STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

Introduction:
Firstly I might wish to introduce myself, I Ranjit Sharma (Passport Number-
T8611123). I’m a permanent citizen of India residing with my parents at
Punjab, India. I have always had an interest in IT field and business activities
and an urge to learn more about it on global scale, as IT field is one of the fast
and emerging field in recent times, helps in numerous employment
opportunities. Therefore I have planned to study further with Technical
Management and Services program from Kwantlen Polytechnic University as
this program will not only help me with the IT skills but it will also put
emphasis to learn Business activities such as critical thinking and analytical,
communication, teamwork and interpersonal skills. I wanted to be a
neighborhood of challenging IT environment which can cause enhancement of
my skills and knowledge and also help me with a stable future prospect.

Excellent Communication Skills:

On 14.12.2019, I appeared for an IELTS exam and scored 7.0 bands overall.

Family Ties:

The main and the foremost motive for applying to study in Canada is to add
international study exposure in my qualifications which will help me to have a
stable future prospect in my Home Country- India. I have no intension or
mindset to overstay in Canada. After completion of my particular program and
after gaining all the required skills and techniques I will be returning to my
home country as I have sturdy family ties in India and have huge movable and
immovable property in India which I have to take care of.

Why this Course:

Before selecting the Technical Management and Services course, I did a lot of
research about this program on college website www.kpu.ca and I found that
My BC College Technical Management and Services program is going to start in
fall, 2020 at BC Campus. This program will help me preparing for work in
technical management and services, this program will help me to learn to
develop a technology plan, and put technical services in place within an
organization. I will be able to analyze the performance of organizations and
identify ways to improve and meet marketplace needs while formulating
technical strategies for the betterment of Organization.

On the other hand the reason for choosing the program related to
Technical Management and Services is because TMAS program combines
management and business administration concepts within the context of
managing in technical product development, technical services (ie.
engineering, environmental sciences, information technology) or
operations and manufacturing environments. This program consists of
five general management courses which allows participants to develop
business-related critical thinking and analytical, communication,
teamwork and interpersonal skills. I will attain a solid understanding of
how to interpret and synthesize core business, financial and performance
data to make informed decisions in a technical business environment.

I will develop a range of job-related and transferable skills such as critical

thinking, creative problem solving, and the ability to cope up with rapid
technological change. The capabilities in the research and problem-solving will

I have selected Canada because Canada is one of the best places to pursue
your higher studies and the country attracts thousands of students each year
from abroad. Degree from a Canadian university is taken into account of great
value which is like US, Australia and other European Countries. Both the
Govt and Universities provide benefits especially for the scholars to pursue
their studies successfully. The high academic standard and quality education
help the scholars to return out of the schools with flying colors. International
students can gain valuable education at very low fees compared to other

reduce the expenses and I will get the best education at minimal fees. Even

My long term future plan is to be in Technical Services in Environmental
Science as environmental science and protection technicians mainly inspect
businesses and public places, and investigate complaints related to air quality,
water quality, and food safety. They may also be involved with the enforcement
of environmental regulations. This field includes the further departments such
as Psychologist, Industrial Psychologist, Environmental Science and Protection
Technician, Biochemist, Epidemiologist/Medical Scientist, Anthropologist,
Forensic Science Technician.

Following are some of the job opportunities related to this field is:

 Amenity horticulturist

 Commercial horticulturist

 Environmental consultant

 Environmental education officer

 Environmental engineer

 Environmental manager

 Minerals surveyor

Job Roles and Duties:
