OVERVIEW OF THE PLATFORM

Enterprise Development Centre (EDC) is the Entrepreneurship Centre of the Pan-Atlantic

University. Set up in 2003 as the Centre for Enterprise Development Services (EDS), the Centre

emerged as a direct response to the dearth of available professional business development and

support services to small and growing businesses in Nigeria.

The EDCLEARN is an online learning platform where businesses (tenants) can easily set up an

online presence to tutor and enlighten their customers / students as easily and seamlessly as

possible. The learning resources uploaded can be either paid or freely accessible to a business's

learners.

As a learner, this user manual will work you through the process of interacting effectively with

the application. As a learner, you would also be enlightened on how to use the LMS platform to

your best advantage.

Please note that in this manual, businesses you are registered under are referred to as tenants,

while their users or customers like you are referred to as learners.

LEARNER’S DASHBOARD

GETTING STARTED WITH THE PLATFORM

Welcome to the EDCLEARN platform! Here, you have access to resourceful learning contents

that will help improve and elevate your business and entrepreneurial skills. You can always

explore all courses offered by the business/tenant you are registered with on their landing

pages. You also get to read through other learners' feedback on courses they have taken. To get

full access into the learning resources, you need to be a registered learner under the business

instructor.

You can either sign up as a learner by inputting your email, password and all necessary

information, or be added specifically by your business instructor. Kindly note that if you try

unable to sign up, this is because your instructor has disabled registration into the platform. You

would have to contact your instructor to add you. To do this, you can always find the contact

information on the landing page.

KNOWING YOUR DASHBOARD

Once you have successfully signed in, you will be navigated to your dashboard. Your dashboard

gives a brief overview of all you can do on the platform. It also allows you ease in navigating

between screens. Every operation you can perform on your dashboard can be found in the

side bar menu.

The topbar menu allows you to easily log out, view this documentation, activate the tour and

view your notifications. Kindly note that the color theme displayed on your dashboard is

determined by your instructor. To quickly go back to the landing page without logging out, you

can always click on your instructor’s company logo.

PROFILE AND DASHBOARD SETTINGS

If you were sent an email with a default password, the next thing you could do is to ensure you
update this password to digits you can easily remember. You can also update your profile and
include other information that was not captured at the point of registration.

VIEWING PROGRAMS AND COURSE AVAILABLE

To access the courses available on the platform, you would click on c

 ourses in the sidebar
menu. This will display all courses that can be enrolled into for free(if it is free). You might be
required to buy some courses if they aren't free.

If you would like to purchase a course, but not yet ready to do so at the moment, you can always
add this course to your cart or wishlist. Courses added here will remain stored. Therefore, they
can be easily accessible to you when you want to make payment.

NOTE, if you wonder about what course to buy, you can always watch the overview video of a
course to gain more insight about it. Once you are satisfied, you can make payment.

7

For ease in keeping track of your learning process, your lessons have been broken down into
sections called modules. Therefore, you can decide to complete all lesson content in a module
at a sitting or whichever time is convenient for you.

Your lessons can come in the form of four resource types. You will be required to watch a video
if the resource type is of video. If the resource type is a quiz, you will be shown a couple of
questions and answers. N
ote, once you submit a quiz, you will be shown the answers you got
correctly or missed. This helps you take note of your corrections and you could rewatch
previous videos so as to get better.

Lesson types of articles display written articles for you to dwell on. Exercises are more like
assessments. They include a question and a field box where you type in your answers. Note that
exercises submitted will be graded by your instructor. Kindly take them importantly.
