6. Apply one drop of light machine oil to the hole in the catch.
7. Close the machine housing.
8. Press STOP - JOG until the bottom of the hammer rises above the yellow arm guard.
9. Position the yellow arm guard directly below the hammer.

Operation
1. Position the yellow guard arm directly below the hammer.
2. Reset the blows counter.
3. Set the correct number of blows.
4. Load sample portion.
5. Arm the machine by pressing RESET.
6. Position the yellow guard arm fully to one side.
7. Start the machine by pressing RUN.
8. Allow the cycle of blows to complete or to stop the machine press STOP – JOG.
9. If necessary, press STOP - JOG to lift the bottom of the hammer above the yellow guard
arm.
10. Position the yellow guard arm directly below the hammer.
11. Repeat steps 4 – 10 as needed.
Installing Hammers
1. Position the yellow guard arm directly below the hammer.
2. Lower the hammer:
a. Support the full weight of the hammer.
b. Position the yellow guard arm fully to one side.
c. Lower the hammer to the turntable in a controlled manner.
3. Open the machine housing.
4. Remove the front cage bar assembly.
5. Remove the hammer assembly.
6. Install the correct hammer assembly:
a. Partially lower the hammer through the bottom port.
b. Support the full weight of the hammer from below the port.
c. Lower the hammer to the turntable in a controlled fashion.
7. Install the front cage bar assembly.
8. Close the machine housing.
9. Press STOP – JOG until the bottom of the hammer rises above the yellow arm guard.
10. Position the yellow guard arm directly below the hammer.

Installing Molds
1. Position the yellow guard arm directly below the hammer.
2. Loosen wingnuts & remove molds.
3. Place correct molds onto base plate & tighten wingnuts.

Housekeeping
 Ensure loose or built-up material is removed from the base, hammer, mold, housing
interior & exterior, or turntable at the start & end of each operation, or during the
operation as needed.
 If the bottom of the hammer becomes encrusted with material during operation, the
machine should be stopped by pressing STOP - JOG, the full weight of the hammer
should be supported, and the hammer should be scraped with a margin trowel.
 Ensure the exterior is free of loose or built-up material at the end of operation and as
necessary during operation.
 Ensure the floor is swept at the end of operation and as necessary during operation.
