1. PROBLEM
Concerned hardware
The issue occurs on CS board (also called CS-1) equipped with SATA hard disk and with embedded
or Stand-Alone 4645 voice mail. CS without 4645 voice mail or CS-2 does not face the issue.
If the CS is started first, and the 4645 voice mail is created, everything is working fine. The issue will
be faced only after the next reboot.
The hard disk is not broken, neither the software nor database is lost or broken.
SATA hard disk uses a SATA <-> IDE daughter board (3EH73078AB).
To access the CS board, you should unplug/replug it.
Concerned releases: All.
Note
The issue does not happen with PATA disk.
After the reboot, the telephonic application is not started and the following messages are displayed:

2. CAUSE
Activation of the DMA mode.

− Connect to the CS.
− Launch the uhwconf command:

4. SOLUTION
Install the minimum OmniPCX Enterprise versions below to use SATA hard disk:
• Release 8.0.1 : version ≥ G1.503.34
• Release R9.0 : version ≥ H1.301.37
• Release R9.1 : version ≥ I1.605.12

4.1 Migration from old release to release R8.0.1 and upper


You must use at least the versions mentioned above.

4.2 Case of Disk exchange on lower release than 8.0.1


In case of disk exchange, a PATA disk will be exchanged by another PATA disk.
If you need to replace a SATA disk by a PATA disk, (for example you have a spare CS with SATA disk
and you want use it on release 7.1), you may open a e-Service Request.
This last case is only possible when you are concerned by the issue described in this technical
communication.

4.3 Case of add_on on release 8.0.1 and upper


You must use at least the versions mentioned above.

4.4 Case of add_on on release lower than 8.0.1


In this case, and only in this case, you must order an add-on with PATA disk (Ref 3BA76031 ADAF),
see hardware support catalog.
