7. Usage of the DESKO BGR 504 pro
As soon as the DESKO BGR 504 pro is connected to a PC and the BGR application has
initialized the device, it is ready to scan bar codes from paper printed documents or from
mobile devices. In case of a BGR 504 pro with NFC module, it is ready to communicate via
NFC with appropriate mobile devices also.

More detailed information can be found in the DESKO youtube channel under the
following link: http://www.youtube.com/user/deskovideo?feature=results_main

7.1 Scanning a bar code document (e.g. Boarding Pass)

To scan a bar code document you have to hold the document or the display of the mobile
device flat on the scanner window with the bar code facing downwards. The bar code
should be placed in the middle of the scanner window to have optimal read results. “How-
To-Use”-Pictures, which are mounted between the scanner window and the display
window (see Picture 7.1), describes this handling for the user.

7.2 Reading an NFC document (e.g. mobile ticket):

NFC devices such as smart phones with integrated NFC chip should be placed in the same
way as a barcode document in order to start a NFC-read. The NFC-antenna of the BGR 504
pro is visually indicated by the glass printing as shown in the picture below. If this glass
printing is missing, the BGR 504 pro is not equipped with a NFC module.
