Personnel Installation of the FIRE SUPRESSION (FM200) SYSTEM will be organized from a central location by the project management team. It is envisaged that the installation of FIRE SUPRESSION (FM200) SYSTEM on site will be conducted by one or more FIRE SUPRESSION (FM200) SYSTEM installation teams. Each FIRE SUPRESSION (F200) SYSTEM installation team will comprise of a supervisor, up to 2 skilled workers/riggers and up to 4 helpers. The FIRE SUPRESSION (FM200) SYSTEM installation teams will report to the site construction management organization, in general, and the Station Engineer (Mechanical) in particular. The personnel on site will be fully competent to carry out the installation of FIRE SUPRESSION (FM200) SYSTEM and all related works associated with it. The site personnel will have attended the required contractors safety induction and/or competency training and will abide by the health & safety plans, policy and procedures as well as Environmental Plan. Personnel will be deployed to the various sites on the basis of programme requirement and site access availability. It is intended that the works teams will be organised by geographical areas. Materials The FIRE SUPRESSION (FM200) SYSTEMs will be procured from approved vendors. Materials/components will be ordered as per approved material submittal. All items delivered to the site will first be inspected to check that they are in accordance with delivery documents, and that they are free from any damage caused during transportation to site. Delivery documentation shall be checked for completeness. Defective or damaged equipment shall be notified to the supplier and stored on site at a suitable quarantine location, The defective equipment will be either replaced or repaired at the option of the supplier. The inward inspection of materials will be carried out in accordance with the relevant QA/QC procedure (Document Number DMO01 ~ X - AST ~ GEM ~ PR -DCC-409603). No materials will be permitted to be used without being inspected on arrival to the site. Construction Procedure and Construction Methods The construction procedures and methods described here are based upon the scope and application of the method statement summarized in section 2 of this method statement and the work methods are structured accordingly. These procedures are for use and guidance of only those personnels responsible for installation of FM200 system. Paget? ‘Suomesson acy searen 10.1 PREPARATION WORK. Before commencement of installation, following are required to be ensured. * Check the shop drawing of the FIRE SUPRESSION (FM200) SYSTEM layout is approved, and that the same is issued with "Approved for Construction” status, in accordance with document control procedures. * Check that the design of the Builders Work and SEM requirements, as applicable, is approved, and that the Builders Work and SEM requirements drawings, as applicable, are issued with “Approved for Construction” status, in accordance with document control procedures. Check that the applicable builder's works and SEM requirements works are completed. If these provisions are available and adequate a Joint taking over inspection between DURL and ETASET shall be conducted and recorded. Cheek that site access to the work area for installation is available, that the works area Is clean and safe and that the temporary services provisions are available. Check that all the materials and components of Fire Supression (FM200) system have been delivered and inspected as per ITP. If any of the above is not found Ok work will not start and a NCR will be issued. After getting familiarised with the system and its concept the supervisoriforeman explains procedures for installation and safety precautions to be taken by the installation personnels. 10.2 INSTALLATION PROCEDURE FOR MECHANICAL COMPONENTS: «Fix the supports for pipes on the ceiling/wall as per approved drawings. Cut pipes as per approved drawings and thread those using sharp dies. Clean the pipes internally to remove burrs and foreign material. Ensure pipes are free from particulate matter and oil residue before installation. + Install pipes as per approved drawings. Apply jointtape only to the male portion of the threads of pipes. Seal all penetration with fire stopping sealant. Arrange visual inspection of pipes for proper location. Paint the pipes as per approval. Check that the location of cylinders is suitable for inspection, testing, recharging and other maintenance activities. If it is found otherwise. Inform the concerned get the approval for an alternate location. Check that nozzles are installed as per the part numbers shown on drawings. Check that correct type of nozzle (180°/360°) is used. Check that 360° nozzles are located at the centre of the room and O° near the wall of the room. Check that pipe work is pneumatically tested as per NFPA 2001 with Nitrogen gas. = Check the nameplate of the cylinders to confirm the weight of the agent. Tare weight, gross weight and super pressurization level are as per the shop drawings. * Verify that the pressure gauge of cylinder is within the ‘green range’. Position the cylinders vertically and secure it firmly to the wall. Ensure that a check valve is installed in the manifold for main/teserve system and ensure that it allows the flow of gas from cylinder to the nozzle. After installation of piping and system components. Check each segment of piping to Powe sor7 ‘ee STATIMENTFORISTALLATIONGF ME gaya DOE ICABT-GU-DEC-0108 KY 11.0 12.0 ie ensure that it is as per length used in flow calculations. Should there be a change; flow calculation is done again based on the as built piping to ensure the orifice size matches. 10.3 INSTALLATION PROCEDURE FOR ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS + Install the initiating and releasing circuits as per approved drawings * Identify the cables as with tags and terminate cables with ferrules. Ensure that location of the manual release unit is accessible always even during fire conditions. * Locate all devices so that it will not be subjected to damage. «Install smoke detectors as per approved drawings. « Ensure that detectors are installed in a cross zoned configuration. Check that EOL resistors are installed for all devices and are of correct. Ensure that terminations inside the control panel are completed as per approved wiring diagrams. © Check that batiery is provided inside the control panel. «Ensure that FM 200 system's control panel is interfaced with Fire alarm system. * Check that EOL resistors are installed in the detection and bell circuits. © Check that warning sign is installed at the entrance of the protected area 10.4 INSPECTION OF INSTALLATION. Inspect whether the installation is completed as per approved shop drawings and all debris has been removed. © Check the detectors are away from supply air grilles as per approved drawings. + Inspect all components visually for any damages. 10.5 HANDING OVER DRY RUN TEST » Remove the solenoid valve. «Test whether fire detectors are sensing by spraying aerosol. * Check for manual operation of panel by pressing manual operation button on the panel. * Check whether initiating signals are send to the solenoid valve after sensing/pressing of manual operation button. * Record the testing Responsibility The Project Manager (mechanical) is the overall responsible person for the process implementation of the works. The Construction Managers will be responsible for all construction activities at the site and will directly supervise through erection supervisor / skilled workmen the work at site. The Construction Manager will also be responsible for arranging and controlling the inspection and testing activities. Notwithstanding the above, it is the responsibility of each individual employed in the project to take due care to ensure their own personal safety and that of their work colleagues.
